Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce recreated the menu from an N.Y.C. Italian restaurant for their rehearsal dinner

The couple’s MSG wedding included 1,000 guests, a forest-like setting, Italian food and a dessert table with 30 cakes
Before Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot, they kicked off their nuptials with an intimate rehearsal celebration.
The dinner, which brought together the couple’s family and friends on Thursday, July 2 in the Infosys Theater at Madison Square Garden, featured food from N.Y.C. Italian restaurant Sartiano’s, a source tells PEOPLE exclusively.
“They did a recreation of the menu from the restaurant for Taylor and Travis,” the source says.
“The rehearsal was very intimate, it felt small and like a mini wedding,” the insider continues of the evening. “There were speeches, there was so much love in the air.”
They add, “There were tasteful flowers around and the decor was romantic, but tasteful, it was much more scaled back and intimate than the wedding the next day.”
Per Sartiano’s website, the restaurant located in The Mercer hotel in SoHo focuses on the intersection of “timeless elegance” and “downtown energy,” with a menu featuring a range of Italian pastas, steaks and mains.
The menu includes a caviar section, along with crudo and tartare offerings and salad options.
The appetizers also include a house-made focaccia, served with whipped ricotta, a burrata dish, fritto misto with calamari and rock shrimp and more.
The menu has pastas ranging from Wagyu beef ragú fusilli to Maine lobster and Calabrian chili butter bucatini, along with various cuts of steak.
The restaurant’s mains also include a Dover sole and branzino, with sides like fingerling potatoes with truffle aioli and roasted carrots with pomegranate yogurt.
Swift and Kelce, both 36, are known for stepping out to N.Y.C. hotspots for date nights, and they are fans of the SoHo Italian spot. The pair were seen arriving hand-in-hand at the restaurant for a date night on Friday, May 22.
Another source tells PEOPLE the dinner was “very touching and intimate.”
The personal event included the couple’s family and celebrity friends, including Lena Dunham, Jack Antonoff, Erin Andrews, Charissa Thompson, Greg Olsen, and Aric Jones, who were spotted arriving at the venue around 6 p.m. on July 2. The A-listers brought glam to the celebration, sporting jewel-toned and sequined dresses.
Selena Gomez shared a selfie from the car, while Abigail Anderson was also spotted en route to the dinner.
Jones is a longtime friend of Kelce’s, telling PEOPLE in an earlier interview that he met Kelce in Cleveland Heights, Ohio when Kelce was about 6 and Jones was around 4.
Anderson and Swift are also longtime best friends, having met in English class on the first day of freshman year at Hendersonville High School in Tennessee over 20 years ago. Anderson is the inspiration, in part, for Swift’s hit song “Fifteen.”
The second insider says that at the wedding, which took place on Friday, July 3, at Madison Square Garden, “the food was endless.”
“There were so many stations and options,” the source says, adding that there were “lots of doughnuts around where the games were.” The party featured numerous games, with winners getting raffle tickets for the chance to win items like designer bags, watches and a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, the same car that Kelce drove off in with Swift after her first Chiefs game in September 2023.
Another insider previously told PEOPLE that the reception included stations with Italian offerings like pasta in a parmesan wheel, along with sushi, steak, burgers and fries and seafood. There were also “bars everywhere,” the source said.
TMZ reported that the singer and Chiefs tight end bypassed a traditional wedding cake, instead opting for a massive dessert table topped with about 30 different cakes, each of which featured a unique 3D figure of the couple. The outlet said the dessert offerings also included other sweet treats.
A source told PEOPLE exclusively that the dessert table included items like pop tarts, cookies and pastries and was “a focal point” of the festivities.
The fun-filled celebration followed the couple officially getting married, as Swift’s rep confirmed to PEOPLE. The news was also announced on jumbotrons outside the arena that said: “JUST&T MARRIED!”
An insider told PEOPLE that the couple read their vows, which were about 20 minutes each, from gold books. The source said the arena “looked like a forest,” with ferns, trees and seats covered in white.
A-listers were seen flocking to the event, which included an estimated 1,000 guests, including Dakota Johnson, Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann, Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn, the Haim sisters, The Chicks, Brad Paisley and Kimberly Williams Paisley, Hugh Grant, Zoë Kravitz and more.
A friend of the couple told PEOPLE that the newly married couple took time to “talk to everyone they could” and kept “thanking everyone for being there.”

