âThe three of us are in the same boat now. Iâd say that officially makes us partners. Like it or not.â Leon tells Helena, walking in deeper into the catacombs. âFine by me. As long as you two help me get to Simmons.â Helena said and we nod. âDoes this all belong to Simmons?â She asked, looking around the catacombs as we keep walking. âWell, with that lab of his sitting right on top of us? Iâm gonna go out on a limb and say yes.â Leon said.
âDoâŚdo you think that heâŚknew about, you know thatâŚclone?â I asked and Leon gives me a sympathetic look but I could see a flash of anger in his eyes. âHe might have but I canât be a hundred percent sure.â He replied. âAnd why me? I mean, he couldâve picked anyone else but why me?â I asked. âI donât know. And Iâm not sure I want to know.â Leon said and I nod, slightly, at this. I honestly kinda agree, Iâm not sure I want to know the answer to that either.
âSo, that woman, Ada, who is she?â Helena asked. âAn old headache.â I replied, annoyed, and Leon scoffs out a laugh. âLittle history there, huh?â Helena asked. âYou could say that.â Leon said. âCan we trust her?â She asked us and Leon and I share a look, both of us not knowing how to answer that. Ada has always been this riddle wrapped in an enigma type person. You never know what to except from her.
âThatâsâŚnot an easy question to answer.â Leon replied and Helena looks at him, confused. âItâs likeâŚâ I said, trying to find the right words. âOne minute, sheâll be helpful and you feel like you can trust her. But the next, sheâll stab you in the back once itâs something that benefits her and youâre back to distrusting her.âÂ
Helena nods, understandably, just as we come upon this large ornate door with snakes intertwining each other. âThereâs writing on this door.â Leon said as he points to the inscription above it. âSet forth evidence of kith and kin.â I read. âKith and kin? Simmonsâ family tree? I didnât bring any evidence, did you?â Helena asked us. âNope. Not related. You think they left anything lying around?â Leon asked but then I had a lightbulb moment.
âWait a minuteâŚthe ring Ada gave me!â I said. âA ring? When did she give you a ring?â Helena asked as I dig into my pocket and pull out the ring. âWhile we were making our way down to you as you were, uhâŚdealing withâŚDeborahâŚâ I said as I walk up to the door and insert the ring into the middle indentation.
That worked as the door begins to open. âBingo!â I exclaimed, happily. âThanks for the gift, Ada.â I muttered. The door opens and reveals a flooded area. âLooks like weâve got to get our feet wet.â Leon remarks and we enter the room. âItâs not the water Iâm worried about.â Helena said, the water coming up to our waist. Which caused me to gasp as the water was freezing cold.
We walk into the room and noticed a large creature moving and diving down into the water. âAre you kidding me? What the hell was that?â Helena asked. âNothing good.â I said. âUgh, just once Iâd like to find a place flooded with warm water, ya know.â Leon remarks. âIâd like for us to go somewhere and not have to go into any sewers or labs or catacombs but here we are.â I snarked as we made our way through the flooded area.
We make our way through the flooded tunnel which lead us to some more tombs. And of course it wasnât an easy trip, some monsters here and a few avoidable traps there and we finally make it to a large door with two switches on either side of the door. âCome on, letâs keep moving. Iâm sick of these catacombs.â Helena said as her and Leon pull the levers. But once that happened, the floor under our feet opens and we fall through.
After a few moments of falling, we land on hard ground and we get up on our feet to see nothing but darkness, a few torches afar. âWelcome to the center of the earth.â Leon jokes and I shake my head before we head on. âI promise you, weâre not gonna let Simmons get away with this.â Leon assures Helena after we noticed her determined but annoyed look.
âGood. I wonât rest until heâs paid for why he did to Deborah.â She replied and we continue our way through this new part of the catacombs, taking out a few monsters along the way.
But at one point, a part of the ceiling came down on us and we jumped out of the way then began to run. âGirls, run!â Leon shouts as we run while the stone walk way collapses around us. We get to a large archway but then a couple of streams of water block the doorway. We stopped in our tracks but then we turn around as a large wave of water comes at us and sweeps us away.
âOh God! What do we do?!â Helena exclaims as the water washes us down a long tunnel. âHell if I know!â I shouted as we continue to fall through the water tunnel until we fly out of the tunnel and plummet to the river below. I hold my breath as we hit the water, Leon looks over at me, once we were settled in the water, and Helena; I nod as Helena gives a thumbs up.
We began to swim through the underwater catacombs until at one point we saw something large pass by us. It had to be that large creature we saw earlier. I look around and see a little tunnel above and I swim up towards it and felt my head burst through the water, it was a little area where we can breathe. Leon and Helena pop up next to me and all of us take a breath. âNot my lucky day.â Leon quips and I roll my eyes. âYou're a dork.â I said but before he could say anything, Helena lets out a yell before sheâs pulled into the water.
âHelena! No!â Leon and I shouted and we dive back down to see it was a giant mutated looking shark had grabbed Helena. Leon and I grab the tail of the shark as it swims away. We literally climb on the shark to get to the top, Helena does her best to fight the shark. It lets her got and she falls off of the shark but I reach out and grab her hand before she disappears while Leon got to the mouth of the shark. Helena and I hang onto the shark as I see Leon stabbing the shark in the mouth.Â
Suddenly, the tunnel ended and we all went flying and separate from the shark. I land in the water below and took a few seconds to recover before I swim back up to the surface. Leon pops up next to me and takes a few deep breathes before he looks over at me.Â
âYou alright?â He asked me. âYeahâŚyou?â I asked him and he nods before we look over to see Helena was atop of rocky platform on the other side of us, I look around and notice there was no way to get to her. âCareful! That thingâs still around here!â Helena tells us. âOk. Weâll find a place to climb up.â Leon said to her and he and I began to swim forward.
We swim ahead and make our way into a large area where, above us, were bridges and I could see Helena running along them. Suddenly, there was a rumble behind us and I look over my shoulder and see the sharkâs head pops and roars, I could see something glowing inside its mouth. âLeon, (y/n), get out of there! Itâs coming!â Helena shouts. âShit!â Leon and I shout  and we swim as fast as we could while Helena shot at the shark.
Eventually, the shark falls back into the water while Leon and I get to the other side of the room and come upon the platform. Leon gets up on it, turns around and holds his hand out to me. âThanks.â I said as I take his hand and he helps me up on it. Helena made her way onto the platform and I look at her. âNice shooting there.â I said. âYouâre welcome.â She said and we head to this broken grated door.Â
The three of us push it open but then I hear something and I look over to see that the shark had jumped up and headed towards us. âShit!â I shout as the shark rams into us and we all go flying into another tunnel. We fly down but we turn on our backs to see the sharkâs head pops coming towards us. âGet ready! Itâs coming!â Leon shouts and we pull out our guns and fire at the shark, debris flying all around us.
Then, as if in slow motion, I see a barrel flying over us and see that itâs labeled TNT. âAim for the dynamite!â I shout and all of us aim at the barrel and right when it gets in front of the shark, we fired. The TNT goes off and the shark explodes. âGood job!â Helena said and we continue to slide on the tunnel until it came to an end.
We fly out of the tunnel then plummet into the lake below. We crash into the water then swim up, and see that we are finally outside. I swim over to a drifting log and grab onto it, Leon comes up behind me and wraps his right arm around my waist while his left arm was hooked onto the log. âIâm fineâŚIâm fine.â I whispered to him as my right hand patted his right arm. I knew he wrapped his arm around me to assure himself I was ok.Â
Helena grabbed onto a nearby log and we all took a breath just as we hear a loud whistling noise fly over us. We looked up to see what looked like two large missiles flying over the sky and towards the horizon of the forest. âWhat theâŚ?â I started to ask.
BOOM!!!
A loud explosion sounds out and we see cloud and fire overhead. We get out of the water and look out to see the mushroom shaped cloud and my jaw dropped. âHeâs sterilizing the area.â Helena said. âAnd destroying the evidence.â Leon said. âHow could he?â asked Helena. âLeonâŚâ I whispered, horrified, and we share a look. He could tell I was thinking the same thing, this was definitely Raccoon City 2.0.
All our comms go off and we answer it. âThank God, youâre still alive!â Hunnigan said. âWhereâs Simmons?â Leon asked, angrily. âAfter speaking with you he leftâŚin a hurry.â She replied. âShit!â He growled. âWhere did he go?â I asked her. âAs he was leaving, he was talking to someone on the phone. He didnât sound too happy.â Hunnigan replied. âAny way we can find out where he went?â Helena asked. âDonât worry, Iâve got a tail on him.â Hunnigan said, I could hear the smile in her voice. âHeâs on his way to the airport right now, where his private jet is preparing to leave for China.â
âChina?â I said, confused. âYes. Take a look at these.â Hunnigan said and Leonâs phone pings. He pulls out his phone and we see pictures of mutants and monsters. âWhat happened?â Helena asked. âAnother bioterrorism attack. The BSAA confirmed it was the same one used in Eastern Europe six months ago called the C-Virus.â Hunnigan replied and Leon flicks to another pic and we see the cocoons in the pictures.
âC-VirusâŚâ Leon mutters. âWe saw cocoons just like that here!â I said and Leon shuts his phone. âWe need to stop Simmons and take him into custody right away.â Leon said, determined. âWe have no evidence, and right now you three are in the top of their list of suspects.â Hunnigan informed us. âNoâŚâ Helena mutters and I place my hands on my head.
Leon looks at us and I could see the gears turning in his head, he was coming up with a plan. âListen, Hunnigan, I need you to fake our deaths. Can you do that?â Leon asked her while Helena and I look at him, stunned. âWhat?â We said, shocked. âOf course, but theyâll figure it out eventually. What are you going to do?â Hunnigan said and Leon looks at us then out towards the forest.
âWeâre going to China.â He said, determined.

I let out a pained groan as I come back to consciousness, realizing Iâm lying on the muddy ground, the rain pouring down on me. I look around and see Helena and Leon also starting to wake up before I look forward and see the bus on fire. The driver was still alive as he tries to crawl out of the bus, holding a hand out towards us. I get up on my feet, alittle too quickly, and stumble before heading towards the driver but the bus explodes and Leon grabs my arm to pull me back.
The flames engulfed the bus and the three of us stare at the bus in disbelief. âThey escape the infectionâŚonly to die like this.â Leon mutters, despairingly, while I close my eyes and lower my head, feeling awful for those people. âThereâs no time to grieve. We have to get to the cathedral.â Helena tells us and I open my eyes, raise my head to look at her as she walks away. I donât know why but Iâm having a bad feeling about this whole cathedral thing with Helena. Just canât place my finger on it.
âLeon! (Y/n)! Helena! Are you OK?â Hunnigan asked us over our comms. âYeah. For whatever reason, weâre still alive.â Leon replied. âWeâre cutting through the cemetery to reach the cathedral.â Helena said and ends the call with Hunnigan before we make our way through the cemetery.
After going through the cemetery and fighting off some zombies that were still straggling around, we finally get to the cathedral and run up to the main doors. âHello? I know someoneâs in there! Open up!â Helena demanded as she pounds her fist against the door. âAre you crazy? Those things will kill us!â A manâs voice called out from the other side. âWe took care of them! Let us in!â I shouted and there was a moment of silence before the main door opens.
We just started entering when a noise was heard behind us and a zombie runs at us out of nowhere. We charge inside and Leon goes to shut the door but the zombie wedged itself between the doors and tried to grab at me but I turned around, aim my gun and fired at its head, killing it. Leon leans against the door some more and it shuts.
The three of us share a look before we turned to face the rest of the cathedral to see several people inside, all looking at us with hope. âAre youâŚ?â One of them asked. âSorry, guys. Weâre not rescue workers.â Leon informs them, almost regretful, and everyoneâs attitude turns to deflation. A few people started to cry as the others turned away from us, their heads hanging in despair.
âThereâs a secret door by the altar that leads underground but we need to find a way to open it.â Helena said as she points to the altar. âYou wanna tell us whatâs down there?â Leon asked her. âOr how the hell you know that?â I added. âItâs better if I show you.â Helena replied, simply, and I sigh softly, at this and we walk up to the altar, looking up to the large statue of a robed figure.
âThere are stairs under this statue. It was open the last time I was here. Shit.â Helena grumbles while I look around and noticed two pedestals with the same statue on both of them. âMaybe these are the clue?â I said as I head to the pedestal on the right and pick up the statue of a robed woman, Madonna of Happiness.
Once I picked it up, the pedestal made a noise, like stones rubbing against each other, and the surface of the pedestal had risen. âItâs a weighted switch. I bet thereâs a couple of different switches like these thatâll open the statue.â I said, raising my head to see an upper balcony. âMaybe up there.â I said and Helena looks at Leon. âIf you give me a boost, I can go see.â She said and Leon goes up a wall, that was under the opening to the upper floor, and cups his hands for her.
Helena runs at him, places her foot on his hands and he boosts her up. Once she gets up there she looks around. âHoly shit, youâre right! Theseâs a pedestal up hereâŚ.â She said then she turns and looks across then points. âI see the other one over there.â She said. âGreat, now we just need a way up there without breaking these statues.â I said. âHang on.â She calls out then runs off.
âSmart thinking there.â Leon complimented me and I give him a smile. âI have my moments.â I said. âOver here!â Helena shouts and we run back towards the front of the cathedral to see Helena knocked down a ladder for us. I hand Leon one of the statues, tucked the other under my arm and make my way up, he follows suit.
We get up top and I hand the statue I had to Helena. âIâll make my way to the other pedestal and when I say go, we place these statues on them at the same time. Should open up the statue.â I said and Helena nods as she heads to her pedestal and Leon and I head to the other one. Once we get to the pedestal, I look across the building at Helena and she nods at me again.
âAlright, ready?â I called out. âAs Iâll ever be.â She said. âOkayâŚ.go!â I said and both of us place the statues on the pedestal. There was a loud rumbling sound and we see the base of the statue begins to open. âNow weâre getting somewhere.â Leon said and we start to head back to the ladder when there was a moaning sound coming from the statue.Â
âWhat was that?â I asked as we stopped then saw a tall figure  with various boils on it, each boil had a small hole in it. The survivors all stand up and stare at it as the monster clambers into the room. âWhat is that thing?â Helena asked as the monster lets out screech. âYouâre asking us?â Leon asked her and one of the survivors fires their gun at the monster, a blue gas emitted from one of the holes and the man screams out in pain and falls to the floor.
Most of the people started to run but one woman runs to the man to check on him. But it seems that gas turned him into a zombie and he attacks the woman. âIâm guessing thatâs what unleashed this hell.â Leon remarks and we jump down, get our guns out and began firing at the monster as everyone began scrambling for cover, screaming.
It took several bullets and a few grenades but it finally went down. Unfortunately, it was able to kill the other survivors and we had to put them down as well. âShit.â I grumbled after it was all said and done. âHey! Letâs go!â Helena said as she had already entered down the stairs. Leon and I look around the once crowded cathedral, now quiet and littered with bodies, then slowly walked down to the secret passageway.
âWish I believed God were looking out for us right now, but I think weâre on our own.â Leon said as we entered what looked like a large lab with several locked cells. âWhat the hell is this place?â I asked. âCome on.â Helena said as she runs ahead of us. I give an exasperated look to Leon before we follow her.
She takes us to a large metal door and opens it, revealing an empty room with just a lone chair inside. âWaitâŚI remember this place! Deborah must be close!â Helena said, excitedly. âWho?â Leon and I asked her as she runs over to another door. âPlease be okay.â She said, shakily, as she opens the door and runs inside, we follow her and run down a hall then entered a large laboratory.
âCome on, where are you?â She asked, panicked, still running and looking through various rooms. âSheâs not here either!â She exclaims. âWho are we looking for?â Leon asked her, almost sounding as annoyed as Iâm feeling. âDeborah, if youâre here, give me a sign!â Helena shouts as she frantically looks around the lab and through the many doors.
âIâm getting kinda tired of you stringing us along. Are you gonna fill us in or what?â He asked Helena, annoyed, and I donât blame him. Weâve been running around and saving Helenaâs ass for awhile and she wonât tell us why weâre here.
âI will. But weâre running out of time. JustâŚplease, guys, bear with me alittle longer.â She said and I sighed. âHelena, no offense, but itâs getting a bit harder to trust you when youâre not being straight with us.â I said. âI know. I know. Iâm sorry. Itâs justâŚitâll be better if I showed you.â she said and walk through another room until we come upon a large door.
Leon and I kick the door open and the three of us enter the room, guns raised and looking around. All we saw were large tubes with different creatures inside of it, none of them moving thank God. âOh God.â I muttered, lowering my gun. âWhat the hell is all this?â Leon asked as he lowers his gun. âNone of these were here three days ago.â Helena remarked.
I give her a suspicious look while Leon walked forward to a TV. I walk up behind him as he picks up a VHS tape and reads the label on the side and freezes. âLeon?â I asked, worried, walking up next to him. He looks at me, stunned, but also confused and he holds up the tape to me so I could read the label.
Happy Birthday (y/n) Valentine
âWhat?â I whispered, stunned, and look up at Leon. âI-I donât understandâŚâ I said, lost, and Leon goes to insert the tape in the VHS player. Why did this tape have my name on it? Especially my maiden name, havenât been (y/n) Valentine for years now. The screen is static for a moment but then flickered to show one of those large human shaped cocoons weâve seen and then a close up to the face, which looked feminine.
Then text popped up on the screen.

The screen goes back to the cocoon statue and something starts to grow out of the top of it. Then it gets bigger and bigger until the nude body of a woman bursts out as she leans back then falls over onto the floor. The camera gets closer to her as the woman coughs then raises her head so we could see her and I gasp, placing my hand over my mouth.
That womanâŚwas me. I mean, she looked exactly like me. Same hair color and hairstyle, same face shape, same complexion, same eye shape and color. It was scary how accurate she looked to meâŚ.it made me sick.
The camera pulls back as we see my clone, or whatever she was, on the ground but also a manâs hand in the shot before the tape ends and ejects the tape.
âWhat was that?!â I asked, fearfully. I couldnât even begin to tell you what I was feeling. Anger, disgust, scared, confused but worst of all, I felt a bit violated. Someone here had this sick idea of making some sortâve clone of me but why?
Leon turns to me and could tell I was distressed. He places his hands on my shoulder. âWhat the fuck was that?!â I asked again, starting to get more upset. âHey, hey, (y/n)..â he said and I place my hands on his chest, still staring at the screen. âLook at me, look at me.â Leon whispers and I look at his face and his beautiful blue eyes.
âBreathe, baby, breathe.â He instructs me and I take in a few deep breathes, doing my best to calm down. âI-I donât understandâŚâ Helena whispers and Leon looks at her. âIs this what you wanted to show us?â He asked, his tone angry. âNo! I thoughtâŚâ Helena said, looking lost, but then we heard a sound.
The three of us turn and noticed the tubes started to light up, each one holding people inside. âThatâs not good.â I muttered as Leon and I remove our hands off of each other, both of us grab our gun. We began to walk towards a door which lead us into another room filled with the same water tubes that held experimented people. âSoâŚyou seriously have no idea about what the hell we just saw?â Leon asked Helena as we continue to walk down the hall, looking around at the tubes. âNo! I promise I donât!â Helena replied, defensively.
âThen why donât you fill us in on what you do know?!â Leon exclaims. âI-I canât. You guys probably wouldnât believe me if I just told you. Thatâs why I want to show you. And when I doâŚyou two will have all the answers and proof youâll need.â Helena said. âWith all due respect, Helena, but I just saw a clone of myself and after seeing that, I donât think anything will be more unbelievable than what we just saw.â I said. âPoint taken butâŚonce we find what Iâm looking for, you guys will understand.â Helena said and I sighed before looking over at Leon.
He looked just as frustrated as I do but he lets out a heavy sigh then nods. âFine but I swearâŚâ Leon starts to threaten but then there was a crash behind us. We turn and see some of the creatures inside the tubes had busted out, look towards us and chase after us.Â
âRUN!â I shout and the three of us run and maneuver our way around this maze like lab. Eventually, we come upon a chute door and Leon opens it, revealing a slide leading downwards. âThis way!â Leon said and each of us jump in the hole and slide downwards.
After a few seconds, we stopped and ended up in another underground tunnel. âGreat. Wonder where this leads toâŚâ I muttered as we get up on our feet and began to make our way through.Â
Moments later, the tunnels lead us into an underground dungeon which really makes me think how did this end up under a cathedral and how big is this place?Â
So many questions, so little time.Â
We walk around this place for a few moments before we see a large area with an unconscious woman in the middle of the room. Helena stops and gasps. âDeborah!â She exclaims and she runs toward the woman, we follow after her.
âDeborah!â Helena shouts as she runs up to Deborah and kneels down next to her. She grabs her shoulders and shakes her. âDeborah! Can you hear me?!â She asked, frantically, and Deborah stirs for a moment then turns her head to look at Helena. âHelenaâŚ?â She asked and Helena lets out a sigh of relief. âThank goodness!â Helena sighed, happily, and her and Deborah embrace.Â
Leon and I share a look as we approach the two women, Deborah places her hand on her head, groaning in pain. âOK, enough with the mystery. What the hell is going on here?â Leon asked Helena. âLetâs just get her out of hereâŚ.â Helena said as she helps Deborah up to her feet. ââŚthen Iâll tell you everything. I promise.â Helena said and Leon stares at her then nods.
Helena gives us a relieved look then turns to Deborah. âHang in there, sis!â Helena tells her as she gets Deborah on her back. Seeing this, actually made me think of me and Jill. So I guess I felt a bit of sympathy for Helena now. âYou take care of her. Leave any hostiles to me and Leon!â I tell her. She nods at us and we go over to a wooden slope and we walk down them.
âDeborah, can you hear me? Iâm gonna get you home.â Helena tells her sister as we make our way down of this large tomb. A few zombies popped up out of nowhere and Leon and I take care of them. Above us, we hear a loud bang and we look up to see some debris falling. âThe roof is caving in!â Leon shouts and we began to run. âGuys! Help!â Helena shouts and I go over to her and help her carry Deborah.
âGuys! Where are you?â Hunniganâs voice asked through our comms. âI canât pinpoint your position at all! What the hell isâŚâ she said but then the line goes static. âHunnigan, come in! Ah, dammit!â Leon growls as we continue to make our way out these catacombs.