“And she talked in her vows about how, in high school, he was like, the star athlete, but the kind of guy who would go and sit at the table with the less popular kids and keep them company and be nice to them when they were being bullied—the kind of person that she wished she could’ve known when she was in high school. Really touching, very personal, and very heartfelt.”

For days, details surrounding the wedding between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce remained hidden behind a veil of mystery. But now that the lovers’ matrimony has been officially confirmed by their camp, guests are opening up about the event.
Guests, including musicians, directors and more, have started to share their impressions of the nuptials on social media. Two people who were at the star-studded bash exclusively shared with NBC News details on how the extraordinary July 3 night at New York’s Madison Square Garden unfolded — and it certainly sounds as fantastical as many had predicted.
The entire wedding, the guests said, was a “pinch me moment.”
So far, not much about the ceremony has been publicly revealed by the couple themselves. The pair’s representatives said in a statement sent to NBC News that the nuptials were officiated by friend and comedian Adam Sandler. The pair also opted against a traditional wedding party, the statement said. Instead, the musician’s brother Austin Swift served as the “Man of Honor,” while Kelce’s sibling Jason Kelce served as best man.
According to the two who spoke to NBC News, guests first entered the venue and walked through a tunnel that featured photos of Swift and Kelce throughout the years, from childhood through their relationship together. Then, guests stepped into what was the couples’ “Secret Garden, the two people both said.
The ceremony itself, the two guests added, was particularly moving. According to the statement from the couple’s representative, Swift and Kelce wore looks that were created by fashion house Christian Dior Haute Couture. The two guests mentioned that both the bride and groom wore white.
Swift and Kelce personally wrote their own vows, the two guests said. Swift’s vows featured a bit of her singing. And the exchange between the couple elicited tears from those in the crowd, the two attendees said.
“You would think the bride would be the one crying more, but it was actually Travis that was more emotional,” one of the attendees said.
The magic didn’t stop there. The reception was one to remember, with performances from Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks, the two guests said. While Swift did not perform at the wedding, she did so at the rehearsal dinner the night before with Kelce as the couple sang their favorite rock song together, the two attendees added.
The two guests also shared other details, raving about the food that was served that night, which was from the couple’s favorite New York City restaurants. One standout aspect of the wedding was the games that attendees were invited to play, the two guests said. Through the games, people could win tickets to be submitted into a raffle. The two people explained that raffle items — which included multiple designer bags — also featured a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, the storied car that the couple rode together on their first date. It’s unclear who ended up winning the prizes.
Famous attendees — which included Tom Hanks and Jennifer Lopez, according to the two guests — have begun to share snippets from the night to remember as well. Singer Fergie, hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, actress-singer Selena Gomez and others have shared their “Tayvis” wedding day outfits.
Director Joseph Kahn, who socialized with fellow director Steven Spielberg and actress Kate Capshaw, said he had a “wonderful time.”
“What I will say about the wedding was it was so much funnier and emotional than expected, and as big as it was, it also felt very intimate,” Kahn wrote in an Instagram post. “Wishing your beautiful family and future family endless happiness!”
In a July 4 post on X, country star Kelsea Ballerini described the event as “the most beautiful wedding,” adding that she is “still crying and dancing.”
Sportscaster Rich Eisen, who attended with his wife and fellow sportscaster Suzy Shuster, had high praise for the wedding as well.
“Storybook doesn’t do the expression of love we witnessed justice,” Eisen wrote in an Instagram post.
And actress Niecy Nash, who went to the nuptials with her wife, musician Jessica Betts, had one word to sum up the event of the year.
“Wowwwwwww‼️ is the best way to describe it,” Nash wrote on social media. “From beginning to end no detail was spared! Congrats!”