We make it to the bottom when Deborah starts screaming in pain. âDeborah!â Helena exclaims as Deborah jumps off of Helenaâs back. âJust hold on, weâre almost thereâŚâ Helena tells her as Deborah continues groan in pain. âDeborah, stay with me, all right?â Helena tells her but then suddenly, Deborah bursts into flames and screams in pain.Â
Leon pulls Helena back as I stare at this in shock. âNo! No, Deborah! No!â Helena screams as the fire dies down and Helena was encased in a cocoon, similar to the one my clone was in. Helena pulls out of Leonâs grip and goes up to the cocoon. âNoâŚNo, this canât be happening!â Helena cries.
But then the cocoon began to crack and something starts to burst out of it. Leon and I grab our guns as a humanoid figure emerges out of the cocoon. Suddenly, an arrow flies past me and hits the figure in the face, making it fly back. Helena cries out at this then runs over to the figure. âWhere the hellâŚ?â I started to ask but then I hear footsteps behind me.
Leon and I turn around, guns raised, but stopped to see a familiar figure coming towards us, holding a crossbow. âAda!â Leon said, shocked. âLong time no see!â Ada greets, smiling, and I glare at her. Helena stands up and raises her own gun at Ada, anger etched on her face, but Leon places his hand on her gun, making her lower it. Helena looks at him then begins to cry, my heart breaking for her.
âWhy am I not surprised you are a part of all this?â I asked Ada, angrily. âI wouldnât say Iâm a part of this.â Ada replied and I scoffed. âOh please.â I said, exasperated, and Ada rolls her eyes a bit at me. âThen why are you here? What the hell is going on here?â Leon asked her. âItâs complicated.â Ada said then there was a rumble above us and the room began to shake, a few dust particles fall over us. âBut this isnât the time or the place. These walkways wonât hold. We need to get to the lower levels!â Ada tells us as Helena goes to Deborahâs body and hugs it.Â
âIâm so sorry, Deborah. Itâs all my fault.â Helena cries but then I noticed Deborah started to move. âHelena? Get away from her!â I shout as four large tentacles burst out of Deborahâs back. Helena pulls back and stares at her before she looks over at us and see us getting our guns ready. âStop! Donât shoot, please!â She begs us but Deborah knocks her away from her then goes to attack us.
Leon, Ada and I fire at Deborah and she stumbles back before using one of her clawed tentacles to hit a nearby pillar. The pillar falls and crashes down on the wooden platform, causing it to break. Helena falls off to one side and Leon grabs on the ledge. âLeon!â I shout and I grab his hand but the floor collapses under me and we all fall some feet down.
We land on another wooden platform and both Leon and I let out a groan of pain before we get back up on our feet. âYou okay?â Leon asked me as he helps me. âYeahâŚâ I groaned as I get up. âDeborah? Where are you!?â Helena shouts and Leon and I run down the slope til we came upon a dead end. But to our left we see a large gap and the other walkway on the other side.
âUp there!â Leon said as he points up and I see a rope hanging down and over. Leon and I run, jump and grab the rope and swing across to the other side. Once we landed, Ada swings around and landed next to us. âHere.â She said and tosses an object at me and I grab it. I open my hand and give a confused look at the little item in my hand. âA ring?â I said, confused. âDonât get the wrong idea. Itâll make sense later.â Ada tells me as she walks past me.
âOh, I wonât. Youâre not exactly my type. Plus I already got a nice ring.â I said as I wave my left hand, showing my wedding band. âYea, yes, very nice.â Ada said, dismissively, and it took every fiber of my being to not shoot her. Deborah, meanwhile, was trying to cause chaos as she was jumping around the place and throwing debris at us. We were able to dodge her until Ada was able to get at an advantage point and shoot her.
Deborah falls to the ground and Helena runs at her. âDeborah!â She shouts and Deborah shoves her away then started to get up, her clawed tentacles pop out again. âYou should put her downâŚif you have any sympathy for her.â Ada tells us while Leon and I fire at Deborah. âThis is a nightmareâŚit canât be real!â Helena cried as Deborah started to turn into a scorpion like monster.
âWhat the hell is going on?!â I shout and Deborah continues to fight us. âJust stop it, Deborah! This isnât you!â Helena shouts as we continue to fight Deborah. âDonât tell me youâre still crying. Sheâs trying to kill you.â Ada tells Deborah, plainly. âDonât you think I know that?â Helena yells at her as Deborah jumps around the room and attacks us with her claws, laughing like a madwoman. We just do our best to fire all we had at her and just hoped for her to die, which is awful of me to say.
Deborah then jumps in the air then slams down on the stone floor, causing it to break and collapse under us and we all fall and land on more wooden platforms. Which brings back my question on how big is this place and how long was this under Tall Oaks?
Leon and I get up and see Helena and Deborah on the lower level of us. Deborah screams out and a long claw bursts out of her and Helena fires at her a few times before the claw retreats into Deborah and she stumbles around. âHelena!â Leon and I shout and we make our way down to her as Deborah falls over the edge of the platform.
Helena grabs her arm just as she falls off, Helena then hangs over the ledge and holds onto her sister. âNo more tears. Not until I avenge your death.â Helena tells her and I hear Deborah letting out a screech. âPleaseâŚForgive meâŚâ Helena pleads before she lets go of Deborah and we see her fall into the dark abyss.
âI didnât know what else to do. So I helped him. I helped Simmons breach the presidentâs security.â Helena explained. She finally told us that Simmons, of all people, captured her and Deborah. âThat sounds like Simmons, all right.â Ada said. âBut why the hell would he do all this? I mean, I always thought he was a creepâŚbut thisâŚâ I said, too shocked for words. âLong story.â Ada said before her phone rings.
She pulls out this weird looking cube shaped device and looks at it before turning to us. âWeâre up against the people who really run this countryâŚin a very dangerous game, and if you donât play your hand rightâŚâ Ada said before she smirks and chuckles. She walks away from us, pulls out her grappling gun and fires it into the air then zips out of sight from us.
At that moment, Leonâs phone rings and he answers it. âLeon, where are you?â Hunnigan asked once her face appeared on screen. âIs Simmons there?â Leon asked her. âYesâŚâ Hunnigan replied. âHunnigan, you need to be careful. I think heâs the one who did allââ Leon started to warn but then Simmonsâ voice speaks.
âDid I hear my name?â Simmons asked and the three of us share a look before Helena glares at the camera. âSimmons.â She growls. âThe president spoke highly of you, Agent Kennedy.â Simmons said, ignoring Helena. âLikewise. He told me youâd been friends for 30 years.â Leon said. âTell me, is it true you and Agent Harper were the only ones present at the time of his death?â Simmons asked, in an accusatory manner.
This made my heart sink. âWhat are you saying?â Leon asked him. âWell, you must be aware that you two are both suspects in this attack?â Simmons said, smugly, and my jaw drops. âWhat?!â Helena shouts. âAgent Harper, at the time of the attack you had abandoned your post, leaving the president vulnerable. You must admit such behavior is suspicious.â He remarked.
âYou son of a bitch! Youâre the one who planned all this!â Helena accused. âWith what evidence could you base such an outrageous accusation? I am the National Security Adviser. It is my job to prevent terrorist attacks, not cause them.â said Simmons. âYou liar!â Helena roars. âHelena!â Leon said, warningly, while I finally found my voice. âSimmons, this is ridiculous! You know it wasnât them..!âÂ
âI warned you not to get involved, Miss Valentine, as I had my suspicions of these two. But you decided to go against me. And now youâre aiding and abiding criminals. Not a good look for you as well. What would your son think?â Simmons said and I clenched my fist, Leonâs free hand grabs my wrist and squeezes it, tightly. What Simmons said also got to him but he was doing his best not to show it on his face. âI told you to leave my son out of this! And thatâs Mrs Kennedy, you Sonuvabitch.â I growled.
âIf the three of you feel so strongly about your innocence, then you should have no problem turning yourselves in.â Simmons said and he hangs up. âIâm going to make him pay!â Helena vows as Leon shuts his phone. âLooks like things just went from bad to worse.â Leon mutters and I close my eyes, take in a deep breath and let it out, slowly, like I was pushing out all the anger and frustration so that I could have a clear mind.
â(y/n)?â Leon said and I open my eyes to turn and look at him. âWe need to get out of here and stop him.â I said, determined.
âThe presidentâs dead?!â I exclaimed to Leon as the three of us walk through ankle deep of sewer water. Helena was some feet away from us in the front, while Leon and I trailed back a bit so that he could fill me in on what the hell is going on. âYeahâŚâ Leon said, in a low voice, and I give him a sympathetic look. âIâm so sorry, honey.â I said, in a soft sympathetic voice, as I place a hand on his shoulder. âJust kinda wish it wasnât me that put him down.â He mutters, in a guilty manner. âYou had no choice, Leon.â I said, trying to assure him and ease his mind. âI know. Still doesnât erase the guilt.â He replied. I frown a bit at this then move my hand down his arm towards his hand and intertwine my fingers with his.
He turns his head to me and I give him a reassuring smile to him before a static sound comes through the comms. âLeon. (Y/n). Helena. Weâll be out of contact when youâre in there.â Hunnigan said as we come upon a red door and go through it, which lead us to a subway tunnel.
âIâll still be tracking your movements, but be careful.â She informs us then she ends the call and we jump down on the tracks and head to the left. As we get deeper into the tunnel, we could hear some groans of zombies up ahead of us. âDown here too?!â I asked as our light beams hit a few zombies. They turn and start to come at us, we raise our guns and fire at the monsters.
Suddenly, the sound of a train horn blares and we see a bright light coming at us. âThe train!â Leon shouts and the three of us go and lean up against the wall as the subway train zooms by us. Once the coast was clear, we keep going ahead until we heard a womanâs terrified scream then a dog barking a second later.
The sounds of hurried feet come at us and three dogs, their bodies looking like its decomposing already, charges at us, growling and snarling at us. We fire at the dogs before they could get any closer to us and killed them as their bodies flop down on the floor.
We keep making our way down the tracks, fighting off more zombies, until we come upon a platform and make our way up it and towards the door. We get inside and hear a noise  just as our flashlights go out. âGreatâŚHowâs that for timing?â Leon said, sarcastically. âMineâs out too.â I said as I try to turn the light back on but nothing. âSame here. Iâm almost blind here.â Helena said as she was right, we could barely see a few feet in front of us.
Finally, our flashlights come back on just in time for us to see a few zombies. We take them out and run down the hallway then turn left, seeing a bright light shining over a red door. Leon opens the door and we enter through it and see we are at a different part of the tunnels.
We run out on the tracks and see more zombies. âNot my lucky day.â I muttered and we fight off the zombies. Then the dreaded train horn could be heard again. âLook out! Train!â Helena shouts and I look and see that there was a two way trail. âOver here!â I shouted, pointing to the tracks on the left and we run over to them as the train comes up behind us then goes to the trail on the right.
We run along the train as it stops and the lights go off. The three of us share a look before we head toward it. We get up in the platform and Helena goes to the door and tries to open it, but was unsuccessful. âItâs locked, but I could open it from the inside. I wanna have a look around in there.â She said and she goes to the back of the train and looks at Leon. âBoost me up top.â She said and Leon goes over to her. âJust donât leave us behind.â Leon tells her and he gets to the end, kneels down and cups his hands. She places her foot in his hand and he boosts her up, she gets to the top and I hear her jump inside the train, some commotion inside, then a gunshot.
Moments later, the door opens and Leon and I walk in as Helena speaks. âI got attacked as soon as I dropped in. Keep your guard up.â She tells us and we run through the car just as we hear a loud scream. We stopped at the door then shared a look before Leon opens the door, cautiously.
We enter another car and there was nothing but we could hear more growls. We continue on going through the train until we got to the end and see a door open on the left side. We jump out of the train then continue on down the tracks until we come upon another platform.
We get on it and I see two maps on the wall, one that said Subway map and the other said Tall Oaks Station. We run along the station until we come upon another train car and hear knocking. We look over and see a woman inside, looking terrified. âHey! Hey! I need you to open this door! Hurry! I have to save Peter! Please!â She pleads to us, frantically, making Leon and I share a look. âWeâll never get to the cathedral at this rate.â Helena grumbles.Â
âCome on, we gotta get her outta there.â Leon said and he and run to the car door as the woman keeps hitting the door with her fist. âOpen up! Please open up!â She shouts and we get the door open. She runs and stumbles out of the train car then heads over to the door.
âWait, no! Donât open that!â I shout at her but too late she pressed the button and the door starts to open, slowly. âOh God. Peter! Peter, hang on! Iâm coming!â She shouts just as the growls and groans got louder. The door opens and before we could do anything, a zombie jumps on her. I raise and fire my gun at the zombie but it was too late as it chomped on her, killing her.
The door opens, revealing stairs, and a few zombies come down. The three of us take them out and head up the stairs and make our way up. âGood, you made it. You can reach the street level from there.â Hunnigan said in our comms, which told me that we had made it to the surface. âWhat are conditions like up there?â Leon asked her. âItâs gotten pretty bad. Hell on Earth isnât much of a stretch.â Hunnigan informed. âThatâs encouraging.â I muttered.
âYou three will have to cross that part of town to get to the cathedral. Keep your lines open in case you run into trouble.â Hunnigan said as we get out of the station and out into the city. Then a few zombies come at us including a zombie firefighter, that one comes at me while the other come at Leon and Helena. I was able to dodge the zombie then noticed the firefighter had an axe so I pull the axe out of the firefighterâs hand then swing it to cut the head off of the zombie.
âGuys, look out!â Helena shouts as we hear screeching tears. I look up and see a car coming at us but then it swerves to the left and misses us, crashing into a pole. âWhy do I feel like this is just the tip of the icebergâŚâ Leon mutters as we run along the road. Up ahead, there was a pile up on cars and one person pinned under a car, calling out for help.
âHold on, weâll get you out!â I shouted at the man and Leon and I go up to the car and push on it. We get the car off of him but then we hear another roar of engine. Leon looks up, grabs me, pulls me towards him and moves us out of the way as I see a motorcycle coming at us, crashing into the spot we just occupied which also meant that guy we tried to save was killed.
âHunnigan was rightâŚEverythingâs gone to hell!â Helena exclaimed while I stared at the dead man, feeling pity for him and guilt for not being able to save him. âHurry! We donât have time to deal with them.â Helena tells us and I look up at Leon, who looked just as upset as I did. He sighs and we start to make our way through the town.
âHaving a bad case of dĂŠjĂ vuâŚâ Leon said as we see nothing but fire, zombies, cars crashing into objects and people running in terror. And to be honest I too was having that case as well.
âGuess weâre not going that way.â I said when an ambulance crashed in front of us, blocking our way. Then we head towards a bar and make our way inside of it. âGood idea. Youâll be safer if you keep indoors as much as possible.â Hunnigan tells us. âMaybe we can even catch our breath.â I said, hopeful. âDidnât you hear me say we have to hurry?â Helena asked, angrily, and I give her a hard stare.Â
This woman was starting to irritate me a bit.
I wanted to say something but I kept my mouth shut as we continue on through the bar, to the backyard then go around into the back door of an apartment building next to it, the tv blaring the news in the living room. Something about a Navy submarine going missing sometime ago and that it sent a transmission about an attack from an unknown organization.
We make our way out of that building and head into another one. Inside of it at the end of the hall was another zombie chomping on a guy. But then the oddest thing was that the zombie started to grow and his stomach started to get larger, like a bull frog, before it lets out a roar, which alerted nearby zombies and they started to climb up on the fence. As the zombie roared, this made the three of us cringe in pain.
âWhat is that!?â Helena said, horrified. âUgh, that screamâŚitâs like nails on a chalkboard.â Leon groans before we run after the monster and fire at it. The monster lets out another scream and I clap my hands over my ears, the sound of its scream felt like it was stabbing my eardrums. Leon, fighting through the pain, raises his gun and fires at the stomach/pouch of the monster which killed it.
âThank God for that.â I muttered as I removed my hands from my ears and we continue to make our way out. Going through some fire escapes until we got into the back door of a bar. We then make our way to the front door and open it, revealing the center of the neighborhood which was currently on fire.
âWhy is this happening!?â A woman screams and we look ahead to the right, towards a small gas station, and see a group of survivors getting surrounded by zombies as a couple of them were shooting at them. âNo! I donât wanna die!â The woman screamed. âSurvivors, come on! We have to help âem.â Leon said and Helena sighs, annoyed. âAll right.â She grumbles before Leon and I take off running towards them to help. We take out the ones that we right up on the group before we hear noises behind us.
We turn around and see some more zombies and monsters popping up. âWhere the hell are they coming from?â One of the male survivors said. âMy first day as a cop and already Iâm in a shootout!â Another male survivor exclaims and Leon looks over at me and I shrug. âToo close to home?â I asked him and he scoffs and roll his eyes before we helped with the shootout.
Then an ambulance roars down the road towards us and all of us jump out of the way as the ambulance crashes into the gas station. The back door opens and reveals some more zombies inside. âSomeone shoot the gas! We can blow these things to kingdoms come!â One of the men said. âBack up!â I shout and everyone backs away and I ready my aim and fire at the gas tank.
Once the bullet made contact with the tank, a large explosion happens and all of us fall back from the impact. Helena, Leon and I get back up on our feet when the cop survivor comes up to us. âHey, câmon! Itâs safer here! Thereâs a gun shop up ahead. We can rearm there.â He tells us as Leon helps me up to my feet.
âWhaddya think?â He asked me and Helena. âI donât see any other optionsâŚâ Helena replied as I nod in agreement. Leon nods at the cop and he leads us towards the gun shop down the road.
âHey! Is anyone here?â The cop calls out once we entered the gun shop. âYeah, me! Iâm holed up in the second floor! Beat it!â Another gruffer sounding man said from the floor above. We entered the shop and turned a corner to see a set of stairs leading up to a door, the cop goes up to the door and pounds his fist against it.
âCâmon, man! Open up! You gotta let us in!â He shouts. âForget it! Those things are crawling all over my shop! So unless you wanna get rid of âem, this door stays closed!â The gun shop owner shouts. âWho does he think we are, exterminators?â Leon asked, annoyed. âArenât we technically?â I asked and Leon scoffs a laugh before all of us get into position at the windows and started firing at the oncoming hoard as they shamble their way towards us.
âShit, my gunâs jammed!â One guy said and he tosses his gun aside then goes towards the girl and starts to grab her pistol. âGimme your gun!â He growls and the gun goes off but misses him. He glares at the girl then yanks the gun out of her hands. âYeah, you idiots can fight it out if you want! Iâm getting the hell outta here!â The guy said and he jumps out the window and runs. âAsshole.â I grumbled and fired at a few zombies.
âNo! Get the hell away from me!â I hear the coward shout and I see him out on the streets, firing a headshot at a zombie. He  walks up to the zombie but then the body convulses before it gets up. The zombieâs body turns almost inside out then opens its large sharped teeth and jumps the guy. âPeter, no!â The woman screams, despairingly.
âWhat the fuck?â I muttered as Leon goes to grab a couple of shotguns and hands me one. We load the guns and aim it as the new monster comes at us and we fire at it, it took a few bullets but it eventually goes down. All of us stop and catch a breath, looking out at the window to see no more zombies.
âHey! Pretty quiet down thereâŚyou guys still breathing?â The store owner asked. âFor the time beingâŚStoreâs clear! You wanna let us in now?â The officer asked. ââŚ.All right. Get your asses up here, before I change my mind.â The owner said. âBout time.â I muttered just as the shutters close on all of the windows. The door upstairs opens and the owner looks down at us. âCome on!â He shouts and we all head upstairs.
âNice work down there. Good news is, Iâve got some folks commonâ for me in a bus. Any minute now.â The owner tells us once he shuts the door behind us as Leon, Helena, the remaining survivors and I entered the room. âIf we can make it, itâs a straight shot to the Tall Oaks Cathedral. People are evacuating there. Heard it on the radio. But thatâs a big âifâ. Itâs a shit storm out there. We ainât wait inâ for any stragglers.â He tells us and we hear noises out the window and see that some monster had made their way up the scalping and fire escape and weâre heading towards us.
We fire and kill the monster as the owner works in a nearby panel and gets the shutters over the windows once more. âWe canât hold out here! Get in to the next room!â He tells us and he runs over to the other door and opens it. All of us run inside and he closes it then places a bar over the door.
We huddle into the room and I stand next to Leon as we all stay quiet. Suddenly, there was a low rumble and we all stare at the door. All of a sudden, the door bursts open and a large rotund zombie barges in and all of us fire at the monster. âLooks like this one enjoyed pizza and Big Macâs too much.â I quipped to Leon and he chuckles. âYeah, didnât realize they come in extra large now.â He said to me.
âDammit, any more weight and the floorâs gonna collapse!â The owner shouts and we continue to shoot at the monster. âCome on, you big tub âa shit!â The owner shouts and I look around to find a machete near me. I grab it, run at the monster and sliced at it across the stomach. It roars at me and tries to attack me but I ducked and dodged it then stabbed it in the stomach.
It lets out a grunt and I move the machete to the right, causing the blade to rip across the monster until the blade exits the body. The monster tumbles to the left and I go towards the head and bring the blade down on the head. I let out a shaky breath that I didnât realize I held before I look at the others. âEveryone ok?â I asked and everyone nods as the owner heads towards another door. âThis way! Câmon, move it! Move it!â He shouts and everyone heads towards the other door while I pull the machete out of the zombieâs head and swung the blade to fling off the blood.
âYou okay?â Leon asked as he comes over to me. âYeah, fine.â I said and we follow everyone through the door which lead to a staircase going up. We all run up the stairs and end up on the roof to see a few zombies on the roofs of other buildings.
Then a loud roar of an engine was heard below us and I look down and see that the bus had made it. âThe bus is here!â I shouted. âWe have to get down to the street!â The owner said and he goes to the emergency exit door and opens it then gestures for us to follow him. We run all the way down the exit and make our way into the bus.Â
âGet us outta here!â Leon tells the driver but then another large zombie was at the front of the bus and grabbed the bus, stopping us from moving. âThat tub a âlardâs in our way!â The store owner shouted and we all fire at it. But then the owner screams and I see him getting pulled out of the bus by a zombie. Another survivor calls out to him in Japanese and runs out after him.
As Leon and Helena and a couple of the remaining survivors fire at the big guy, I run over to the back of the bus and see the store owner and the younger man tackled on the ground then aim my gun at one of the zombies and fire at them. But suddenly, the owner pulls out a grenade and it explodes, killing all of them. âDamn, he was so close to making it!â I grumble before Leon and Helena got the monster to let go of the bus. âGo! Move!â Leon shouts and the driver steps in the gas and runs over the monster.
It took a bit but we were able to crush the monster and we takeoff and out of the city.
ââŚ90% of the population in Tall Oaks has been infected with the virus. That rounds out to about 70,000 hostile. We also received word that an organization named Neo-Umbrella just claimed responsibility for the attack.â Hunnigan tells us over Leonâs phone after we got some miles behind us of the city. Hearing that name catches mine and Leonâs attention. âNeo-Umbrella?â Leon said as he and I share a concerning look.
I never thought Iâd hear Umbrella again.
âI know what you two are thinking.â Hunnigan said. âYeah. This is Raccoon City all over again.â Leon said and I grab his free hand. âThatâs all the news Iâve got. Now itâs your turn to help me. I need to know whatâs in that cathedral. Iâve got suits breathing down my neck for info.â Hunnigan said. âSuits?â I asked her. âSpecifically, Derek C. SimmonsâŚNational Security Advisor.â Hunnigan said and I furrow my brow in confusion.
âWhat!? Are you kiddingâŚâ I started to ask when the driver shouts. âHang on!â We look out just as we see a zombie on the road. The bus hits it and the driver starts to lose control, all of us fall on the floor as the bus skids and swerves until it hit a cliff. The back half hangs off the edge.
The remaining passengers began to scream as zombies come up to the window and grab at them while more started to make their way into the bus. Helena, Leon and I fire at them as the bus started to tip over. âWeâre going over!â Helena shouts. âBrace yourselves!â Leon shouts just as we hear a horn then an oncoming truck.Â
Bright headlights shines at us as a large semi truck comes at us. âGet a hold of something!â I shout and the truck hits us and the three of us and the bus fly off of the cliff and tumble to the ground below. The three of us were in midair as the bus flies off and Leon makes a grab for me and pulls me towards him before everything goes black.
Leon aims his gun, as steady as he could, towards the President who is now a zombie. Leonâs hands shake a bit as he watches the zombified version of the president chowing down on another fallen citizen.
The zombie president raises its head and looks up at Leon, who still has the gun trained on him. âStay right where you are!â He orders while the zombie president shambles its way towards Leon. âMr President!â Leon yelled while a woman, Helena, stands by with her own gun aimed.
âDonât make me do this.â Leon pleads as the zombie president gets closer and closer. Then the zombie got real close to Helena and Leon had no choice but to shoot him in the head. Helena lets out small sobs while Leon stares at the dead body of the president.
âItâs all my fault.â Helen whispers, shakily. âIâŚI did this.â She said, stunned, as she looks over at Leon. âWhat are you talking about?â Leon asked her. Helena holsters her gun then wipes her eyes. âTall Oaks CathedralâŚIâll explain everything there, Agent Kennedy.â She tells him and he looks at her, confused.
âHow do you know my name?â He asked her. But before she could answer a phone rings and both Helena and Leon reach for their phones. But Leonâs phone wasnât the one that rang, it was Helenaâs. âYes?â Helena answered and Leon walks up next to her to she was on video call with a familiar face.
âHunnigan?â He said, confused. âThank God youâre both all right.â Hunnigan said, relieved. âHow do you two know each other?â Leon asked Hunnigan. âThatâs Helena Harper, sheâs been with the Secret Service since last year. I canât tell you how good it is to hear you two are all right. Look, I hate to rush the introductions but I need a report on your situation.â Hunnigan said and Leon and Helena look over at the presidentâs dead body.
âIâŚI just shot the president.â Leon admits, in stunned disbelief. âWhat are youâŚâ Hunnigan started to say, shocked, but Helena talks over before he could respond. âHe had already been infected by the time we found him.â She said. âLeonâŚLeon did what he had to do. He saved my life.âÂ
âGod help us.â Hunnigan said, devastated, and she sits there for a moment as workers scrambled behind her. âAll right. Iâll submit the report. You two just focus on getting the hell out of there. The virus has already spread three miles past the campus perimeter and itâs not slowing down. You need to hurry.â Hunnigan said as Leon started to feel worried, (y/n) was still in the town and he needed to warn her.
He starts to pull up her contact information on his phone when Helena speaks up. âNot before we check out Tall Oaks Cathedral. Agent Kennedyâs got a lead that might tell us whoâs responsible for this.â Helena said and Leon raises his head towards Helena, confused.
âLeon, is that true?â Hunnigan asked and Leon looks at her then at Helena. âYeah, I think I might have something.â He replied, looking back at Hunnigan. âRoger that. Iâll map out the safest access route. Keep your radio on.â Hunnigan said before she ended the call.
âI got a lead?â Leon asked Helena, confused. âYou will if you come with me.â Helena tells him and Leon sighs before he looks down at the presidentâs body and gives a moment of silence for his fallen friend. âAdamâŚIâm sorryâŚâ he said then he turns to Helena.
âSo whatâs so special about this church? You have some sins to confess?â He asked her. âItâs hard to explain. If I donât tell you at the cathedralâŚyou may not believe me.â She said and Leon sighs. âYouâre gonna tell me everything once we get to the cathedral. Deal?â He said. âDeal.â She said, nodding, and Leon sighs as he looks down at his phone, just in time to see that he got a text from (y/n).
Call me, please!
âShit.â Leon muttered and he steps away from Helena as she looks over her phone. He could tell by her text that she was beyond worried. He presses the call button over her contact info, she answered after one ring, her face appearing on the video screen.
âLeon?!â She answered, fear and worry was etched all over her face. âIâm okay.â He replied and she sighs with relief. âOh my God, I was so worried.â She said, relieved but with a hint of fear. âListen, (y/n), you need to get out of town now!â He said. âWhat? Why?â (Y/n) asked him. âHunnigan said that the virus is spreading and itâs getting worse.â Leon tells her and there was a pause before she speaks again.
âThen Iâm coming to you.â (Y/n) said. âNo, I need you to get out safe.â Leon argued. âIâm not leaving you behind.â She said, firmly, and Leon stops and stares at her. He knew better than to argue with her, once her mind is made up she can never be stopped. It was something he loved but also hated about her. âYouâre still at the campus, right?â (Y/n) asked and Leon sighs. âYeah, I am.â He said and (y/n) nods. âGuess Iâll cancel our dinner reservations and then Iâll be there as soon as I can.â (Y/n) tells him and Leon gives a small smirk.
âSorry about thisâŚâ he said. âHey, when did we ever have a normal life?â She asked and Leon chuckles. âProbably during those months when you were pregnant with Isaiah.â Leon said and she chuckles alittle. âYeah, I guess youâre right. Anyway, Iâll call Hunnigan, tell her Iâm on my way to you and Iâll see you in a few.â (Y/n) said. âOkay, I love you.â He said and (y/n) smiles at him. âLove you too.â She said and she ends the call as Leon scoffs alittle, the smirk still on his face, as he pockets his phone.Â
âGot us a ride once we get out of here.â Leon said as he walks over to Helena, who puts her phone away. She nods at him and Leon starts to leave the room, Helena follows. âYou see one of them, aim for the head. Itâs your best bet.â Leon tells her. âGot it.â She replied as they head on, their guns drawn.
*(y/n)âs POV*
âAre you serious?!â Jill said, concerned, over the video call. After I talked to Leon, I had a quick talk with Hunnigan to figure out Leonâs exact location. Immediately afterwards, I called Jill to give her an update. âLeon did look very serious and even tried to get me to leave.â I tell her as I hear Isaiah playing with his toys in the background. âMust be bad.â She said, with concern. âFrom how Leon and Hunnigan talked, it could be Raccoon City bad.â I said and Jill had a concern but also fearful look on her face.
â(y/n)âŚâ her voice trembled with worry. âIâll be fine, Jill. JustâŚwatch over Isaiah for us, okay?â I tell her and she nods. âBe careful.â She tells me and I give her a small smile. âIâll let you know when we get out.â I said. We say our goodbyes before I hang up, grab my jacket, put it on, grabbed my comms earpiece, flashlight and start to head out.
As I got into my Charger, my phone rang and I look at the caller ID and see that it is Derek Simmons calling me. I let out a heavy, annoyed sigh. âWhat the hell does he want?â I muttered to myself as I press the answer button, his face appears on screen and I use my free hand to start up my car.Â
âMr. Simmons, to what do I owe the pleasure of getting this call?â I asked, in a bit of a sarcastic tone. âWhatâs this I hear youâre heading to the campus in Tall Oaks?â He asked, sounding a bit angry. âUh, Iâm not understanding why this is important but if you must know, I am going to get my husband and get him out of there.â I said. âYou canât do that, itâs too dangerous.â Mr Simmons declared and I scoff out a laugh. âIâve been through worse.â I said, honestly.
âI just think itâs better if you stayed out of that area and head back home. Mr Kennedy is a capable man to take care of himselfâŚâ Simmons argued as I put my seatbelt on and start to leaving the parking lot of the hotel. âI know he is but this is for my sake. I need to know heâs ok.â I said. âThink of your son!â Simmons shouts and this made me alittle angry. âDonât let Isaiah become an orphan. Heâs gonna need his mother.â Simmons said and I glared at him, how dare he bring my son into this! But I take in a deep breath, let it out then look back at Simmons.
âI appreciate your concern, Mr Simmons, but Iâm a grown woman. Iâll do what I want, itâs my choice! And Iâm going to go get my husband and get him back home safely.â I said then let out a small sigh as I get right at the exit of the parking lot, and look out at the road. âI survived Raccoon City and Spain, I can survive this.â I said in a low voice, lowering my gaze at the steering wheel before turning it back to the phone where Simmonsâ face appeared to be displeased. âAlso, donât ever bring my son up again.â I threatened and he looked like he was about to argue but I hang up on him then drove out of the lot and headed to the campus.
Once I got close to the campus, thatâs when the craziness really began to emerge. The zombies seemed to be in almost every corner, I couldnât believe itâŚ.this definitely was like Raccoon City. Suddenly, a zombie seemed to have appeared in the middle of the road and I swerve around it almost at the last minute. âDamn, that was close.â I muttered but I see a few more zombies start shambling towards my car but I do my best to swerve around them.
I raised my right hand up to my right ear and placed two fingers on the comms. âHunnigan, how far am I from the campus?â I asked her. âI can send you their location on your Maps, they should show up.â Hunnigan replied and I grab my phone and click on the Map app to see Leonâs location.
âWaitâŚthey?â I asked once I realized what she said. âYes, Helena Harper is with him.â Hunnigan replied and I make a noise of acknowledgement as I remember hearing that name floating around the past year. I look at the map and see Leon and Helena running along the east side of the campus. âOkay, I see them! Iâm not too far.â I said. âAlright, Iâm gonna put you through their comms.â Hunnigan said and I could see the campus just up ahead.
Through the comms, I could hear running footsteps, some background moans and groans from the zombies and the quick, heavy breathing from Leon and Helena. âSomebody order a ride?â I asked and the breathing stop before Leon speaks. â(Y/n)?â He said and I chuckled alittle. âWho else would it be?â I asked, snarky. âAnyway, Iâm almost to your location. How far are you guys?â I asked as I hear a gate open then close. âI think once we get through hereâŚâ Leon said just as a loud blaring noise sounds out. âThatâs all we need.â Helena, I assumed, said in an annoyed but also sarcastic voice. âGo!â Leon said and I hear them run as I see on the map of them getting close to the exit. I come upon the campus and take the turn that was close their location and down this little roadway.
âTake a right up ahead!â Hunnigan shouts and I get to the end of the road, the passenger side facing the exit. The little dots of Leon and Helena take a right like Hunnigan told them. âYouâre almost there! Keep running!â She said as I stop and see through the passenger window Leon and Helena running towards me. I press the unlock button just as they get to the car doors. âCâmon!â I shout and Leon opens the passenger door and gets inside just as Helena gets into the backseat behind him.
Right as they shut the door, a couple of zombies started to slam themselves up against the car. âShit!â Leon growls and I put the car in reverse. âEveryone buckled in?â I asked, just as a zombie flops on the hood of the car. âYeah.â Helena and Leon said and I slam on the gas pedal. The car roars and takes off backwards; I turn to look behind me, my right hand on headrest of Leonâs seat, and make sure I make it to the main road. Once I do, I make a swift J-Turn which knocked the zombie off of my hood and I recorrect the steering wheel and we drive away from the campus.
âWe made it off campus. Now we just gotta get through townâŚâ Leon said. âWithout getting killed.â Helena added. âTown has already turned into a hellhole.â I said and I glanced to my left, out my window, before I let out a surprised gasp, seeing a zombie had somehow made it on the roof of my car and was leaning over, looking in. Leon and Helena also let out surprised gasps and I look to the front and see another zombie hanging off from the rooftop.
âShit!â I grumbled and I spin the wheel but seemed I spun it too hard as the car turned, tipped over and we began to roll then crash into other cars, which were on fire. The Charger stopped on its hood. I groan in pain as Leon said. âShit.â
âYou okay?â I asked him. âYeah, fine. You?â He asked me. âCould be better. Helena?â I said. âIâm fine.â She said as she starts to get out of the car and Leon and I follow her. âLeon! (Y/n)! Helena! Are you guys all right?â Hunnigan asked, panicked. âHanginâ in there. But we need another way to the cathedral.â Leon said as we look in front of us to see the tunnel was blocked with wrecked cars that were on fire.
âWell, Iâve found an underground route that may be safer.â Hunnigan said as Helena goes up to a large manhole and points it out to us. âThe sewers, huh? Great.â Leon grumbles and I sigh at this. âAlways the sewers.â I mumbled and we make our way down the manhole.
Once we get into the sewers, the three of us turn on our flashlights and look around to see a normal looking sewers, the sounds of squeaks from the rats. Then a loud groan was heard and we all turn to look at one of the tunnels. âWe should hurry.â Helena said and she starts to walk ahead.
âWhatâs the matter? Not a fan of sewers?â Leon asked her and she stops and turns to us. âCome on, letâs just get to the cathedral and then Iâll tell you everything.â Helena said and I look between her and Leon. âWait, whatâsâŚâ I started to ask but Helena talks over me. âIâll tell you everything but like I said, not til we get to the cathedral.â She said and I look over at Leon as he looked to be in deep thought.
Then he raised his eyes to me as if to ask me about my opinion. âYou know Iâm always with you, Leon.â I said. His gaze softens as he looks at me before he looks at Helena with determination. âItâs gonna be a tough road.â Leon said and Helena nods the gestures for us to follow her.
âLetâs get moving. We donât have much time.â She said. âCertainly got our work cut out for us.â Leon said. âBelieve me. I know.â Helena said and we start to make our way deeper into the sewers.
Chris Redfield and his team from the B.S.A.A. were here as they had gotten word about B.O.Wâs and some Jâavoâs running around in the area. So far they have encounter a few including a large B.O.W that looked like a mountain troll youâd see in fantasy movies.
It felt never ending, they just kept coming.
Chris even met up with Sherry Birkin, the young girl he remembered his sister, Claire, told him about during her time in Raccoon City. Course she wasnât a little girl anymore and she wasnât alone. She was with a young man, a mercenary Chris found out, named Jake but according to Sherry, he was under government protection.Â
They even helped Chris and his team with the B.O.Wâs. Eventually, Chris got them into a âcopter so they could get to safety, even though Piers, one of his teammates, strongly disagreed on letting Jake go. But Chris told him that wasnât important right now and they needed to stay focused on their mission.
Sometime later, they make it to one of the abandoned mansions and entered inside, looking for any bioweapons. They did find some and took them out and started to make their way downstairs and into a basement area where the floor was littered with small syringe containers.
âCaptain.â Piers said as he hands one of the syringes to Chris, who examines it. âC-Virus.â A female voice said and Chris, Piers and his team turn, aiming their guns to a corner where they see a figure standing there. âThats what the guerrillas were calling it.â The voice said as she emerges from the darkness and raises her hands, giving a small laugh.Â
âNice to see the cavalryâs here.â The woman said as Chris gets a better look at her and immediately recognized her. It was (y/n), Jillâs sister. What the hell is she doing here? Chris thought as he lowers his gun and she walks out into the light, wearing a blue dress, a red scarf and black heels. â(Y/n)? The hell you doing here?â Chris asked her. âOn a job. They held me hostage.â She tells Chris and he turns to his men. âLower your weapons.â He orders them.
âYou know her?â Piers asked Chris. âSheâs a sister of an old partner of mine.â Chris tells him the looks towards (y/n). âC-Virus, you said?â He asked and she nods, with a small smirk. âThat must be whatâs creating those Jâavo.â He said to his crew. âYeah. I heard them saying something about that.â (Y/n) said.
âWhat else did you hear?â Piers asked her. âNeo-Umbrella.â She replied and Chris looked taken aback. âNeo-Umbrella?â He said, confused. âThe organization supporting the guerrillas. Or at least I think thatâs what they were calling themselves.â (Y/n) informed.
âSo the C-Virus came from them.â Piers said, questioning. âThatâs all I know.â (Y/n) replied. âThank you. We appreciate your cooperation.â Chris said and she nods. âFinn. Youâre in charge of keeping her safe.â Chris said, turning to one of his teammates. âYes, sir!â Finn said and he walks up to (y/n) while Chris turns to Piers. âKeep an eye on her.â He mutters to him. âWill do.â Piers said and he walks up next to Finn.
âCome on. Iâll show you a quick way back to the entrance.â (Y/n) tells him and she opens a door then leads them down a hall toward a large green and gold door, which Piers opens. They make it to the main entrance but there were several B.O.Wâs and the crew open firing at them.
âEveryone, get to the second floor! The foyerâs too dangerous!â One of the crew members shout and Chris, Piers, (y/n) and Finn make their way to the stairs. Chris, Piers and the rest of the team started to fire while (y/n) went towards the door and gets it to open.
âThereâs a way out on the second floor. I suggest we take it.â She tells them. The whole squad runs in and one of the soldiers presses the button next to the door, which closed the door.
They fight their way through the secret passageway as there were a few more B.O.Wâs and Jâavoâs. They enter another room and started to search around it but nothing was inside. Piers turned around to check on everyone but noticed that someone was missing. (Y/n) was nowhere to be found.
âThat woman â sheâs gone.â He tells Chris, who turns around to see he was right. âFinn!â Piers yelled as Finn looked around, concerned. âI donât know what happened. She was here a second ago!â Finn said, panicked, while Chris was confused. This wasnât like (y/n).
But then a gate on the other side closed and he looks up and sees another gate coming down. He and Piers jump back as the gate kept them and the rest of their team apart. The soldiers look all around in confusion as to why this was happening while Chris and Piers got up and looked in.
Footsteps were heard and Chris could see (y/n) walking up to the gate across from them. â(Y/n), what the hell?â He asked as his men turned to look at her. âThanks for the escort. Hereâs something to remember me by.â She said, smiling, and she tosses in a small round orb into the room.
The orbâs casing breaks apart and shoots several needles into the soldiers, leaving Chris and Piers to watch helplessly. Then the men all groan and scream in while (y/n) walks away. âNo. No! Gah damn it, no!â Chris shouted as some of the men fell over and started to burst into flames.
Chris and Piers tried to get the gate open but nothing was working. âFinn, hang in there!â Chris shouted as the men started to turn into those cocoons. âCaptain!â Finn groans out, reaching out for Chris as he slowly turned into one of those cocoons.
Chris shouts to his fallen brothers and reached out for Finn as well but it was too late and Finn and the others turned into those cocoon statues. Chris falls to his knees, distraught, while Piers stared in anger.Â
But then one of the cocoons starts to burst open. âCaptain, we gotta move!â Piers yells, Chris looks up and sees a couple of the Napad, hulking figures with harden shells in their bodies; Almost like humanoid crabs, coming at them. âNow! We gotta go!â Piers shouts and he and Chris raise their guns as the Napads burst through the gate and attack.
They fire their guns but one of the Napadâs grabs Chris, slams him up against the wall and repeatedly beats him up then throws him on the hard floor. Chrisâs head hits the floor first, hard, and knocks him out. âChris!â Piers shouts and he fires at the Napad and drags the unconscious Chris away to safety.
Meanwhile, Jake and Sherry got into a helicopter accident when a Ustanak, large indestructible creature, chased after them. They crashed into the mountains and hid away in a cabin, waiting for the government to come get them. There Jake learned that Sherry has a form of the G-Virus still within her thanks to her father back when she was a little girl. Thatâs how she was able to heal herself after he had to remove a large chunk of debris out of her back. But they were suddenly attacked by the Jâavo and they made their escape into the mountains. There they encountered a couple of Ustanakâs and were able to kill it with a large drill they found.
They run out of the mountain and into the light when they see some more Jâavo coming at them. Jake and Sherry were ready to fight but then a Ustanak came up behind them and knocked Sherry out then punched Jake, causing him to fall to the ground.
Jake looks over at Sherry but she doesnât move. âCome on, supergirl.â He whispers and the Ustanak towers over him and slams its foot on his back. Then a group of Jâavo walk up along with a woman in a blue dress, red scarf and black boots, at the front.
Jake looks up at her and laughs when he recognized her as the woman who gave him and the other mercenaries these shots. She claimed they were nutritional supplements and they would help them but of course it wasnât supplements, it was doses of the C-Virus.
âYou know, those shots of yours pack one hell of a punch, lady.â Jake sneered and the woman, (y/n), kneeled down to him. âSo, youâre Wesker Junior.â She said, curiously. âWesker? You lost me.â Jake said. âAlbert Wesker was a colossal imbecile, a fool who tried to destroy the world. He was also your father.â (Y/n) said and this stuns Jake.
âWhat?!â He said, shocked. âWhich makes you heir to a very special blood type.â (Y/n) said and Jake lowers his head, too stunned to speak as he takes in this information. (Y/n) stands up then gestures to the Ustanak and walks away. The Ustanak raises its foot high up in the air and Jake looks up just in time to see it come down on him, knocking him out cold.

Chapter 5: In The End, Nothing Really Changes
Previous Chapter
*3rd Person POV*
Leon, Buddy and (y/n) run out of the palace and out into the road when they hear a man shout. âHelp me!â They stop and look over to see the Tyrant walking out, holding the man by the head. It squeezes the manâs head until it explodes. Buddy was getting ready to take it on but Leon stops him and shakes his head then gestures for him to follow him.
Moments later, the Tyrant tosses the dead man down then looks over to its left and see Leon and (y/n) running. It starts to follow after them but once it got around the corner, it lost the couple. It starts to go to another section of the capital while Leon and (y/n) hid behind a pillar.
As it walks past, Leon and (y/n) run out of their hiding spot and fire at the Tyrant. The monster turns and goes to punch at them but the duo dodge and run up behind the pillars of the building. The Tyrant punches at one of the pillars then chases after the duo before the Tyrant lunges at them and they moved away from it.
The Tyrant stands up and looks to its left and sees Buddy standing there as several Lickers come up next to Buddy. Two of the Lickers run at the Tyrant and their tongues grab at each of the Tyrantâs arms and restraint it as another Licker runs at the monster, leaps up and slices at the Tyrantâs chest.
A fourth Licker starts to run but the Tyrant swings its right arm around and slams the Licker that was holding it down in the ground then swings it at the oncoming Licker, killing both of them. Then the Tyrant yanks its left arm and slams that Licker down then walks up to it, as it twitches, and stomps on the Licker.
It looks up at another Licker before the Licker turns and runs. The Tyrant chases after it as the Licker maneuvers around in the parking lot until it gets to a gas truck and the Tyrant punches the Licker into the back of the gas container.
Leon grabs a gun from an army truck and loads it then aims it at the gas truck. âNice work, pal.â Leon compliments and fires at the truck, causing an explosion. Leon, Buddy and (y/n) stare at the fireball before Buddy falls over, grunting and coughing.Â
But through the flames the Tyrant emerged and lets out a roar as its robes fall off of it and it grows larger and more muscular. Buddy glares at it and commands the Lickers to attack the Tyrant, which takes them out easily and heads for Buddy. âGet out of there!â (Y/n) yells at Buddy as she grabs a rocket launcher.Â
She aims it and Buddy jumps back as the Tyrant gets closer. She fires it and the rocket hits the road in front of the Tyrant and it looks towards her and Leon as they load the launcher again. (Y/n) fires the rocket again but the Tyrant grabs the rocket and tosses it upwards.
The rocket goes up then heads down towards the army truck near Leon and (y/n). They run away but the rocket hits the truck and the explosion pushes the duo back. The Tyrant runs at them as they get back up and Leon pushes (y/n) aside so the Tyrant could attack him and not her.
The Tyrant uppercuts Leon and he flies up in the air and the monster grabs Leon and throws him towards the pillar. Leon falls on his front while (y/n) gets up, pulls out her gun and fires at the monster but it turns to her, grabs her and throws her as well. She hits another pillar and falls on her front as well and coughs.
âYou really shouldnât have done that.â Leon growls as the Tyrant looms over him. Leon stands up and the monster grabs him and holds him up against the pillar, Leon struggles in its grip as the Tyrant raises its other hand and curls it into a fist. (Y/n) looks up and her eyes widen in fear. âNo!â She shouts just as three Lickers jumped on the Tyrant and attacks it.
(y/n) looks over and see Buddy glaring at the Tyrant as the Lickers crawl all over the Tyrant. (Y/n) pulls out her pistol and aims it at the arm that was still holding Leon and fires at it. The Tyrant then swings its arm around and tosses Leon aside as it goes to fight the Lickers.
Leon rolls a few feet behind the Tyrant and lays there. (Y/n) gets up and runs over to Leon as he slowly gets up. âLeon? You okay?â She asked, worried, but before he could respond the Tyrant tosses one Licker off of him, rips the second one in half and grabs the third one by the head.
The monster then turns to the duo and Leon gets up to his knees and tries to fire his gun but it clicks and (y/n) fires her gun at the Tyrant until she runs out of bullets. The Tyrant looks over them until an engine sounds out. They all look over and see a tank coming at them. The tanks drives at the Tyrant and the monster tosses the Licker aside and grabs the tank as it pushes it back while Buddy, who was driving it, lets out a yell.Â
âYou really want to fight this out, huh?â Buddy shouts at the Tyrant as it plants its feet down, preventing the tank from moving. The tyrant then picks it up as Leon and (y/n) run towards the tank and Leon jumps inside the tank gun. âSorry for butting in.â Leon said as (y/n) stands on top of the tank, reloads her gun and fires at the Tyrant.
Leon moves the muzzle to the Tyrant and fires but the monster dodges it. âYou can run, but you canât hide.â Leon said as (y/n) continues to fire at the monster. Leon continues to moves the muzzle but the Tyrant keeps move away until it hits the side of its head. âAh, come on. Donât be shy.â Leon taunts and he keeps hitting the Tyrantâs head until it picks the tank up higher. (Y/n) begins to stumble and falls backwards on the ground.
Then Lickers start to run up and one jumps over the tank and latches on to the Tyrantâs head. âNow!â Buddy shouts and Leon aims the muzzle at the Tyrant. âThis might hurt alittle.â He said and he fires, killing the kicker and the Tyrant. (Y/n) backs away as the tank plops down then runs over the Tyrant.
(Y/n) gets up as the tank slides over on the side and she gasp then runs at the tank. Leon climbs out of it and (y/n) runs over to him and embraces him. He hugs her back and they hold each other for a bit before they pull back from the embrace, share a smile, then turn to look at the dead Lickers.
âDidnât expect us to be saved by B.O.W.s.â Leon said. âThereâs a first for everything.â She said as Buddy grunts and start to climb out of the tank. The couple walk over to him and Leon holds a hand out to him. âWanna go grab a few beers?â He asked Buddy, who looks up at him. âAre you buying?â He asked as he holds his hands out to Leon but then pulls back.
âYou two will have to go without me.â Buddy said as another loud footsteps was heard. Leon and (y/n) turn and see another Tyrant walking towards them, then Leon looks over to his right and sees another Tyrant walking out. âCanât they find anybody else to play with?â (Y/n) asked, angrily, while Buddy grunts and doubles over.
Leon and (y/n) kneel down to him and Buddy looks up to the duo. âWhy donât you two go without me?â He asked as Leon and (y/n) go to either side of Buddy and place an arm over their shoulders. âWe like the company.â Leon said and they carry Buddy together.
Then a bell tolls from a distance. âWeâd better move a little faster.â Leon said as the duo carry Buddy and do their best to run while the Tyrants chase after them.Â
They were able to get into the middle of the capital and set Buddy down next to a fountain. Leon and (y/n) stand by as the Tyrants walks, slowly, towards them. The couple check their guns only to find out that they were out of ammo. Without any options, they pull out their knives then they share a look.
A silent conversation happening between the two, they could see the fear in each otherâs eyes but also the determination and the acceptance of what was about to happen. (Y/n) reaches her free hand out to him, grabs it and squeezes it as if to say I love you. Leon squeezes her hand back then they let go before getting into a stance to fight.
It doesnât matter that they were basically outmatched to these monsters, as long as they stand and fight, whether they die or not, itâll all be worth it.
The Tyrant gets close but then bullets from above rain down on the monster, Leon and (y/n) recoil back as the smoke clears and see that the bullets absolutely tore up the Tyrant leaving only parts of the lower half.
Leon and (y/n) look up and see a jet flying around and they see another Tyrant coming at them but before they could fight it, a rocket hits the Tyrant, killing it as well. The couple look up and see another jet flying by, realizing this was American jets.Â
âThey were keeping an eye on us the whole time.â Leon said  as they watch the jets flying over then the Russian and American armies enter the city.
âSoâŚâ Buddy said as he, Leon and (y/n) sit up on a balcony that sat upon a hill, overlooking the city below. âThe Americans and Russians had us in the palms of their hands from the beginning.â Buddy said as Leon and (y/n) lean over the stone railings. âThatâs what it looks like.â Leon said, somber.
âDid either of you know about this?â Buddy asked. âNo.â (Y/n) replied, honestly. âIf we did, weâd still be enjoying our vacation.â Leon adds as he takes out the flask and drinks from it. Buddy begins to cough again and Leon turns to him. âHey.â He said and tosses the flask to him and Buddy catches it.Â
Buddy looks up at the duo, Leon had turned away at this point, then he looks down at the flask, opens it and begins to drink from it. âIâve lost everything. My mentor, my friends.â Buddy said before he grunts in pain. âI have nothing left to fight for.â He grunts then looks up at the couple, their backs still to him. âKill me. Please.â Buddy pleads. âI donât want to change into one of those monsters.â
But neither Leon nor (y/n) say anything.
Buddy sets the flask down then pulls out his pistol from his holster. âWellâŚI guess there is no other choice.â Buddy mutters then he starts to aim his gun under his chin and he prepares to fire but Leon turns and grabs the gun out of his hand.
âIâd feel the same way if I was you.â Leon said as he looks down at Buddy, who was shaking. âBut the option of taking our own lives no longer belongs to us.â Leon said and he raises the gun and looks down at it while (y/n) had turned around and lean against the railings, her arms folded across her chest.
âOnce we start using these, we owe it to the people who died alongside us. We have to continue living. Even if it means living the rest of our lives without the use of our limbs.â Leon said, determined, then he gets into a stance and aims the gun at Buddy. âThat is my answer and your answerâŚBuddy.â Leon said and he lowers the gun, slightly, and fires.
Not killing him, just the Plaga that was attached to his spine.
*(y/n)âs POV*
âItâs been three days since the end of the civil war that tore through the Eastern Slav Republic. The fierce battles were halted thanks to the intervention of American and Russian troops. Today marks the first day in which the worldâs media has access to the city.â The reporter said on the TV as I walk in the living room of our home, holding Isaiah in my arms. Leon was sitting on the couch, watching the TV and also on the phone with Hunnigan.
I also noticed the bottle of bourbon on the side table next to the couch and the glass in Leonâs hand as he drinks from it. âA temporary government headed by the U.S. and Russia will be set up in the Eastern Slav Republic to maintain peace. Svetlana Belikova has resigned from her presidency and all companies that supported her and the former government will be thrown out of the country and dismantled.â Hunnigan informed, Leon not looking happy about this.
âTop brass knew about it right from the beginning, didnât they?â Leon asked, with a low growl, and I give him a worried look as he takes another shot of the bourbon. âThe report from Scarecrow tipped them off that Svetlana was in possession of B.O.W.s. Thatâs why they pulled out in a panic and ran like hell to join forces with the Russians.â Leon said as I look at the TV and watch the President shake hands with the Russian leader. âTo protect themselves, right?â Leon asked, in an almost accusatory manner.
âYouâre mistaken. The president had nothing to do with this. Not even we knew what was going on. You have to believe me.â Hunnigan pleads but Leon doesnât respond and I walk over to Leonâs side table and look down at Hunnigan. âIâm not even sure if I believe that, Hunnigan.â I said and Hunnigan looked shocked. âGuys! DonâtâŚ!âÂ
âWeâre not going anywhere.â Leon said, interrupting Hunnigan, as he grabs his phone and stands up. âIn the end, nothingâs really changed.â He said then he hangs up on her before letting out a sigh and rubs his eyes.Â
Isaiah coos then raises his little arms out towards Leon, obviously wanting to be held by his father. âLeonâŚâ I said, softly, and he lowers his hand, looks over at me and sees our son reaching out for him. He gives a small smile, walks up to me and takes Isaiah out of my arms to hold him.
Leon looks down at our son and his face softens as he stares at him. I reach out and place a comforting hand on his cheek, he looks at me as I give him a sympathetic look. We stare at each other for a moment before he raises his free hand to his face, grabs my hand, turns his head to kiss the palm of my hand before removing my hand off of him and walks out of the living room and heads up the stairs that was behind the couch, Isaiah laying his head on his fatherâs shoulder.
I let out a small sigh before looking back at the TV to see it still running the report on what happened at the Eastern Slav Republic. I scoff at it before I lean down, grab the remote and turn the TV off.

Chapter 4: Return Of The Tyrants
Previous Chapter / Final Chapter
The sun was high in the sky by the time Leon and I made it to the capital and it seemed that Buddy and his Lickers have already made it here. The front gate was torn apart, bodies of the guards were strewn across everywhere and there were a few dead Lickers among the casualties. âI keep saying these things make bad pets.â Leon remarks. âYeah, no shit.â I muttered as we made our way through the destroyed front gate.
âWe are under attack by terrorists. We need reinforcements, now!â A voice said from a radio nearby. âWe canât defend the palace much longer!â The male voice said, panicked, before he screams in terror then in pain before the radio cuts out. Then we could hear gunshots from the distance and we start to make our way to the palace.
We get inside of the building and see that it was a massacre inside, windows broken, pillars missing chunks, and several dead soldiers all scattered around. Leon and I get our guns read then walk out into the hallway, a large ornate double door was at the end and we, cautiously, make our way to it. But then I heard something spattering, I look over to the side and see drops of blood dripping down onto a puddle.
I place my arm out to stop Leon then gesture to the blood. He looks at it just as we hear a growl above us. We look up and see two Lickers crawling on the ceiling before they jump down in front of us. We stand still as they crawled around us, keeping our guns aimed just in case. One of the Lickers did turn to us and sticks out its elongated tongue out at us but we backed away from it so it wouldnât sense us.
The tongue retreats back into the creatures mouth and it continues on with the other. Leon and I share a look before shrugging then we turn and start to walk but then we hear the Lickers growl and hiss. We turn back and see them kinda swatting, playfully, at each other, almost like two dogs playing.
We turn away from them again and start to head for the door until I felt something grab my ankle. I did jump alittle at this before I look down, aiming my gun down, to see one of the soldiers was still alive, he was gasping for breath as he looks up at us. This caught the attention of the Lickers.
Leon then goes to my side and grabs my arm. âSorry, but we donât have time to stay and chat right now.â He said and, with his help, I was able to get my ankle out of the soldierâs grip and we run. The Lickers chase after us and I hear one of them attack the soldier while the second chases after us. I turn, slightly, aim my gun and shoot at it and it falls back before the other one jumps over it and continues the chase.
We get to the door and Leon opens it but then I start to fall through as there was no room on the other side of the door. Before I could fall even further, Leon grabs my arm just as the Licker jumps through the door then begins to fall down the elevator shaft. I take a few deep breathes at this while Leon starts to pull me up towards him.
âYou okay?â He asked me as I wrap my arms around his neck. âYeahâŚjust peachy.â I said, sarcastically, as both of us look down at the elevator shaft. âNow the fun part.â I muttered as we think of a way to get down there without killing ourselves.
Surprisingly, we climb down and made our way into a large storage area where there were several storage containers all around. We go around a corner and see why looked like the center of the area, a tall cylinder structure that had a light blue glow in the middle. âPretty impressive for an old nuclear shelter.â Leon said then we hear footsteps behind us.
We duck off inside the cylinder and to the side as we hear the hurried footsteps get closer and closer. Turns out the footsteps belonged to Ada as she runs in and stops, looking up at the area. âHeh, so you missed us, huh?â Leon asked her, sarcastically, and she turns to us with a sarcastic smile. âYeah. In your dreams.â She snarks and I scoff. âMore like my nightmare.â I said and Ada rolls her eyes while we look at the center of the structure.
âYou seeing what Iâm seeing?â Ada asked as we looked to see several hexagon shaped lights were all around us. âUh-huh.â Leon said. âItâs like a beehive.â I said. âHave you looked inside one of these?â Ada asked, looking into one of the hexagons, and Leon and I come up to her and look inside.
Inside was a blob with several little tentacles and a large eyeball like center. âItâs the Plaga.â I said, stunned. âBig surprise.â Leon mutters as Ada goes to one of the computers in the middle. âWorkers have been cultivated in the past. But thisâŚthis is the first time that the dominant members of the species have been cultured.â She said.
âWhat are you doing?â Leon asked as we see her typing on the computer. âIâm working. Donât worry about it.â Ada said, dismissively. âOh, weâre worried.â I said to her, suspiciously.
âEnough!â A female voice shouts and several armored men run in and aim their guns at us. Then a woman, shoulder length blonde hair and a green suit, walks in. âSo this is what youâre here for. Well? Are you satisfied?â She asked, looking at Ada. âYes, thank you very much.â Ada said, smiling, as she holds her arms up. Then the woman looks over at me and Leon.
âWho are they?â She asked and her assistant, a young man, looks at us. âI donât know.â He said. âThey are American agents.â Ada replied and Leon and I glared at her. âWell, now that we got that out of the wayâŚâ Leon said. âYeah, thanks for that, Ada.â I said, snarky. âAmericans?â The woman asked and she looks us over.
âYou two better watch out. That old broadâs got a bite worse than her bark.â Ada said. âSay what?â I asked, confused, before Ada turns to the console and presses a button. Alarms go off and the lights start to turn off and Leon and I began to fire at the guards while we make our way out.
The guards fired at us but we were able to dodge the bullets. One of them shouts for them to hold their fire and they do as the lights come on. What they didnât know is that Leon and I were able to get behind the green suit woman and Leon places his gun to her back.Â
âDonât move.â Leon demanded and the guards turn to us and I had my gun aimed at them. We walk backwards and the guards follow us as Leon keeps his gun at the womanâs back and I keep my gun aimed at the guards. âDo you have any idea who you are pointing your gun at?â The woman asked Leon. âHmm. Yeah, let me see. Youâre the beekeeper.â Leon said, questioning. âThe beekeeper?â The woman asked. âThe person who released the Plaga.â I said.
âJust as I thought, you two havenât a clue. I am the president of the country.â She said before she turns around, disarms Leon. Before I could fire my gun, she disarms me then goes to punch me but I block her punch. Leon comes up behind her and goes to punch her but she turns her head then kicks him.
I maneuver around her and try to get behind her and wrap my left arm around her throat but she elbows me then flips me over her. I land on my back and quickly get up while Leon goes to kick and punch her but she was able to avoid each blow. Leon and I try to continue to fight her but she was able to block or avoid each one then kicks us both, making us fly back.
Both of us get back up then aim our guns at her. âSo thatâs what Ada meant.â I said. âThey are enemies of the state. Kill them.â The president demanded her guards and they go to fire at us but we run behind a large blue container as the bullets began flying.
Then a blaring alarm sounds out. âCreatures broke through the cargo entrance! Theyâre heading your way!â A voice from the guards radio shouts before he screams out in pain. The guards stop firing then head to the large blue elevator door that said B5 on it. Leon and I reload our guns and look over at them as the elevator dings and the door opens, a Licker jumps out at them.
The guards fire at it and kill it then they stop, reload, then check inside the elevator. But then several more Lickers jump down and starts to attack the guards as they run and fire at the creatures but they are no match for them.
Leon and I run out then look up to see Buddy standing on the balcony over us. We run up to a container and get on top of it and Buddy sees us, he turns to us as three Lickers stand by him. âDid you use it?â Leon asked him then Buddyâs eyes go red before he looks to the two Licker on his right. âGet them.â He ordered and the two Lickers jump and leap at me and Leon, one grabs Leon and the other grabs me.
We fall back onto the ground and the Licker on top of me tries to bite at me but I was able to move around underneath it to keep it from biting me. As I try to grab my gun, the Licker raised its clawed hand at me but I pull my gun up and shoot it several times at the head and it falls over, dead, before it could kill me.Â
I push it off of me and see Leon was able to take care of his Licker as well. He backs away then leans up against a container while I moved back from the Lickers but lay on the floor, feeling exhausted. âIâm sorry.â I hear Leon mutter and I look over to see him pulling out JDâs flask out of the pocket of his vest. âI couldnât stop him.â He whispers before he unscrews the flask then drinks from it.
I groan and roll to my side then sit up on my knees, letting out a tired sigh. I hear movement in front of me and I look up to see Leon holding the flask out to me. âLiquid courage?â I asked, playfully, and he shrugs at me. I take the flask and take a sip of the alcohol inside of the flask.
After handing the flask back to him, we get back up with our guns raised and aim it up but donât see Buddy anywhere. âShit.â I muttered and we climb up the containers and see several soldiers fighting the Lickers, some were successful but most were losing. We look around as one Licker tried to attack us but we fired at it and killed it.Â
I look around and see Buddy running along the upper walkway from several feet from us. I point him out to Leon and both of us began running along the top of the containers and head towards Buddy. Then we make it down to the floor and see Buddy had also made it to the ground.
We chase after him but then a few Lickers go to attack us but we were ready as we shot at them. One of them was about to run at us but then he stopped and retreated. We look around and see several Lickers running away and we share a look before we hear more gunshots until it stopped.
We run off and try to find our way around until we hear a loud alarm going off. We come upon another section of the area and see a tall tube burst out of the floor then opens. And inside of the tube was a monster I thought Iâd never see again, a monster I still have nightmares about.
It was the fucking Tyrant.
âOh, great. It just keeps getting better.â Leon mutters as we see a Licker try to attack the Tyrant but the big guy grabbed the Licker by the head and squashed it like a freaking bug. We head off to the side and see Buddy standing by a room that was blocked by a large panel of glass.
The president was on the other side and I see her get into the elevator. âSvetlana!â Buddy shouts as the elevator door shuts and he slams his fist against the glass. Then another alarm goes off. âA biohazard release has been detected. Evacuate.â The voiceover said then another long tube burst out for the floor.
âThe incineration of the facility will begin shortly.â The voiceover said just as the second tube opens and another Tyrant steps out of it. âYou got to be shitting me.â I growled then the fist Tyrant runs at us and before it could attack us, Leon and I dodged out of the way and began to run, they Tyrant not far behind us.Â
Leon noticed something off to the side and he runs over, I follow. âWhat are you..?â I started to ask but then I see a tray filled with flammable containers. He starts to pull on it and I help as we move them to a certain part of the area. Once we place the flammable containers where we needed, move away as the Tyrant gets close to it. I raise my gun, aim it at the containers and fire, causing an explosion.
We run out of our hiding place, we see the storage containers were blown away and we see Buddy standing there in front of the fire. âRun!â Leon and I shout as we run at the Tyrant and fire at it as it tries to grab at Buddy through the flames. Buddy dodges it and runs away.
We run away from the Tyrants and see Buddy was running towards the elevator. We catch up to him and start to get to the elevator but the door shuts on us. Leon presses the up button and we turn as we hear the Tyrnatsâ large, loud footsteps. Then the alarm sounds out again as the up button lights up. âWhy is it doing that?â Leon asked just as the door opens.Â
Buddy, Leon and I get into the elevator and Buddy presses a button as Leon and I fire at the Tyrant that is running at us. It gets close to us while the door was just halfway down when a Licker jumps at the Tyrant and claws at its face. I look over and see Buddyâs eyes were red, obviously he ordered the Licker to distract it.
The door finally closed and we take a breather, Buddy coughs as Leon and I reload our guns as the elevator slowly rises. âWhy are you two helping?â Buddy asked us. âDonât get all sentimental on us. Weâre not doing this for you.â I replied. âThereâs nobody else left to tell the world what really happened, thatâs why.â Leon said.
Suddenly, the Tyrant bursts through and tries to grab at us but Leon and I fire at it. Then it starts to crawl into the elevator. âThe hatch!â Buddy shouts and we look up to see an open hatch about us. Then the three of us began to climb up and get through the hatch.
âThis will take us up.â Buddy said once we get on top of the elevator. The elevator shakes and we look down to see the second Tyrant also tries to crawl into the elevator. âDamn it.â Buddy growls as the cable creaks and breaks slowly. Leon gestures for me to the ladder next to us and I began to climb up, Leon follows afterwards. âHurry! Come on!â Leon shouts at Buddy as the elevator starts to break further.Â
Buddy jumps and grabs onto Leonâs hand as the elevator collapses. All of us pant as Buddy grabs onto the ladder. âLetâs get going.â I said and we climb up the ladder, hopefully to get the hell out of this place.

Chapter 3: That Is Your Answer
Previous Chapter / Next Chapter
The bell rings overhead as Leon and I sat at one of the pews in the main church room, both of us tied up again. We sit there in silence as the guards around us start to load their guns and be prepared for whatever theyâre planning. JD walks into the room and looks at me and Leon before turning to one of the guards. âI want a word with them.â He said as he gestures towards us.
Moments later, we were outside and JD shoves us against a wall of the building. I look to my left and see JD has a knife to Leonâs back and I try to think of a plan when JD speaks. âHeâs gone to get it.â He said and I stop all planning. âThe Plaga?â Leon asked him. âI donât know its name. All I know is that it was given to us by the elders.â JD replied then he cuts Leonâs restraints then comes over to me and cuts my restraints.
Once I was free, Leon grabs JD, swings him over and shoves him against the wall. Then he disarms him and places his arm against JDâs neck. âYou inject that stuff into your body so you can control the Lickers, right?â Leon asked him and this takes me by surprise, controlling the Lickers? What?! âSome compassionate elders you got there.â He sneered.
âWhat other options do we have? Do you realize that the whole world ignores us? That we are in danger of extermination?â JD asked, upset, and Leon removes his arm off of him. âSave your breath. Weâre not gonna see eye to eye on this.â Leon said and he, gently, grabs my arm and leads me to walk away.
âHelp us!â JD shouts, desperately, and we stopped and turned around. âI donât want to see him change into a monster. Irina would not be happy about this.â JD said, in a soft tone. âIrina?â I asked, curiously. âWe knew her since we were kids. Buddyâs fiancĂŠ. She was a school teacher and, believe it or not, so was Buddy. Those bastards thought their school was a pro-independence hideout and attacked it. Irina and the kids died in the attack.â JD explained and I gasped at this, my heart absolutely breaking at this.
âThatâs the reason why heâs fighting this war. He had never even held a gun up until then.â JD added and he stays silent for a moment before speaking again. âIâm going to pretend you two escaped. In return, you two must get ahold of it before he does.â He pleads. âSo now you trust us?â Leon asked him. âI donât know who or what you two are, but I do know you two saved my life. You must stop Sasha.â JD said and removes the rifle off of him and hands it to Leon.
âYou'll find him in the central marketplace.â JD said as Leon takes the rifle and then JD takes out a pistol from his holster and hands it to me. I take it and then we turned and run.
âSo, they can control Lickers now?â I asked Leon as we made our way through some alleys to get to the marketplace. âYeahâŚback at the parking garageâŚafter that explosionâŚsaw it with my own eyes. The Licker wouldâve killed us but, miraculously, he stopped. And then I saw that old man and he treated it like it was a dog.â Leon informed and I shake my head.Â
We come up to the main road and see the army trucks driving down then turn left. Leon shakes his head and we run down to the parking garage again. We make it down to the garage and look around for any signs of Buddy but donât see anything, except the destruction from the explosion last night.
I noticed something on the ground and I go over to it. Once I get closer, I see that itâs a cause that looked like held a gun and bullets. But then again, this couldâve been what held the Plaga which means Buddyâs already been here. âWell, shit.â I muttered.
âLooking for someone?â A voice asked behind us. Then a bright light shines at us and Leon and I turned around, just in time to see someone running at us. We began fighting the person by blocking any punches they threw at each of us until they backflipped away, the light dissipates and I see who it was as she aims her gun at us.
âAda.â I growled and Ada Wong stands up, still aiming her gun at us. âItâs been a long time, you two.â She said, with a smirk. âWhat are you doing here?â Leon asked her, he and I had our guns aimed at her. âI was about to ask you the same thing.â Ada said as she walks around us, Leon and I follow her.
âDid you release the Plaga?â I asked her, angrily. âDonât make me laugh. Iâm not interested in defective products. Iâm just here to lend them a hand.â Ada replied. âThem?â Leon asked, confused. âAlthough it seems as if my help wasnât needed.â She continued. âWhat are you doing here?â I asked, repeating Leonâs question.
âIf they attack the capital, itâll make my job a lot easier. Thatâs all.â She said as she stops under a large opening in the ceiling. âBy the way, I heard the newsâŚcongratulations on the marriage. Took you two long enough.â Ada said, snidely, and I narrow my eyes at her.Â
Then she raises her gun up and fires, a hook flies up and latched on to whatever was at the top. âQuick word of warning.â Ada said as her grappling gun flies her upwards. âThis town will be purged soon!â Ada shouts at us as she goes up. We run towards her but stop and see her get up on a metal structure then jumped out of sight.
I let out an annoyed scoff at this before I look away from the roof. âI swear one of these daysâŚâ I grumbled, threateningly, and Leon just shakes his head until we hear the bells ringing. I look over at Leon. âYou donât thinkâŚ?â I started to ask and Leon shrugs before we start to run.
Once we get back to the church, we see the front door was surrounded by infected all trying to get in. Leon taps my arm and gestures for me to follow him and we go around to the back of the church.
We get to the backyard, where JD let us go, but see several more infected walking around. âGreat. We get to play Santa Claus.â Leon snarks. I give him a look and he points out to all the rooftops near us. âFun.â I said, sarcastically.
Eventually, we get around on the roof close to the church and get over to the part of the wall where there was a ladder. I run and jump towards the ladder and grab onto it. I climb up a few steps before I hear Leon jump and grab onto the ladder. But then I hear a bunch of scrapping noise and I look down to see him struggling to get his up on the steps.
I look down and see that he was trying to get his feet up while the infected start to come towards him. âYou good?â I asked him, quietly, before he finally gets his footing and start to climb up. I chuckle, lightly, and continue to climb but then gunshots could be heard from inside the church. âShit.â I muttered and I climb up faster.
We were able to get inside of the church and run along the balcony, making it to the main room. We stopped and see several dead bodies on the ground, the only one that was alive was JD who was sitting up and coughing. âAre you all right?â Leon asked him. âYeah, just let my guard down for a moment.â JD said and Leon and I make our way down to him.
âThey got us pretty good.â JD said then he reloads his gun then gets up as he walks up to us. âWhereâs Buddy?â He asked us. âHe already left by the time we got there.â I said. âDamn!â JD shouts, in frustrated anger. âWe have to leave now! The militaryâs gonna burn the whole area and everything in it.â Leon tells him.
âWhat?!â JD exclaims, confused. âWeâre out of time.â I said and JD turns away and runs over to the side of the room but he stops, holds his abdomen and grunts in pain. âWhatâs wrong?â Leon asked him. âNothing. Thereâs just something I have to do.â He replied then he walks over to this duffle bag he had carried in and picked it up.
Then he takes off Leonâs tactical vest then walks over to us. He sets the bag down, digs inside of it and pulls out my tactical vest then he goes to us and holds out the vests to us. âWonât you be needing that?â Leon asked and JD shakes his head, still holding the vests out.
Leon grabs his vest and I grab mine, put them on, then JD holds a fist out to us. Leon gives him a curious look but JD continues to hold his fist out and Leon goes ahead and does a fist bump handshake. JD chuckles and smiles before he turns to me with his fist out again. I let out a small laugh and do the same fist bump handshake.
âAh, you my man and lady!â JD laughs and he walks over to the side door but it opens, revealing Buddy. âBuddy.â JD said, stunned, and he looks his friend up and down then nods. âCool. Youâre still human.â He said as he walks up but then begins to cough and double over. âJD.â Buddy said, worried, then he looks over at us and his face turns to anger.
âYou!â He growls and he aims his assault rifle at us. âWhat have you two done?â Buddy growls. âNo! Theyâre not our enemies! Theyâreââ JD defends before he coughs again. Buddy walks up to him but he raises a hand to him. âIâm fine. Just go. I donât want to cause any more trouble.â JD said before he coughs again. âItâs time to say goodbye.â
Then JD raises his head and it begins to twitch. Buddy gives a surprise look as JD looks at him and he begins to growl. âOh, shit.â I muttered as JD twitched and shakes then he lets out a roar and goes to attack Buddy. Leon pulls out his pistol from his vest and fires at JDâs leg, making him fall over. âJD!â Buddy shouts as Leon and I walk up to JD, Leon aiming his gun.
âWait!â Buddy stops him and Leon looks at Buddy then backs away, I follow him as Buddy looks down at JD, who looks up at him and he seemed to be fighting the Plaga as he begins to speak. âYou know, I didnât really care about independence. All I wanted was to have fun with you and my friends. AndâŚâ JD cries, tears of blood runs down his face and black veins form over his face.
Buddy was too shocked and stunned as JD tried to walk towards Buddy but couldnât move too much because of his legs. Then he stops and raises his head and begins to scream before the Plaga bursts out of his head and waves its tentacles around. I give a sympathetic look to JD as I was starting to like him.
âI was looking forward to showing you America.â Leon said, sadly, as he and I raise our guns and fire at JD, killing him. Buddy leans against the wall, still in shock. âTrust us, weâve seen this happen every time.â Leon said as I give a look of pity at JD.
Later, we covered up all the dead bodies in respect for them before we sat down with Buddy and talk. âWhen youâre dealing with B.O.W.s, thereâs no difference between friend or enemy. It takes everything from you: the cause youâre fighting for, the respect you have for others. We have to keep this from ever happening again.â Leon tells Buddy, who was sitting there and looking down at the floor.
âGive us the Plaga.â Leon demanded, a loud explosion happens some miles away from us. âAs far as Iâm concerned, there is no difference between this and using B.O.W.s.â Buddy said then he stands up and faces up. âIf you two want to keep this from happening again, put down your guns.â He demanded but Leon and I shake our heads.
âWell, then. That is my answerâŚand your answer.â Buddy said as another explosion happens, this time closer, and the building shakes and the ceiling collapses. Leon and I duck back then look over to see Buddy running off. We duck and dodge around the falling debris and go after him.Â

Chapter 2: The Return Of The Plaga
Previous Chapter / Next Chapter
Later, Buddy left the room so it was just me, Leon, the old man and Blonde man. âHey, you.â Leon said to the blonde man, who looks at Leon offended. âMy name is not hey, you. Iâm JD. Although thatâs not my real name.â JD said. âThe old manâs not looking too good.â Leon pointed out and JD looks at the old man then back at us.
âHe always looks like that.â JD said, dismissively, then takes a sip from his flask. âLetâs hope youâre right.â I said as the old man coughs even harder.Â
JD ignores the man then comes up to us, excitedly. âAnyways, what are you two really doing in this country?â JD asked us. âHey, a different question for a change.â I said and JD sighs, exasperated. âWhat I mean is, being in America is a hell of a lot more fun than being here, right?â JD asked. âWe wouldnât know.â Leon replied and JD sighs.
âThe hamburgers, man. The fried chicken! The food in your countryâs fantastic! I could eat it every day!â JD exclaimed, happily. âThanks for the valuable insight.â I said. âAnd the Hollywood movies! I love those things! I have 50 DVDs! None of them are pirated!â JD said, sounding more like an excited kid.Â
âI thought you guys hated America.â Leon said, questioningly. âSure, we hate it. But things made in America? Now, thatâs different.â JD said and he goes to open his flask but a phone begins to ring. He puts his flask away and digs around the pockets and pulls out Leonâs cellphone.
âWhatever you do, donât push that button.â Leon tells him. âIâm not falling for that. No way Iâll allow them to trace the call.â JD said then tossed the phone down on the ground and stomps on it. Then he looks up at us, smiling and nodding, and Leon gives a small nod to him.Â
The door opens and Buddy enters the room and JD looks at him. âHow are things out there?â He asked. âLooks like they have the old part of the city surrounded. Weâd better wait and see how things pan out.â Buddy said as he puts his gun away.
The old man begins to grunt then coughs again and doubles over. JD looks at him then goes over to Buddy. âYou, bro. Can I speak to you for a moment?â He asked Buddy. âWhat about?â Buddy asked him as he turns to JD. âItâs about Ataman.â JD said as he gestures to the old man. âIt could be dangerous to move him now. And your American friends has taken quite an interest in him.â JD said and Buddy looks over at us with a glare.
âYou donâtâyou donât have to worry about me.â Ataman coughs. âWe canât stay here forever.â He said and he stands up but then grabs his chest and begins to cough like crazy. Then a loud knock comes from the door behind me and Leon. âWhoâs in there? Open the door!â A manâs voice demanded, obviously one of the soldiers from earlier.Â
JD raises his gun but Buddy stops him as the soldier co to use to demand for the door to be open and Atamanâs coughing continues. Buddy shakes his head at JD but JD pulls away from him and runs to the door and stands in front of it, his gun raised at it as the soldier begins to countdown.Â
Leon gets up, runs and knocks JD down as the door blows open. I fall off of the chair as soldier began to run in. âDonât move! Hands in the air!â One shouts. âDonât shoot!â Buddy said as one soldier comes up at me and aims his gun at me. âDrop your guns!â Another soldier demands to JD, who does as heâs told.Â
âLetâs go. Take them away.â Another soldier said as two of them go to Ataman, who continues to cough. Since I was closer, I noticed that his skin was turning gray and I continue to watch him cough, uncontrollably, to the point his sunglasses fall off. He doubles over and continues to cough but then suddenly stops and he moves slightly and I thought I heard him let out a small groan. This scared me alittle.
âKeep away from him!â I shouted and the soldiers turn to me then back to Ataman, who slowly starts to stand up. âHeâs turned!â Leon shouts, warningly, as Ataman raises his head and opens his red eyes. Buddy, then, grabs one of the soldierâs guns and the soldier tries to fight him off but he accidentally pulls the trigger and the bullets hit a couple of soldiers, killing them.
Buddy fights with the soldier as Leon headbutts another and kicks him. I do a spin kick at a soldier near me when another one came up behind me to grab my tied up hands. I lean my head forward then jerked it backwards to hit the man in the face. He lets out a pained groan and I turn to see him grab his nose before I kick him in the abdomen.
JD tries to carry Ataman out but a soldier shoots at him and he falls over. Buddy, now with a gun, goes to fire all around the room and I run towards the back and dive behind some boxes, seconds later Leon joins in. âYou all right?â He asked me. âYeahâŚyou?â I asked him. âCould be better.â He said as the shooting stops. âDownstairs. Someone is in the basement.â A voice from above said and then bullets start to rain down on the room but the area we were hiding was safe from the bullets.
The bullets did stop and Leon and I made our way out of the room, quietly, and follow after Buddy, JD and Ataman. We go through the tunnels then lean up against a wall when we hear their voices. âGet up, you idiot. You think that vest youâre wearing is a girlâs blouse?â Buddy said, annoyed. âWe have to get Ataman away from here.â
Leon and I peek around the corner and see JD kneeling in the ground and placed his hand on his left side while Buddy walked over to Ataman. âWow! I should have guessed! Made in America!â JD exclaimed, happily. âGlad someoneâs happy.â I whispered as JD gets up and follows Buddy.Â
âWait! Where are the Americans?â JD asked. âDead, probably.â Buddy said as we see him go to Ataman. âGive me a hand!â He ordered JD. âLeave me here.â Ataman said before he coughs. âIf we go on like this, weâll all be killed before we can launch an attack on the capital. Go. Create a new future.â Ataman said before he coughs again. We see Buddy standing up, pulling out a pistol and then fired several rounds into Ataman.
âThis way. I heard gunshots.â A voice said from afar as JD said. âTheyâre here!â
âIâm going to go and check on Marco. You head to the church and join the others.â Buddy said and we hear him and JD walk away. Leon kneels down on the ground and picks up a flashlight and clicks it on then gestures for me to follow him. I nod and we walk down the hallway and stare at Atamanâs dead body for a moment before following after the two men.
Leon walks ahead, shining the flashlight as our guide, while I walked close behind him and trying to figure out how to get out of these zip ties around my wrist. Leon moves the light around to see where to go until we come up two different roads. Leon looks between them then gestures to me to follow him, with his head, as we head to the road on the right.Â
Eventually we make it in this small room that kinda looked like a storage room until the light shined on a dead body on a table with an axe embedded in its chest. A clatter noise sounded out and we duck down behind some crates and start crouch walk until we turned around, the light shines across the room and we see JD hiding near another doorway, holding a gun and had a duffle bag on his back.Â
He raises a finger to us and we looked at him. He points frantically behind us and places a finger to his lips again and shushes us. âDo you really think weâre gonna fall for that?â Leon asked as he and I stand up.Â
Suddenly, a loud roar happened behind us and someone bursts through the wall, charging towards me but Leon pushes me aside so heâd get hit first. He falls back as the zombie holds a pair of shears and raises it above his head and tries to stab Leon. âKill you.â The creature said and I furrow my brow at this.
âDo I look like I need a pruning?â Leon asked as I get up, raised my tied up arms and wrap it around the zombieâs neck. It tries to get me off of him but I keep my arm tight around its neck, Leon then kicks it in the right knee and the zombie collapses on its side. I still hold down the zombie as Leon comes up, grabs the shears and raises it up.Â
âDonât kill him!â JD screams. âThatâs one request I canât grant.â Leon tells him then he nods at me and I remove my arms off of the zombie and moved aside as Leon stabs it in the head with the shears. âMr. Chenkov!â JD cries as I sit up and get up to my feet. âI told you not to kill him!â JD screams at us, in frantic anger, as Leon sets aside the shears and then helps me up to my feet.
âHe was my teacher!â JD shouts while I pick up the shears. âIt was him or us! And donât forget, he wasnât your teacher anymore.â Leon tells him as I kneel down and pick up the shears. JD lets out a frustrated growl before another zombie comes up behind him and grabs him then tosses him aside.
Two more zombies come at me and Leon and I try to attack the one close to me with the shears but they knocked it out of my hands. Then both of the zombies raise their knives at me and Leon and we raised our arms up and hold back the knives. I look over and see JD staring at the zombie that tossed him, in horror.
âShoot!â I shout but JD stands there. âShoot, JD!â Leon shouts as he and I struggle against our own zombies. But JD tries but the zombie grabs him and knocks him down. I look at the zombie trying to stab me and I grab the knife, make a maneuver to get around it as well as disarming him then, as the zombie leans forward, I get up behind him and stab it in the back of the head.Â
Leon did the same to his zombie and we see the infected person holding JD down and it acts like itâs gonna vomit but then a large monstrous, fleshy, fanged mouth pops out, which is something I hadnât seen the likes of in yearsâŚnot since Spain. Leon runs up and kicks the infected, in the face, off of JD before he could do any harm to him.
The infected gets up but his head lulls back, as if it had a broken neck, and tries to attack again but Leon reacts, quickly, and stabs it in the head. JD stares at Leon in shock and awe as I walk over to him. âWhy the hell carry that gun around for if youâre not gonna use it?â I asked him and JD looks at me then Leon before he stands up.
âDonât worry. Iâll use it next time.â JD assures and Leon uses his knife to cut his restraints and I do the same to mine. Then Leon walks over to the flashlight then grabs a crowbar on the ground before turning to JD. âIf you ever decide to shoot those things, shoot them in the head, got it?â He said, annoyed, then he looks at me and jerks his head forward and he and I go to leave.
âWait!â JD calls out and we stop and turn to him. âThis way.â JD said, gesturing behind him, and he runs, we follow.
We walk down this stone, somewhat dark, hallway until JD turns right, we follow and see a large metal door at the end. âTwo grown men should be able to open it.â JD said, looking at Leon. âIâll keep a lookout.â I said as I turn and raised my knife while Leon and JD go to pull the door open.
âSo, what is this place?â Leon asked JD. âOld partisans used to hole up here back in the day.â JD said, in between grunts and groans as they try to move the door. âThey sure knew how to keep the enemy out.â Leon remarks and I turn to look at them as Leon removes his hands off of the door.Â
âThis thing ainât gonna budge.â He said and he reaches behind him, removes the crowbar from his belt loop and grabs JD by the shoulder and pushed him aside. âStand back.â He said and he places the crowbar at the edge of the door and begins to pull, JD helps pulling the door, when I heard a voice growl. âThat way.âÂ
The boys stop and all of us look down the hall but saw nothing but I could hear their groans. I raise my knife then look over to Leon. âYou focus on that door, Iâll take care of this.â I said, giving Leon a quick wink, before I turn back to the hallway and, cautiously, walk at the end, my blade raised and ready, as I hear Leon and JD work on getting the door open.
Four of the infected people shuffle their way towards me and one of them charges at me but I stab it in the head. âQuick!â I hear Leon said and I, quickly, look over and see the door was slightly opened and JD squeezes himself in through the door.
I turn to face the infected and one grabs onto me and shoves me up against the wall. Before I could do anything, Leon stabs the infected through the temple with the crowbar and he falls sideways once Leon removes the bar away. âThanks.â I said.
âOh, I knew I should have stayed off the junk food.â JD groans as he tries to squeeze in the space but was struggling. Leon and I run over to the door and try our best to pull it open wider for JD. âHurry up!â Leon groan but then we heard a noise behind us.
Leon and I look around and saw the one he stabbed, stands up and the familiar tentacles burst out of the head and started to whip around as it starts getting closer to us. Leon and I tug harder, the door opened a bit and JD was able to get inside. âGo!â Leon tells me and I duck down under his arms and squeeze myself, fluently, through the door and then it was Leonâs turn. He turns and grabs the handle but the infected try to get in but Leon kicked it back and slammed the door shut.
I hand him the hooked chains I found on the ground, he takes it then wraps it around the handle and latch before the infected could get in. I take in a deep breath before turning around and see a ladder behind us.
We climb up the ladder and make our way up back into the city. The sun had risen at this point and we walk out into a back alley of the building. The three of us look ahead and see the church up ahead when we heard some noises being us.Â
We turned around and see a soldier running away from the infected as they all surround him. âWhatâs happening?â JD asked and he starts to run over to the soldier but Leon grabs him and pull him back. JD looks at him and Leon shakes his head as the soldier cries out for help.
We hide behind a couple of dumpsters then look out to see one of the infected goes up to the soldier, open its mouth and pulls out a large parasite and shoves it in the soldierâs mouth. Then they leave as the soldier doubles over, coughs then lets out a cry. âWhat happened to everybody?â JD whispered.
âAnywhere we can hide?â Leon asked but JD doesnât respond as he looks out. âHey!â Leon yells and JD jumps. âYeah.â He mutters and he gets up and leads us to the church.
Leon opens the front door of the church and the three of us enter, seeing the large, beautiful ornate structure of the church. âWhatâs happening? What did you do to everybody?â JD asked us, angrily. âIâd say the Plaga you were hiding got loose.â Leon said. âI donât know what youâre talking about!â JD yells and I turn to him.Â
âYour precious townsfolk are being controlled by a parasite. It attached itself to the central nervous system is the spinal cord.â I tell him. âYou mean the people of the town areâ?â JD started to asked, shocked, before Leon speaks up. âTheyâll never be normal again.â He said and JD shakes his head.
âThere must be something we can do.â JD said, desperately. âYou could rip out the spinal cord, but the best you could hope for is paralysis or death.â I explained. âYou are lying!â JD roars. âIf you really believe that, then why did you kill the old man?â Leon questioned and JD stammers at this. âBut that wasââ
âBecause you knew he would never be human again.â I said and JD looks down at this. Suddenly, the sound of doors opening at the other end of the church could be heard and Buddyâs voice said. âWhat they say is true.â
We turn to our right and see Buddy walking in, with two guards by his side and they aim their guns at me and Leon. âI have some more questions for you two.â Buddy growls as he glares at us then I look up at the upper balcony and see a sniper aiming his gun at us.
Leon and I share a look before both of us raise our hands. âMaybe this time we can get to the truth.â Leon sneers and Buddy glares at him before he walks up to Leon and punches him in the face. I start to take a step towards Buddy but then one of the guards goes up to me and shoves the barrel of their gun at me, keeping me from moving.

For 74 years, the might of Soviet socialism was so great it split the world along Eastern and Western lines. Then, in 1991, it collapsed completely. One by one, the various countries which had supported the Soviet Union began splitting away, declaring their independence. The parliament of the Eastern Slav Republic followed suit, declaring their independence country a sovereign state, independent from Soviet rule. Capitalism advanced rapidly. The conglomerates gained influence in political circles, and as a result, the oligarchs came into power.Â
In the Eastern Slav Republic, the divide between rich and poor became so great it ignited the fuse of a new rebellion. The push for independence exploded into the streets. Armed freedom fighters pitted themselves against their government, now controlled by the oligarchs.
The military prospered during this time, becoming ever stronger and better equipped. Under the guidance of Ivan Judanovich, an Ataman from the Council of Elders, the freedom fighters moved their base to a hidden location. A more suitable place to launch their guerrilla war against the government.Â
After several years of brutal fighting, it was Svetlana Belikova, Eastern Slavâs first female president, who offered a ceasefire to the freedom fighters. But the break from hostilities was short-lived.Â
In November of 2010, the government discovered that the rebelsâ land contained valuable resources. The military continued their attacks, claiming they were fighting terrorism. Losing one base after another to the militaryâs onslaught, the freedom fighters escalated their efforts and became more and more radical in their tactics.
It was then that strange rumors began spreading like wildfire among the people that monsters had joined the battle.Â
In February of 2011, the rumors made it to the old city of Holifgrad, just a few kilometers from the Presidential Palace, an important strategic location for the government.Â
Gunfire and explosions were bombarding my eardrums as Leon and I run along the back roads of the city of Holifgrad. We come upon an archway that leads to the main roads and we step aside and hide as we see several soldiers firing at the rebels and their tanks firing at various points, hitting several buildings. Several soldiers shouting commands at each other as they move on.
Leonâs phone goes off and he pulls it out of his pocket and answer it, and I see that itâs Hunnigan. âMoving into position.â Leon tells her. âCopy. Iâve got a clear view of you from the sky.â Hunnigan said as both of us look up in the sky and see a faint blinking light from the satellite. âGreat. Maybe you can help us find a clear rout to the CIA drop-off.â Leon tells her.
At that moment, we heard something wizzing in the air and it sounded like it was getting close to us, Leon grabs me and moves us away as a rocket hits the ground close to where we were seconds before. âLooks like theyâre doing some serious renovations down here.â I remarked. âNo kidding.â Leon scoffs, sarcastically.
âListen to me carefully, you two. Your mission has been aborted. The U.S. is going to pull out of the country.â Hunnigan tells us and my jaw drops at this. âWhat? We just got here!â I said, frustrated. âAfter taking us off furlough, away from our son, and sending us to this godforsaken place? What the hell?!â Leon exclaims, angrily, while I stood by him, stewing in anger.
âWashington and the government there have decided to go their separate ways. Everyone has to leave, not just embassy staff. All American citizens have been ordered to evacuate the country.â Hunnigan said, firmly. âWe donât give a damn about the politics. Weâve got confirmation that B.O.W.s are being used in this war!â I said, angrily. âSheâs right. If we donât stop them now, the same shit will happen everywhere else. Do you really wanna see that?â Leon asked her.
âThis is a war and things are different. No one can do anything without backup from the American government. Not even you two.â Hunnigan argues and Leon and I share a look before I nod at him. Leon smirks and nods back at me before looking back at Hunnigan. âWell, then I guess our only option is to lose our American citizenship for a while.â Leon said and Hunnigan has a horrified look on her face.
âGuys!â She shouts before Leon hangs up. âShe can tell them we got lost and missed our flight.â Leon said as he pockets his phone and I sighed, exasperated. âThis is such bullshit.â I grumbled. âI know, honey.â Leon said, sympathetically, and he places a hand on my shoulder. âCome on, letâs go.â He said and we run back and find another way around the city.
We walk along a more quiet area of the city while I still was fuming over the predicament we were in. âCould be home planning out Isaiahâs first birthday.â I grumbled, under my breath. âAnd miss all of this?â Leon asked, sarcastically, and I scoff. âAt least, we wouldnât have to worry about B.O.W.s. Just worry about how big of a mess our son is gonna make once he eats his birthday cake.â I said.
Before Leon could make a retort, we come upon a semi truck with a large yellow bee on the container and we stare at it as it looked kinda out of place. Then we heard a loud explosion and we stop as we see fire and smoke behind the large house at the end of the street, then more tanks and soldiers walk along.
âBetter hurry up and get this done. I need some breakfast.â Leon said and I roll my eyes as we run down the ramp and head towards the parking garage. âHey, I offered you that granola bar and you refused it.â I retorted. âThat little thing wasnât gonna keep me full.â Leon said. âBetter than starving to death.â I grumbled as we make it into the parking garage.
We turn the lights on our rifles on and began to look around the garage for our informant. Besides a few cars and trucks here and there, there was nothing until we heard a grunt. We aimed our lights over to the side and see a man, covered in blood, reaching out towards us as he hobbles towards us. But then he stops and collapses on the floor.Â
Leon and I turn our lights off and run over to the man as he continues to gasp and grunt. We run up on either side of him and Leon goes to pick him so he could sit up while I noticed a bloody handkerchief in his left hand. âScarecrow. Iâm the Tin Man and thatâs Dorothy. Can you talk?â Leon asked the man. âWe need to know the connection between the anti-government forces and the B.O.W.s?â I asked the man but he continues to gurgle and groan.
âI guess scarecrows arenât exactly known for rousing conversation.â Leon quips and I give him a really, now? look before he looks back down at the man. âHang in there. Weâll get you out of here.â Leon said then he looks at me. âStay here with him.â He said and I nod before he sets the man down and starts to walk away when Scarecrow grunts out. âBeeâŚâ
Leon stops and turns back to us as I look down at Scarecrow. âWhat? Say that again.â I said. âBeeâŚbeekeeper.â Scarecrow groans. âBeekeeper?â Leon asked, confused, and I remembered that truck outside. âThe honeybee we saw outside!â I said to him.
Then I heard some fast clacking coming towards us. Leon and I look and saw something big and red running towards us and we jumped out of the way as the monster lands on Scarecrow and kills him. We raised our lights to it and I recognized it, immediately. A creature I havenât seen since all those years ago back in Raccoon City, I didnât know what they were called then but after escaping and doing more research on Umbrella I found out that they were labeled Lickers.
The Licker turns its disgusting head around to us and turns its whole body to us while we had our rifle aimed at it. âGreat. Now we got a cowardly lion to deal with.â Leon quips as the Licker crawls on its large claws and feet towards us, its teeth barring like a lion ready to attack its prey. It roars and starts to charge at us but we shot at it several times before it jumped over to the side and we followed it to see it latched onto a pillar.
We fired at it again but it jumped away and began to run, we chase after it and continue to fire at it. We lose track of it at one point and we look around until I see it at the other side of the garage, on top of a car. It leaps off of the car then starts to charge at us again.Â
We shoot at it until we ran out of bullets. Leon and I reload our guns as the Licker gets closer and closer towards us then he leaps up and over us just as we reloaded our guns. As it flies over us, we shoot at its chest and torso before it lands behind us, bleeding. It turns and hisses at us before it runs away from us.Â
We chase after it and continue to fire at it until an explosion goes off and everything goes black.
*3rd Person POV*
Leon groans and grunts as he raises his head up and noticed the destruction the explosion cause in the parking garage. He looks to his right, sees (y/n) unconscious and he crawls over to her. He falls on the ground, from the pain and exhaustion, but fights to get up on his hands and drag himself over to his wife.
Once he gets to her, he moves her on her back then puts his ear to her chest, a heartbeat could be heard. Leon sighs with relief at this, thanking everything that was Holy that she was still alive. But the celebration was short lived as he heard the growl of the Licker. He looks ahead and sees the Licker crawling towards him and (y/n).
Leon glares at it just as the Licker decided now it wanted to charge at him. Leon starts to place himself over (y/n), acting like a shield for her, as the Licker gets close and raised its claw at him. Leon braces for the impact but, surprisingly, none came. He opens his eyes and sees that the creatureâs claw was just mere inches from his face, Like it was frozen in place.
The Licker pulls its claw back and backs away as a man walks up to him. Leon looks up at the man then down at (y/n) before Leon collapses, part of him draped over her, and fall into unconsciousness himself. The mysterious man looks down at the couple and the Licker tries to reach out towards the couple, hoping to get a meal out of them, but the man held a hand out to it as if commanding it to stop. The Licker looks up at him, like a dog would to its owner, and pulls its claw back and backs away again.
*(y/n)âs POV*
I grunt a bit as I open my eyes, realizing the area I was in was kinda dark. My eyes adjusted and see some lights pouring through the wooden panels above me. I take notice that there was basically nothing in this room except a few wooden crates scattered around the room. I go to move but then realized my hands were tied up behind me, with zip ties, to a chair I was sitting in.
â(Y/n)?â A voice whispered and I look to my left and see Leon, also tied up to another chair. âLeon? You okay?â I asked, quietly. He nods and he was about to speak until we heard a door open and a bright light shining through the cracks of the panels above us. âItâs the army. Is anyone here?â A loud, commanding voice called out as several footsteps pound the floor.
Leon and I look up at the floor and we could see shadows walking around as the soldiers look around the room above us. âCheck the room down there.â A soldier said and we could see them moving but then something catches my eyes. I look across from the room and, from the lights, I could see a man sitting there.
âHeyââ Leon started to call out but then I felt a hand over my mouth and I try to fight against the grip but then I felt a cold sharp steel against my neck. I move my eyes to my left and see Leon looking slightly up, obviously looking at the person who covered my mouth. âDonât say a word or Iâll cut her throat.â A male voice whispers to Leon, who glares at the man behind me, as the soldierâs voice shouts. âHow about that one?â
A young man, blonde short Mohawk hair and large blue eyes and an excitable look on his face, comes out of the shadows and puts a finger to his lips then chuckles slightly. I noticed that he had Leonâs gear on, which made me wonder where the hell was my gear? The young main aims his gun up on the floor as he watches the soldierâs shadows.
âThis oneâs clear.â Another soldier said and others said. âClear.âÂ
âPull out.â A different soldier said and we hear disappearing footsteps. âTheyâre gone.â The young man said as he lowers his gun and the knife and hand were removed off of me. âWe better stay here a while longer. They may come back.â The man behind me said and he walks around me and I see that he was a tall, short dark hair with a determined look on his face.
Mohawk guy walks up to us, holds up a flashlight then flicks it on and off at me and Leon, blinding us. âDo you think our hostages will be of any use?â He asked as he continues to flick the light on and off on our faces until a lightbulb over us turns on.
The dark haired man walks up to us as his friend puts the light away. âDo you know who we are?â The dark haired man asked us. âAre you the Wizard of Oz?â I asked, sarcastically, and the dark haired man leans in close to me, aggressively. âYou people in the CIA call us terrorists.â He said then he stands up. âBut we prefer to call ourselves pro-independence fighters.â The blonde man said, after taking a drink from his flask, then waving his hands around before he nods, enthusiastically.
âWhat is the CIA doing here? Did you put the government up to this? Are there any more of you?â The dark haired man asked us. âWeâre not CIA agents. Weâre just an American couple who were screwed out of their vacation, dumped in a plane and brought here. Without any breakfast.â Leon replied, annoyed.
âThey came for you two while you guys were on vacation?â The blonde man asked. âNot to mention, pulled away from our son before his first birthday.â I grumbled. âAnd you have a kid?!â The blonde man said then he turns to his friend. âHey, Buddy. Theyâve got to be pretty high up in the CIA for them to do that.â He said, excitedly. âYou watch too many movies.â Leon remarks.
âThen what are you?â Buddy asked us. âIs it common for people in America to be packing one of these while on vacation?â Buddy asks as he goes to blondie, grabs Leonâs rifle from the holster around him and pulls it up to show us. âSure. Weâve been doing it since the country was founded.â Leon said, sarcastically.
âWow, Americaâs the bomb, yo!â Blonde man said, excitedly, but Buddy didnât look too impressed and he puts the rifle back into the holster. âWhatever.â He grumbles then looks back at me and Leon. âBut even if neither of you are not CIA, there is no doubt you two must be pretty special for America to send you here. You two were able to take on that thing, after all.â Buddy said and this made me speak up.
âIf you donât stop messing around with that thing, youâre gonna get us all killed.â I said, angrily, and Buddy turns to me. âThere is no doubt about the fact that you and your partner are our enemies.â Buddy growls but then we hear another man coughing. Buddy turns away from us and goes to the man I saw sitting across the room.
Buddy walks over to him as the old man coughs and wheezes.Â

Chapter 4: Weâll Stop This
Previous Chapter
*(y/n)âs POV*
âJason said Wilson has a fully equipped lab down here. Itâs where he develops his bioweapons.â Shen informs us as we take an elevator down. The door opens after a few seconds and we run down this lighted tunnel. Shen finally told us that Jason was heading back to the U.S. to Wilsonâs secret lab under the Andrewâs Airport. âRight under everyoneâs noses. Typical.â Leon scoffs as we continue to run.
Then alarms go off as we get closer to the entrance of the lab. âRogue bioweapons detected. Sterilization sequence activated. Partition wall closing. All crews evacuate the facility.â The PA system said just seconds before we entered the lab. We run up on the walkway and look off the side and see rows upon rows of different bioweapons held in tubes.
Then a loud buzzing alarm goes off. âThatâs not good.â Leon said as the door closes and large cylinders protrude out of the walls, green liquid spills out of them and floods the lower part of the lab. The tubes that held the many bio weapons are then pulled out and plopped down into the liquid acid, destroying it all.
We make our way to the center of the lab and see Jason, now several feet tall and monstrous looking with red eyes and rock-like spikes protruding out of his shoulder and face. He turns to us as we stop and stare at him in shock. âIâm gonna end this. Iâm gonna go up there and show myself to them. To the world. And then, this, this torture chamberâŚeverything, itâs all gonna burn.â Jason declares.
âNo. I have my brotherâs chip. All the evidence we need is right here. All we have to do is go public with it, like we planned. You donât have to do this.â Shen pleads to Jason. âThat wonât help anything. It wonât change what this countryâs done, or what itâs doing right now. You know that!â Jason growls then he looks at me and Leon. âI will show you fear.â He threatens and he turns from us, jumps on the railings then jumps up to the upper floor.
âJason!â Leon and I shout and we chase after him. We get up to the floor he was on and see him tearing a part of a ceiling. âJason, stop!â Leon shouts, he and I aiming our guns ant him, and Jason stops then turns to us. âI will show everyone what fear is! Then, then it will spread.â Jason growls. âThat wonât change anything!â I shout at him. âI will open their eyes to true terror!â Jason roars. âItâs the only way to keep this tragedy from ever happening again!â
âNo! It doesnât work that way!â I shouted at him but Jason turns to tear the roof apart again and Leon and I fire at him. âPlease. Donât.â Shen begs but it seems that bullets had no effect on Jason. He turns to face us again. âYou canât stop me!â He said the he goes to the end of the bridge we were on, grabs it then pulls it up, detaching us from him.Â
Shen, Leon and I grab onto the railings before he flings the bridge upwards, like one flings a towel to get dirt off of it. All three of us went flying in the air, Shen landed next to Jason while Leon and I were up in the air for a moment before Leon grabs onto the railings with one hand grabs my hand with the other just as I start to fall past him.
âYou saved Jun See. I wonât let you die like this.â I hear Shen said to Jason and I look over and see her standing in front of him, her hand on his exposed beating heart. Jason looks down at her and places his large clawed hand over hers and said. âIâm already dead.â and breaks her arm.
âJason, no!â Leon shouts and he pulls me up so I could grab onto the edge of the bridge. Once I grabbed on it, we both started to climb up. âJason, stop!â I shouted but too late when we heard a bone crunching sound. I look up and see that Jason had snapped Shenâs neck, instantly killing her.
âShit!â I growled and Leon and I start to climb up but the piece of the walkway bridge we were hanging off of broke off and we start to fall. âOver there!â Leon shouts, gesturing towards another walkway and I nod and we jump onto it as our bridge falls into the acid.
I groan once we land on the stable walkway and Leon gets up then leans down to me. âYou okay?â He asked me as he helps me up. âYeah.â I said just as we hear a familiar voice call out to us. âLeon! (Y/n)!â We look at each other then look around until we see Claire at the end of a nearby walkway.
âClaire?â Leon calls out and we run towards her. Once we get close to the edge of the walkway, I see that Claire was standing on a console of a small workshop. She reaches out towards us and I stop at the edge of the walkway and reach out to her with my right hand while Leon holds onto my left hand with his right and grabs onto a railing with his left.
âCome on!â I exclaim to Claire as she reaches out and I try to get closer to her. Finally, I was able to grab her hand and we pull her up towards us. âYou okay?â I asked her. âYeahâŚthanks.â She said and we hear a noise above us and we all look up to see Jason climbing up to the top of the lab.
We run and see the doors of the top of the lab was slowly closing. âClaire, control room. Keep him busy!â Leon said as he points to the control room one floor above us. âOn it.â She said and she runs towards it while Leon and I head to the elevator.
I pressed the button as Jason jumps up higher and higher, the elevator takes us up. After a few moments, the elevator door opens and we walk out and look around until I saw a weapons locker on my right. âOver here!â I said, running towards the locker as Leon runs up behind me.
Leon opens the gates door and I noticed a few rifles and a bazooka. âHow bout this?â I said as I grab the bazooka and pull it out of the locker. Leon looks at me and smirks as he takes the bazooka out of my hands. âHey, sexy.â He said once the weapon was in his hands. âTalking to me or the bazooka?â I asked, teasingly. âBoth.â He said, giving me a quick wink before we hear Jason jumping around.
But one of the platform he landed on started to lower down. Way to go, Claire. I thought as Leon gets ready and aims the bazooka at Jason as his platform gets across the room from us. Leon fires and the rocket hits the platform Jason was on and it collapsed. But Jason was able to grab onto a hanging hook before he could fall into the acid.
âDamnit.â Leon growls as Jason climbs up the chain then jumps over to another floor and grabs a walkway. âShit!â I exclaimed as Jason throws the walkways towards us. We run but the walkway hits us and we were flung off and fall onto a floor below us, both of us grabbing onto the side.
Both of us pull ourselves up and start to make our way up after Jason, who causes more destruction. We found another weapons locker and pull out a couple of assault rifles and go after Jason as he starts to tear up the ceiling.
âHey!â Leon shouts as we get close. Jason stops and turns to us while we aim our rifles at him. âYouâre not going anywhere!â Leon threatens and Jason lets out an aggressive yell. He charges at us and we fire at him, one of the bullets blowing his right arm off. He grabs Leon by the neck with his hand and kicks me down then place his foot on my chest, our guns had fallen out of our hands and down into the acid.
âWhy are you two trying to stop me?â Jason asked us, angrily, as he holds Leon up in the air and me on the ground. âDuty? Revenge?â He asked while Leon struggles in his grip and I struggle against his foot. Jason looks at Leon then at me before he turns and tosses Leon aside. âFear.â He said, final, then he removes his foot off of me then kicks me towards Leon.
âThen it will spread.â He said as my body slide up against Leon. I place my arms around my middle, groaning in pain from where Jasonâs foot resides seconds ago. Leon, who was on his side, leans up and looks down at me, fear etched on his face. The same type of fear I was feeling. âWhen they see meâŚthen this world will knowâŚterror!â Jason said as we look up at him.
Jason turns away from us and heads to the hole he made in the ceiling. I struggled to get up but Leon as able to get up first and go over to a nearby lever and pulls it. Metallic humming sounds out as I slowly get up, Leon goes to me, pulls me to his side with his left arm and holds onto a hanging rope above us with his right arm.
âHold on.â He whispers to me and I immediately wrap my arms around his neck and held on when the sound of a loud click sounds out. Jason turns to us, looking terrified, and the section we resided collapses, along with Jason. The floor and Jason fall down into the acid, finally ending Jason and the rising acid which then starts to dissipate. Below we could see there was still a piece of Jason that was impaled on a broken railing.Â
We make our way down and walk up to the remains of Jason, which was just a torso and head or what was left of one. âYour terror ends here, Jason. We wonât let anyoneâŚâ Leon started to say but, surprisingly, Jason gasps and raises his head to us. Leon and I raise our guns and aim it at him, even though there was probably no way for him to cause any damage to us as he had no legs and no arms.
âIt wonât endâŚâ Jason gasps. âYou two are here. Both of you are witnessesâŚto thisâŚfear. And now, youâŚboth of you will help it spread. And soonâŚsoon, everyone will know trueâŚâ he continues, in between gasps of breathes, before he lets out one last breath and his body slides off of the spike and splashes into the remaining acid liquid.
âLeon! (Y/n)!â Patrickâs voice called out after Leon and I watched the sunset once we got out of the lab, waiting on the Presidentâs plane to leave. âHey, I donât know how you two survived a sub blowing up but whatever happened downstairs, but holy shit, man. Thatâs some hero-level stuff.â Patrick complimented and Leon and I chuckle.
âNo, weâre just lucky.â I said. âOh, come on. You guys saved everyoneâs lives here. Plus, you two helped the President decide the course this countryâs gonna take for years to come. Nah. You two are definitely heroes.â Patrick said and the thee of us turn and watched the President board his plane. He stood then turns to see us and nods, we nod back to him and he gets into his plane and it begins to take off.
Couple days later, Leon and I walk out onto the streets, just outside of the White House, to see Claire standing there. She turns and smiles at us, her arm in a sling. âHey.â She greets, happily. âHowâs the arm?â I asked her. âBetter. I had to sneak out of the hospital, though.â She said and I shake my head at this. âHad to break the window. Climb down some bedsheets.â She said and Leon scoffs out a laugh.
âI thought I told you not to do anything stupid.â Leon said. âUh, hello. Iâm joking.â Claire chuckles. âWhen are you going to stop treating me like a kid?â She asked. âProbably never.â Leon said, shrugging, making me chuckle alittle.
âAnywaysâŚabout the chip. Do you guys have it?â She asked and both Leon and I furrow our brow at this. âThought you called cause you wanted to catch up.â I said, alittle disappointed, while Leon digs into his pocket and pulls the chip out. âI wanna make a copy of it and give it to all the newspapers. This thingâs gonna blow up, big time.â Claire said, excitedly.
Leon looks at the chip in his hand then looks to me, as if to ask me what I think. I shrugged, whatever he wants to do Iâm always gonna back him up. Leon and I share a long look before he looks back at Claire. âWe canât.â He said and Claire blinks, repeatedly, as the smile disappears from her face. âWhat?â She asked, disbelieving.
Both of us stand there, nothing to really say, and she glares at us. âSo thatâs how itâs gonna be. You guys do things your way, and I do things mine?â She asked, upset, and Leon and I nodded. I hated doing this to her butâŚshe doesnât need to get involved in this. This is much larger than she realizes.Â
âOkay. Fine.â She scoffs then turns away from us, walks a few feet away but stops then turns to face us but I noticed she looks straight at me. âYou knowâŚ.Jill would be so disappointed in you right now.â She said, lowly, and I bit my lips, feeling like I got stabbed in the heart from this comment. Claire turns away and walks off while Leon places an arm around my waist, comfortingly.
âWeâll stop this.â Leon whispers to me and I look up at him as he pockets the chip. âI know we will. Still sucksâŚâ I muttered and Leon gives a sympathetic nod. We stand there for a moment before we turn and head back to the White House while I get lost in thought and think over everything thatâs happened the last several days.
âLeonâŚâ I said and he hums at this as we continue to walk on. âI, uhâŚâ I stammer before I stop. Leon stops as well and turns to me, concerned washed over his face. âIâm so sorry for being reckless and worrying you. I thoughtâŚI thought I wasâŚready to come back butâŚguess I still have some anger left in me.â I revealed. I turn my head away and sigh before I feel Leonâs hands on my shoulder.
I look back at him as he starts to speak. âItâs okay, (y/n). I understand. I just want you to know that you donât have to do this alone. Iâm right here.â He said and I nodded. âI know.â I said, softly. âMaybe we can find something to help you with that feeling, that doesnât involve you getting killed.â Leon said and I chuckled. âTo do that, weâd have to quit our job.â I said and Leon chuckles. âYeahâŚâ he mutters and I chuckled alittle. âWeâll think of something.â He said and we share a look before he leans in and gives me a kiss.
Once we break the kiss, we began to walk towards the White House, hand in hand.
*3rd Person POV*
Weeks passed and (y/n) started to act like her normal self, with the addition of there was a bit of a pep in her step because of the proposal. Leon and (y/n) try to figure out when to have a wedding, or even who to invite as they didnât have a lot of friends thanks to their jobs. The only ones they considered friends is Chris, Hunnigan and Claire.
Eventually, they decided to just have a very small wedding with the small amount of people they had to witness their marriage. It was a nice stress free wedding and it also was a very nice honeymoon the two had afterwards.
Weeks turned into months as Leon and (y/n) continued on with work, either working together or having to work separately. Especially when Simmons would ask (y/n) to do some jobs for him, and only (y/n).Â
But then three years later, something crazy happened. Something that only could be explained as a miracle.
Jill Valentine was actually alive.
And so was Albert Wesker.
Turns out that, after surviving the fall, Wesker captured Jill and brainwashed her to be his accomplice. Chris went into Africa to meet with another agent to help him find Jill. And eventually, he brings Jill back alive and back to her normal self.
The amount of relief and joy (y/n) felt to see her big sister back couldnât be explained. When her and Leon waited at the airport for Chris and see Jill walking in next to him, (y/n) ran to her sister and tackled her into a hug, which Jill returned and had a big smile on her face.
âI just canât believe I missed it.â Jill said, upset, once her and (y/n) sit at (y/n)âs and Leonâs apartment. Leon went out for a bit to give the sisters space to catch up and talk. âI meanâŚI always wanted to be a part of your wedding. I always knew youâd be the one that wouldâve gotten married first.â Jill said, smirking, and (y/n) gives a soft smile.
âI wish you were there too. But itâs okay now, youâre back and alive and thatâs all I could ask for.â (Y/n) said and Jill gives a teary smile and the two hug again and just hold each other for a few more minutes before they break the hug. âSo, tell me something.â (Y/n) said and Jill raises an eyebrow at her. âDo blondes have more fun?â (Y/n) asked Jill, gesturing towards her new blonde hair instead of her normal brunette hair.
Jill chuckles at this. âNot really, no.â She said and (y/n) laughs. âSo, tell me something. When can I expect nieces and nephews?â Jill asked and (y/n) goes red in the face and Jill bursts out laughing. âUm, wellâŚ.funny thing about thatâŚâ (y/n) said, a bit nervously, and Jill stops laughing and looks at her younger sister in disbelief. âWaitâŚare you serious? Are youâŚ?â She asked and (y/n) bites her lips, trying and failing to hide her smile.Â
Jill gasps and places her hand over her mouth. âI found out this morning. And I was gonna tell Leon but then Chris called said you guys were heading backâŚâ (y/n) said and Jill lowers her hands and furrows her brow. âWait, Leon doesnât know yet?â She asked and (y/n) nods. âOh my God! I canât believe this!â Jill exclaims, excitedly.
âCanât believe what?â A voice asked and the girls look over at the door and see Leon entering in. Jill looks at (y/n) then back at Leon before she gets up, (y/n) stands up as well. âI think Iâll let my sister explain it. Iâll leave you two alone.â She said and she starts to leave as Leon walks over to his wife. âWhatâs going on?â Leon asked (y/n).
Jill walks over to the front door and stops for a moment as memories of the shit sheâs gone through the last three years flood her mind. Her heart beating hard against her chest and her head was spinning, feeling like the weight of the world was on her shoulders. She closes her eyes and shakes her head as if thatâll make the horrible memories go away.
âWait, are you serious?â Leonâs shocked voice asked and Jill opens her eyes, turns her head and sees Leon wrapping his arms around (y/n), lifts her up on her feet and spins around. âThatâs amazing, (y/n)! I canât believe it!â Leon said, happily, and (y/n) giggles, hugging him back, while Jill smiles before she leaves the room.
Despite what she was feeling just moments ago, she couldnât wait to see what the future brings for her sister, Leon and the baby even with the jobs they had. But being a special agent, nothing stays normal.

*3rd Person POV*
1 Hour Outside of ShanghaiÂ
Shen May walks up to the large ornate door before it opens up for her. She enters and walks along the little bridge as the door behind her closes. She walks up to a tall man who stands in front of another set of double doors. âMaster Yu En is waiting for you, miss.â He said and he leads her to inside. As they head inside, Leon and (y/n) had entered the area before the front large doors open, the two look around to figure out how they were gonna get inside.
The man leads Shen down a hall and towards tall dark brown doors and opens it. The man steps aside to let Shen inside the room as she hears Yu En talking. Shen walks over to the bed, that is shrouded in a thin veil, and sees Yu En sitting by the bed, looking down at a book.
âShen May.â Yu En said once he look up to see her entering. âGrandfather.â Shen greets as Yu En, an elderly man, stands up and walks up to Shen. âI used to read this to him when he was a child. It soothes him now.â Yu En said as Shen looks at the bed, where shallow breathing could be heard and the sound of a heart monitor beeping. âCome closer. Let him see your face.â Yu En said to Shen, who was staring at the bed anxiously.
Suddenly, the bedroom door bursts open and Leon and (y/n) storm in, Leon holding the male door greeter by gunpoint and (y/n) had her gun in her hand. Once they get up to Shen, (y/n) aims her gun at Shen. âStart talking.â She threatened and Yu En raises his hands up, in surrender.Â
Shen doesnât respond and Leon shoves the man down then raises his own gun towards Shen. The male door greeter stands up and faces the duo but Leon aims his gun at him while (y/n) keeps hers on Shen. âTry it, pal.â Leon taunts the male door greeter. The man backs up and stands next to Shen.
âWhenever youâre ready.â Leon growls to Shen, (y/n) glaring at Shen. âThe man lying here is Jun See.â Shen said as she looks at the bed behind her. âHeâs my little brother.â She added as she walks up to the bed. Leonâs and (y/n)âs harden glare turned into curiosity and confusion before Shen continues.
âThe U.S. government turned him into this.â Shen exclaimed, upset, and the duo looks over at the veiled covered bed and could just make out a person laying in the bed, who was still breathing heavily. Almost sounding like it is hard for him to breathe.
âWhat are you and Jason up to?â (Y/n) asked her. âLike he told you two beforeâŚâ Shen said, determined, as she turns to them. ââŚweâre trying to expose a conspiracy.â She said and Leon lowers his gun, (y/n) slightly lowers it but still kept it on Shen. âI came here to get the proof to out Defense Secretary Wilson as the one behind it.â Shen said and this makes (y/n) lower her gun completely once she hears this.
âJun See was with a special squad on a top-secret mission. Wilson, a major general at the time, was the commanding officer. But he was also working with a pharmaceutical company to make bio-organic weapons for military use.â Shen explained. âAnd Penamstan was just a test-run for his bioweapons.â (Y/n) said, slightly angry. âSon of a bitch.â Leon sighs, lowly.Â
âJason decided not to tell HQ about Jun See. He contacted our grandfather instead. Since Grandfather is the head of a conglomerate here in Shanghai, he used his connections to smuggle Jun See out. The Mad Dogs unit returned to base.â Shen explained as she looks at the fireplace. âAnd Wilson gave them a heroâs welcome, medals and all.â Leon said and Shen nods. âAs long as they took the inhibitor, theyâd stay alive and they wouldnât turn. And Wilson supplied the inhibitor. He held that over their heads and used the Mad Dogs Unit for personal, covert operations. They were Wilsonâs pets.â Shen said.
âAnd thanks to them, he got promoted to Defense Secretary.â (Y/n) said and Shen turns to face them and nods. âExactly. Even though heâs a senior U.S. official now, he continues developing bioweapons with some pharmaceutical company on the side. We still havenât figured it out who they are yet. But Wilson wants to be rich and powerful, and the inhibitor is his key to that kingdom.â Shen said.
âThen Wilson forced Jason to start the outbreak at the White House and sabotage the sub. Just to get the President pissed off enough at China to start a war.â Leon said, putting the pieces together, and (y/n) lets out an exasperated sigh. âWhen I smuggled Jun See out of Penamstan, the virus had transformed him so much, I could not recognize him.â Yu En said and he opens the bed curtain for Leon and (y/n) to see the young man.
âI have spent my life savings to find a way to rid him of the thing that is eating away at him.â Yu En said as the duo look and see the decomposing body of Jun See. He didnât look human, his eyes were gone and the eyelids were shriveled, his lips had also rotted away enough to see his teeth, his head and face were covered in rock-like fragments. A breathing tube was through his nose and several pins on his head attached to a machine to read his brain.
âI failed you.â Yu En cried while (y/n) was taken aback at what she was looking at. âI went looking for evidence against Wilson, because I wanted revenge. Jason wanted out from under Wilsonâs control, so I decided to work with him. And after six years of digging, we realized the proof fee needed to bring Wilson down was right under our noses.â Shen said as Yu Wn goes to a bookcase, presses something and the case moves, revealing a safe.
âAll of the prototype bioweapon soldiers had chips embedded in their bodies. Those chips were designed to record their vitals as well as all their combat data.â Shen said as Yu En puts in the passcode in the safe, opens it and pulls out a small metal box. âA chip, huh?â Leon said, skeptical, as Yu En walk up to Shen and hands the small box to her. âEverything about Jun See is recorded on that. Including who created him and who sent him into battle.â She said as Yu En opens the box, revealing a small chip encased in a protective case.
âHe thinks all the evidence was burned to ash.â She said as she holds up the chip. âIncluding your brother.â (Y/n) said and Shen turns to her and Leon, nodding slightly. âJason believed that if we went public with this, we could expose Wilson and put an end to the development of bioweapons. And him.â Shen said. After hearing all of this, Leon and (y/n) share a look before a loud explosion sounds out.
Everyone gasps and the roof starts to break and collapse. âHao Ran!â Shen shouts to the man as the roof rubble falls like rain over them and lands on Hao. Leon and (y/n) tackle Shen away from the large chunks of the roof as Yu En went over to Jun See and leans over him, protecting him from the rubble.
âWe gotta go. Now!â Leon shouts as him and (y/n) helps Shen up to her feet but she starts to fight in the grasps as she reaches out towards the bed. âGrandfather! Jun See!â She screams but then the bed started to catch on fire. âNo! Grandfather! Jun See!â Shen screams as Leon and (y/n) hold her back. âCome on! Move!â (Y/n) shouts, her and Leon pulling her away and get out of the building before they could be trapped inside.
After getting out of the building and watching it burn to the ground, the trio make their way back towards the burnt remains of the once standing building as the sun rises. Seeing next to nothing was left from the fire, none of them could believe what just happened.
Leon then pulls out the chip from his pocket. âGive me the chip. If we go public with it, everything that Wilson has been doing will be out in the open.â Shen demanded. âIf we do that, youâll have every agent in the U.S. hunting you.â Leon tells her. âI have to do it, so that everything that happened to Jun See will never happen again.â Shen said, firmly. âI know you two understand. Raccoon City was the beginning. We canât let what happened in Penamstan stay buried. Jason wants justice.â Shen said and Leon shakes his head.
âNo. Jason doesnât give a damn about justice. He wants the work to know what real terrorâs like. The kind him and his men knew. He wants that to be the new reality for everyone, and thenâŚhe wants to burn it all down.â Leon replied and Shen looked at him, disbelieving, while (y/n) seemed to agree with Leon. âHe wouldnât do that.â Shen argues and (y/n) turns to her, raises her arms out to her sides.
âLook around you!â She yells and Shen looks around at the burnt remains of her grandfatherâs home. âShen MayâŚwhere is he?â Leon asked Shen as he takes a step towards her.

*(y/n)âs POV*
Border of Chinese Territorial Waters
12 Nautical Miles From Shanghai
âJason? Hey, Jason!â Leon calls out as he and I stand in the rest area, the next day. Jason was sitting at a table and he had fallen asleep but he looked like he was twitching a bit at this. He startles awake when Leon calls out to him and he begins to gasp and pant, looking around. âYou wanna talk about it?â Leon asked and Jason doesnât say anything as he takes in some quick deep breaths, his hand twitches, but continues to stay quiet. We start to leave the room until Jason speaks up.
âHave a seat.â Jason tells us and we walk back over and sit across from him at the table. âYou look like you were having a nightmare.â I said to him as we sit down. âThey call me the hero of Penamstan. Some fucking hero.â Jason scoffs the sighs, exasperated. âEvery night, I have the same nightmare. About Penamstan. That day. Penamstan. That was hell.âÂ
âYeah. I bet.â Leon said and I nod. âYou two have no idea.â Jason said and he looks down at the table and I felt a bit of annoyance at what he just said. âLook. We canât imagine what it was like for you. But Leon and I have been through some shit ourselves. Raccoon City.â I said and Jason looks up at us. âThey sterilized that place. You two were there?â He asked, looking at us in interest. âYeah.â Leon and I said, in unison.
âI was just a rookie cop late as hell on his first day.â Leon said. âAnd I was cop one year into her career and was there to experience it all from day one. Thatâs why weâre still alive.â I said. âThere were zombies everywhere. I rememberâŚpeople screaming. Moaning. Theyâd get bit, and then theyâd turn. It was terrifying.â Leon said and I nod, mindlessly, remembering that night.
âThereâs no way to describe it exceptâŚâ I started to explain before Jason finishes the line. âHell.â He said. âYeah.â Leon said and he leans back into his chair while I lean forward and fold my hands over each other on the table. âThe government wiped the city off the map and covered it all up.â Leon explained. âSure. They didnât want it to spread. You destroy a city to save a country. Thatâs a tough call, but someoneâs gotta make it.â Jason said, shrugging, slightly, and I look up at him, my eyes narrowed at this.
âThere were people alive in there. There were families alive in there. And they didnât even try to get them out! So, tough call my ass!â Leon said, angrily, and he gets up and I follow after him. âLook, I get it.â Jason said as I hear him stand up, we turned to face him. âYou two were cops. It was your job to protect those people and you want justice for them. But agents like us, we donât get to think that way anymore. Itâs a new world and we just gotta roll with it.â Jason said, raising his arms up at this.
âYou cannot save a country, if you donât give a damn about the people in it.â I yelled at Jason. âBefore, you said terrifying.â Jason said as he looks at Leon then he looks between us. âDo you know where the root of terror comes from?â He asked. âI donât follow.â Leon said. âNeither do I.â I added. âIt starts with fear.â Jason said as he points to his left temple. Okay, thanks for that, Captain Obvious. I thought, sarcastically.
âYeahâŚâ Jason said, sounding like he dropped some important knowledge on us. âHumans. Humans fear the unknown. And there is nothing more unknowable than us. As a speciesâŚoh, weâre unpredictable. Weâre cruel. Especially when weâre trying to survive.â Jason said as he turns away. âYeah. The Greeks said it best. There is much to fear in this world but nothing more so than humans.â
Suddenly, the submarine shakes and we all tumble over. Jason leans against the table as Leon grabs me, pulls me towards him with his right arm and used his left hand to place on the other table next to Jason. I wrapped my arms around his waist and we all look up. âWhat the fuck was that?â Leon asked as we all share a look.
The three of us run out of the room and head to the main deck and see all the crew members were all slumped over on their own consoles. âHey. You all right?â Leon asked one person and pulls them up. I jumped slightly at this as we see that this guyâs throat was ripped to shreds.
âShit.â Leon mutters as I look around to see all the others were killed similarly. Leon and I share a look, pull out our guns and we start to leave when Jason stops us. âHey. Weâre in a pressurized tube underwater. Remember?â He growled at us and we holster our guns and pull out our knives and we split up.
Leon and I walk down a small walkway and see a dead body on the floor. Leon kneels down to it to check it over before looking up at me and shakes his head. I nod and we continue on, cautiously. We come upon another section of the submarine to see four dead men at the back of the room.
âWhat the hell is going on?â I asked Leon. Before he could reply, we heard something squelching and crunching. Both of us look down and see something trying to protrude out of one of the dead bodies. Leon pushes me behind him as the stomach of the body bursts open and a rat climbs out. âJesus!â I exclaimed, disgusted, as we back up. âYou gotta be shitting me.â Leon mutters and the rat sniffs around and looks at us.
It lets out a squeal and starts to run at us before Leon kicks it like a football. It lands back a few feet then starts to run at us again but I grab a fire extinguisher, raise it up then slammed it down on the rat once it got close to us. I removed the extinguisher off of it then set it aside as Leon stares at it. âItâs a bioweapon.â He said, plainly. âHow the hell did a bioweapon ended up here?â I asked.
Then the emergency alarms goes off. âCode 13 has been activated. This submarine will self-destruct in five minutes.â The PA system said and Leon and I share a look then we heard some squelching noise. âAll crew, board the ASDS2 and evacuate. Commencing countdown. Five minutes to self-destruct.â The PA system said as Leon and I look back at the dead bodies and saw several more rats bursting out of the bodies and started to come at us.
âWish I had some cheese.â Leon quips as we back away then turn and run. We then turn, shut the door and run out of that small hall and end up at another section and shut the door before we sprint off.
We run for several seconds but then Leon stops and holds his arm out to stop me. He was looking down at the floor and I follow his eyes to see there was another dead body on the ground. But he looked like something had already burst out of him. Noises came from above us and we look up to see several more rats on the fucking ceiling.Â
âThis just keeps getting better.â I said as a few rats fall on the floor. âThree minutes, thirty seconds until self-destruct.â The PA system said as one of the rats jump at us but Leon stabs it and slams it against a wall with an electrical breaker next to us.
I look to my right and see an emergency case for an axe. I use my elbow to break the glass and pull the axe out of it, then I swing at a pipe next to me while the rats land on the body and began to eat on it. The pipe breaks and water spills out of it and the rats start to run at us.
I turn to Leon and he nods, understanding what I was doing, before he gestures to me then his back. I nod back at him, hand him the axe and I jump on his back, wrapping my arms around his neck like a monkey, just as he jumps and grabs the ceiling pipes the uses his left hand to throw the axe at the breaker which causes the electricity to hit the water.
The rats all twitch and groan as they get electrocuted. Leon and I stare at the floor for a few moments while we let out a few quick breathes.
Once it was all said and done, we make our way to the ASDS2 entrance and open the door to see several more men on the ground but they look like they were stabbed. âDamn it.â Leon growled. âSixty seconds until self-destruct.â The PA system warned and start to count down while we head up the steps, Leon lets me go first.
I get up to the door and turn the wheel until I heard a click and I open it, only to be greeted by a gun to the head, held by Shen. âWeâre not rats.â I said as she continues to aim the gun at me while the countdown continued. âYou wanna get that out of my face?â I said to her before Jason comes up and push her gun down. âYouâll kill us all.â He tells her and I look between them.Â
âAre we interrupting something here?â I asked, suspiciously. They finally let us in the escape pod, close it up and detach from the submarine then drive off just seconds before the submarine explodes.
Shanghai,
Peopleâs Republic Of China
Shen leads us into an apartment complex and to the top floor. âThis is it.â she said as she goes to a door on the right and reaches out to the top of the door. âSecure.â She tells Jason then she pulls out her knife and swashes at the tape that was around the door.
When she pulled back her knife, I noticed there was dried blood on the blade. I reach my right hand out to Leon and gave three quick taps on his left hand. I see him turn his head from the corner of my eyes and I nod towards Shen as she cuts the tape and pulls her knife back. I then felt him give my hand two quick taps, which told me he saw it too.
We get inside the room and we all search around the room and cabinets to find various weapons and ammo. Once we had enough, Shen went out to the town to grab some supplies while Jason sits in the living room and smokes a cigarette. âAll right, we made it to shore. You wanna brief us?â Leon asked as he and I go sit on the sofa across from Jason.
âYou can start by tells us what youâre really after. I mean, you killed the crew. Must be a major op, right?â I accused but Jason stays quiet. âIf youâre not gonna break into the facility, what are you here for?â Leon asked. âShen May and I are on a different mission. Weâre looking for something else.â Jason replied and Leon and I looked at him, surprised.
âWhat?â We asked. âProof that will expose a conspiracy by the U.S. government.â Jason replied and I felt shocked by this  and Leon scoffs. âTreason. Fun. (Y/n) and Iâll be sure to put that in our report.â Leon said, sarcastically. Jason slowly reaches down to the table in front of him and pick up the cigarette he laid on the ash tray.Â
âIt wonât do you two any good. Theyâll just cover it up, like they always do. And both of you know how good they are at covering things up. Theyâre the bad guys here.â Jason replied. âWhereâs your proof?â I asked him. âThatâs what weâre here for. And you two are going to help us get it.â Jason replied. âYou want our help? You just killed a sub full of people.â Leon said, offended, and Jason inhales then exhales, tensely.
âRemember when I told you two about terror? It starts with fear. You cultivate it, and you watch it spread, and thenâŚthen youâve got terror.â Jason said and Leon scoffs. âYou can tell them all about it at your court-martial.â Leon threatened as he leans forward. âSo you two are not gonna help us, then?â Jason asked and I scoff. âNope.â Leon and I said and Jason glares at us and sniffs at this.
He quickly grabs his gun but Leon and I were quicker and shot him. Then Shen May came around the corner and fired at us. We ducked behind the sofa as she fired at us, we peeked over the sofa and shot at her but she ducked behind the corner wall. She fired at us a couple more times before she runs out of the room.
Leon and I stand up and run after her but once we got out of the room and look down the staircases, she was gone. âDamn it.â Leon growls and I let out an annoyed, frustrated sigh.

2 Years After Saving Ashley GrahamÂ
âHey, honey.â Leonâs voice greeted through the phone. âHey, baby. Iâm needing a favor.â I said as I placed the frying pan on the stove. âSure.â He said. âI was wondering, before you get home, could you pick up a bottle of wine, please? Iâm cooking steak for dinner and I forgot to pick up some wine.â I said as I turn the stove on then poured a bit of oil in the pan.
âWine? And youâre cooking? Whatâs the occasion?â Leon asked, curiously. âUh, you finally coming home after being gone the past few weeks.â I said and he chuckles. âIâve missed you too.â Leon replied, making me smile. âIn that case, one wine bottle coming up.â He said. âThank you, baby.â I said, appreciatively. âIâll see you in a few?â He said. âYeah, Iâll see you when you get here.â I said. âOkay, I love you.â He said, somehow still making my heart flutter. âI love you too.â I said back then I hang up and get started on cooking the steak.
*3rd Person POV*
Leon chuckles as he hangs up the phone and puts it in his pocket. For the past month, he had been out on a mission for the government while (y/n) was doing some local work for Derek Simmons. Leon didnât like that she had to work for Simmons from time to time as Simmons always gave Leon a bad feeling. He also couldâve sworn that Simmons mightâve had a little thing for (y/n), just from the way Simmons stared at her. The way his eyes lingered on her body, it always pissed Leon off.
He shakes his head at this, gets in his car and starts to make his way to the liquor store. Even if that did piss him off, Leon knew that (y/n) could handle herself; itâs one of the things he loved so much about her among other things about her he loved.Â
After getting the wine, he gets into the car and sets the bottle in the cup holder before leaning over to the glovebox and opens it. Inside was various papers but also a small box and he picks it up and opens it, revealing a diamond ring. He smiles at it and started to feel hopeful but also nervous. âCâmon, you got this. Itâs not hard. You love her and she loves you. You two have lived together for the past year and things are going great! And this feels right.â He said, hyping himself up. But what if she says no? An unsure voice asked and Leon closes his eyes and sighs. She wonât. But if she does thenâŚI guess weâll figure things out afterwards. MaybeâŚÂ he thought before he sighs once again and looks back down at the box.
âLetâs just see how tonight goes.â He mutters to himself and he shuts the box, tucks it in his jacket pocket and start to make his way to their shared apartment.
*(y/n)âs POV*
I had just finished setting up the table and started to place the steak, potatoes and vegetables on the table when I heard a knock at the door. Weird, usually Leon just enters. I thought and I head to the door and open it, seeing that it was Chris Redfield. âChris? Hey! Didnât know you were back! How did it go?â I greeted and Chris looked very bothered and upset. I know he and Jill went off to a mission to find and bring in Umbrellaâs CEO as they had found him. Usually when Jill is back, sheâd text me but Chris showing up unannounced really surprised me.
âEverything ok? Is Jill with you?â I asked and Chris lowered his eyes then he takes in a deep breath. â(Y/n)âŚâ he said before he rises his head, slowly, to look at me, his eyes had the look of someone who was haunted by what heâs seen. âWe need to talkâŚâ he said, with a firm somber tone, and I furrow my brow with concern. âChris, youâre scaring me.â I said, my voice shaking slightly.
*3rd Person POV*
Leon walks down the hallway of the apartment complex towards his and (y/n)âs apartment, wine bottle in hand. Once he gets to their room number, he goes to open it but heard a noise through the door. He listens closely and realized that it was crying and it sounded like (y/n).Â
Worried, he quickly opens the door, seeing into the living room area where (y/n) was sitting at the couch and could see her shoulders shaking. Sitting next to her was Chris Redfield as he placed a comforting arm around her shoulders. âChris? (Y/n)?â Leon said and the two look over at him. âWhatâsâŚâ Leon started to ask before (y/n) gets up and runs in his arms, crying in his chest.
âHey, hey, heyâŚâ Leon said to her, comforting, as he wraps his arms around her then looks at Chris, who looked like he could be sick. âWhatâs going on?â Leon asked, confused, and Chris began to explain what happened. He and Jill found Oswell Spencer but he was already dead, killed by Albert Wesker. And during their fight, Wesker almost got the upper hand on Chris and was about to kill him until Jill jumped in and saved his life.
Jill and Wesker fell out of a window and down into the cliff below. Both of them were dead.
Weeks go by after this as Leon stays by (y/n)âs side as she deals with the grieving process. He would cook her food and get her to eat even though she would reject the food, he would hold her whenever she needed to cuddle and cry, he even helped her with arrangements for the funeral and went with her.
(Y/n) barely spoke, only when she really needed to, which is unlike her as she always liked to talk. But Leon understood the reason and he was as patient as a turtle through it all.
After an appropriate amount of time has past, (y/n), slowly but gradually, started eating on her own again and opening up again, no longer requiring Leon to care for her like she was a hospital patient.
She even started doing chores around the apartment again and one day when she was doing laundry, she open Leonâs drawer to put some of his jeans away when she notice something tucked away in the corner.
She furrow her brow and reached in between the folded up jeans and shorts to pull out a small ring box. She lets out a soft gasp when she realizes what it is and drops the stack of jeans she was holding.Â
âThis canât beâŚâ She mumbled to herself as she lifts up the lid and sees it was indeed a Diamond engagement ring. She lets out a yelp of surprise as she quickly closes up the box again, as if that will make her forget what she just saw.Â
She looks down at the ring box, feeling guilty for having to discover it. Knowing Leon, he probably wanted to give her a romantic moment and then surprise her with it. A surprise that is now ruin cause she had to be so nosy.Â
âHow long has he had this?â She muttered to herself, finding it odd that he would get an engagement ring when sheâs mourning the loss of her sister. He mustâve gotten it before Jillâs unfortunate mission. A voice in her head rationed and (y/n) couldnât help but kick herself for this.
âOh JillâŚwhat do I do?â She quietly asked, feeling at a loss now. Should she let Leon know she found the engagement or put it back and try to pretend she never saw it?
Hours later, (y/n) sits at the couch, her hands clasped together on her lap, while the ring box was on the coffee table in front of the couch. She decided she needed to tell Leon she found the ring as she knew sheâd feel guilty if she didnât come clean about it. Leon is too sweet to lie to and heâs done nothing but take care of her during her time of need.
She lets out a heavy sigh just as the front door opens. âHere we go.â She whispered, grabbing the ring box and raises her head and sees Leon walking in, holding a bag of takeout food. âHey, baby.â Leon said as he walks over to the left, towards the kitchen counter to set the food down.
âHey, honey.â She greeted, smiling alittle. âHey uhâŚthe president is calling for an important meeting tomorrow. I told him I wasnât for sure if you were ready to come back to work and he said he understands butâŚhe insisted this is important.â Leon said, giving the news as gentle as he could and (y/n) gives him a soft smile. âI appreciate your concernâŚIâm fine, Leon. Iâm ready to get back into it.â She said and Leon looked a bit relieved at this.
He turns away and starts to unpack the food while (y/n) takes in a deep breath and lets it out before she speaks. âBefore we eat, thereâs something I need to tell you.â She said and Leon pauses for a moment before going back to putting stuff away. âWhat is it?â He asked and (y/n) freezes for a moment then holds out the ring box.
âWell, I was doing some laundry and I was putting some of your clothes away andâŚwell, I found this.â She said and Leon turns to face her and his eyes widen once he sees the ring box. âShit.â He mutters, lowering his head. âIâm sorry, it was an accident andâŚâ she stammers and Leon shakes his head. âNo, itâs not your fault, (y/n). Itâs my fault for not hiding it better.â He said before he lets out a small chuckle.
âH-How long have you had this ring?â (Y/n) asked him and he looks back at her. âAbout a year now. I just kept waiting for the right opportunity, the right moment. And the day when I was finally gonna ask youâŚChris came in and told you about..Jill.â Leon said and now it was (y/n)âs turn to look shock. âLeonâŚâ she whispered, sympathetically, and he shrugs.
âItâs okay, baby. Consoling you and helping you through that was..is..my first priority.â He said and he walks closer to her, takes the ring box out of her hand and looks down at it. (Y/n) felt a bit guilty at finding it but also felt appreciative and loved that he made her his priority. That was Leon for ya, always putting other people above himself. She loved that about him and is the reason why she always made sure to make him feel special because he deserves it.
Leon sighs as he looks at the ring and (y/n) looks at it then to him. âSooo, what are you waiting for?â She asked, a hint of flirtatious tease in her voice. Leon raises his head to stare at her, looking surprised. âYou sure? I-I was gonna do something special andâŚâ he said, quickly, and (y/n) giggles. âLeon, I donât care that weâre not at a fancy restaurant or out somewhere in public, I just want to hear you say whateverâs on your mind.â She said and a small smile forms on Leonâs lips.
He bites his lips then takes a deep breath before letting it out and looks into her (e/c) eyes. âI did have a long speech to give when I had this planned out butâŚGod, my mind is kinda drawing a blank on me now.â He said and (y/n) chuckles. âI justâŚI love you, so muchâŚI know our lives are not normalâŚ.butâŚâ he then opens up the ring box, takes the ring out and sets the box on the counter, holding the ring up. âI would love nothing more than for you to marry me and continue to join me on this crazy life. And maybe try to find and have a bit of normalcy in our life. So, (y/n) Valentine, would you do me the honor of being my wife?â Leon asked, getting down on one knee, and (y/n) felt a tear run down her cheek.
âYes, yes, of course!â She said and Leon smiled, stands up, takes her left hand and slides the ring on her ring finger. (Y/n) giggles and smiles at the ring before she looks up at Leon and embraces him in a hug. She then raises her head to look at him as he leans in to kiss her, passionately. âI love you.â He whispers in between kisses. âI love you too.â She whispers back.
*3rd Person POV*
2006
The White House
A woman with long dark hair in a ponytail, Shen May, walks along the hallway towards a door of the White House and knocked on it. âThirty minutes should do. The presidentâs scheduledâŚâ an assistant said into his phone as Shen enters. He stops, looks at Shen and gestures for her to go into the room that was on her left. âAn emergency call from a congressman. Iâm sure that can wait till later.â The man continued on his phone as Shen enters the room where two other men resided, Patrick, a young looking dark haired man, and Jason, a short dark blonde bearded man.
âYouâre the third agent?â Patrick asked Shen, who nods alittle. âWhereâs the fourth and fifth? Thereâs supposed to be five of us.â He continued, holding a water bottle before Shen takes it out of his hands. âLeon and (y/n) should be on their way.â Shen said as she goes to take a seat, Patrick looking puzzled.
âLeon and (y/n)? As in, the two who saved the presidentâs daughter?â Patrick asked, confused almost like he didnât understand why those two would be a part of this. âYup, that Leon and (y/n). Theyâre more than qualified.â Shen said, sitting down in her chair. Patrick scoffs at this. âQualified? More like lucky. Theyâre only the golden boy and girl now because they were in the wrong place at the right time.â Patrick dismissed.
âTheyâve successfully handled dozens of critical missions. In fact, theyâre on their way here from that terror attack in Pittsburgh.â Shen informed but Patrick didnât look swayed. âBut I heard (y/n) hasnât been on missions the last few months, so she could beâŚâ Patrick started to argue but Shen interrupted. âShe lost her sister, itâs understandable why she took off.â Shen said but Patrick rolls his eyes.Â
âLike I saidâŚâ he started to say but Jason finally speaks up. âIn this line of work, luck doesnât solve problems. Skills do.â Jason tells him and Patrick scoffs again while the presidentâs assistant enters the room and claps his hands. âPresidentâs ready. Come on.â He said and the three agents stand up and follow him out of the room and head to the Oval Office.
âItâs an honor to be working with the hero of Penamstan.â Patrick said to Jason. âHero?â Jason questions. âYeah.â Patrick mutters, noticing Jasonâs tone, as they continue to walk.
âCopy. Runway 01. Wind, 30 at 5 knots.â A pilot said into his headset then looks over his shoulder at the couple sitting behind him. âNever gotten clearance to land that fast before. You two must be special.â He said but neither the man nor the woman say anything.
The man, Leon Kennedy, looked out the window on his right while the woman, (y/n) Valentine, looked out the window on her left. But her fingers were fiddling with a dog tag hanging from her neck, the name Jill Valentine and her S.T.A.R.S information engraved on the silver tag. (Y/n) sighs through her nose before she felt a hand on her thigh, she looks over to see the hand belong to Leon, of course.
He had a look on his face as if to say you okay? She gives him a small smile and nods. She always appreciated how caring and understanding Leon has been to her ever since they found out Jillâs untimely death. Even though she was doing better than she had been in months, she still felt sad and a bit empty with the loss of her sister. That was something (y/n) believed sheâll never get over even when the years go by.
She placed her right hand on Leonâs hand then intertwined their fingers together and gave a reassuring squeeze. Leon turns, slightly, in his seat to face her before he reaches out his right hand to her and caress her cheek. (Y/n) closes her eyes as Leon strokes his thumb on her cheek and then removed his hand off of her before he grabbed her left hand, running his thumb over the newly diamond ring on her ring finger.
At that moment, the helicopter begins to land in the White House grounds.
âUnauthorized access?â Patrick asked as they keep walking down the hall. âSomeone tries to get some confidential files pertaining to the president.â The assistant tells them and they get to the door and he opens it, revealing the Oval Office.
âThank you for waiting, gentlemen. Two agents are still en route. But these three are the most qualifiedâŚâ the assistant said to the President and another older man, the Secretary of Defense Wilson. âPlease, letâs get started.â President Graham said then he turns to Wilson. âDefense Secretary Wilson?â
âYesterday we received an alert that one of our servers was compromised.â Wilson explains as Shen, Jason and Patrick enters the office. âIt contains the Pentagonâs military secrets and other files that are highly sensitive in nature. Normally an authorization code from the president is required to log on. But somehow they bypassed that step.â Wilson informs.
âWhy is top-secret data on a server with outside access?â Patrick asked, curiously. âIt canât be accessed externally. The serverâs on a 100-percent local network.â Wilson replied. âThen it was an inside job.â Jason said and the assistant shrugs. âWeâve looked through the surveillance footage from every angle. We havenât locked down any suspects yet.â The assistant said as he goes to sit on the couch across from Wilson. âUntil we do, everyone who entered or left the White House in the 24 hours before or after the hack is a suspect.â He said and Graham shakes his head and goes to sit at his desk.
âGuess that rules us three out.â Jason said. âWeâd like you to find and apprehend the person who broke into the server.â The assistant said. âI suppose we should start by looking at the surveillance footage.â Shen suggests. âThatâll take days. We should get someone else to do that.â Patrick said.
âActually, I have my suspicions.â Wilson said. âNot this again.â Graham grumbles, exasperating. âChina has been waging a cyberwar against this country for years. Putting our government, our military, and our citizens all at risk. The internet is only the first stage.â Wilson said. âSecretary. Making blind assumptions will only make things worse. We donât know it was them. We donât know anything yet.â Graham said. âHundreds of people come and go here everyday. You and your family, Mr President. The staff, dignitaries, tours. Even the gardeners. It could be anybodyâŚâ Patrick said.
At that moment, the lights go off. âWhatâs going on?â The assistant asked as he stands up. The door bursts open and a few men run in and two of them push the president down to his seat. âQuiet. Everyone, down.â One of them said as one pushes the assistant down to his seat and another stands by Wilson to make sure he doesnât get up.
âLonghornâs secure. Bring the Beast around.â The guard said into his earpiece as he and the other guards get into a stance, their guns raised. âDoes anyone know whatâs happening here?â Wilson asked. âThis is no accident. Iâm gonna take a look outside. Patrick, with me.â Jason said. âRoger that.â Patrick said and he and Jason walk out of the office, cautiously.
âEveryone stay calm. Back to your offices. Lock the doors, and stand by.â Patrick tells some of the employees as he and Jason walk down the hall, their guns in one hand and a flashlight in the other. Jason and Patrick get to an opening to another hallway and Jason goes on the other side. He gestures for Patrick to look at that hallway while he goes the other way.
Patrick runs down the hall then comes upon a corner then leans back and peels around the corner to see someone walking down the hall, or shambling that is. The person groans in pain and Patrick walks out and turns his flashlight on and recognizes the man. âPress Secretary Spacer. What happened?â He asked Spacer, who was leaning against a wall and holding his neck.
âI donât know. It got dark, and IâŚI got hit from behind.â Spacer said. âDid you see who it was? Did they take anything?â Patrick asked. âNo.â Spaced mutters then he slides down the wall and sits down. Patrick pulls out his walkie-talkie. âIâve got Press Secretary Spacer with me. Heâs injured.â Patrick said as he gets a better look at Spacer, who had some cuts and blood on his face but he still held onto his neck. âHeâs got a head wound, but heâs conscious. He says, he was attacked.â Patrick said and Jason runs up to him.
âWhatâs going on?â He asked. âSomebody hit him.â Patrick replied before he looks back at Spacer. âIâve gotta take care of that wound.â He said. âWell, get to it. Iâll check upstairs.â Jason said. âRight.â Patrick said and Jason walks away while Spacer falls to his side, letting out groans and moans of pain. âMr. Spacer? Mr. Spacer, sir. Whatâs wrong?â Patrick asked and Spacerâs arm falls to his side, he lays on his back and stops moving.
Patrick checks for a pulse then his eyes before he goes to his walkie-talkie again. âSecretary Spacerâs going into cardiac arrest. Iâm getting the AED.â Patrick said and he walks away from Spacer, grabs the AED and start to gather it up when Spacer sits upright, quickly. Patrick turns and looks at him as Spacer lets out a gargled groan.
âMr. Spacer?â He asked and Spacer starts to run at him but Patrick grabs him and pushes him up against the wall. But Spacer was able to move around and goes to attack Patrick again but the young agent kicks him back, pulls his gun out and aims it at Spacer. âStand down, or Iâll shoot.â Patrick warns but Spacer runs at him.Â
Patrick doesnât fire and Spacer grabs onto him but Patrick pulls him down then kicks him upwards. He gets up and looks to see Spacer had landed on the chandelier above him before it collapses from the weight. Spacer then runs on his knees at Patrick who does several shots but either he missed or hit him in the torso as he crawls away from him until he ran out of ammo.
Patrick cowers back as Spacer gets closer but then another gunshot sounds out and a bullet hits Spacer in the head. His head exploded and he falls back. Patrick gets up, stares at Spacer then turns around to see Leon behind him. âLeon?â He asked. âShoot them in the head. That stops them.â Leon informed. âCome on.â
âSWATâs en route.â Jason tells Leon as he pulls a panel off of the wall in the Oval Office, a row of guns hidden behind it. âThey can deal with the zombies up here, and get the power back up.â Jason said as he hands a rifle to Leon then another to (y/n). âWeâll head to the bunker.â Jason said as he hands the rifles to the other guards.
âAre they really zombies?â Graham asked. âYes, sir. Sorry, (y/n) and I didnât get here sooner.â Leon tells him as he and (y/n) pass around the guns. âIâm indebted to you two for getting my daughter Ashley back. Besides, with you two here, we just might survive this.â Graham said, appreciatively.
âI never thought what happened at Raccoon City could happen here.â Jason grumbles as he makes sure everyone has guns. âWe all ready?â He asked and everyone gives a thumbs up. âLetâs get the president to the bunker. Stay sharp.â Jason said and he leads everyone out of the office.
They all run down the hallway, all of them have their guns raised, while Graham stays in the middle of the group. A zombie growls and walks towards them but Leon and a couple other guards fire at the zombie, killing it. âWhy are they here?â (Y/n) asked, under her breath
Eventually, they make it to the bunker and Jason presses the buttons on the panel. âPatrick, stay with the President.â Jason tells Patrick. âLeon, (y/n), Shen May, with me.â He adds as Graham and the guards head inside the bunker. Jason then turns to look at Leon and (y/n). âIâm counting on those skills of yours.â He said and him and Shen May walk off.
Patrick starts to follow Graham and the guards but Leon stops him. âHey.â He said and Patrick turns to him. âYou good?â Leon asked. âYeâYeah. Iâm just a little freaked out. Iâve never seenâŚzombies before.â Patrick replied, shakily. Then he looks up at Leon. âThanks for back there.â He said, appreciatively. âOkay.â Leon said and pats Patrick on the back. âJust be careful.â (Y/n) said and Patrick nods before her and Leon go after Jason and Shen May.Â
âAnything even remotely hostile gets a headshot.â Jason tells the group as they come upon some stairs. âWhatever you do, donât let them reach the bunker. Understood?â Jason asked. âRight.â Shen said while Leon and (y/n) nod and the four began their separate ways to begin their search.
(y/n) and Leon head down a hall to look around before Leon opened a door to see several zombies inside. The two began to fire at them before they could get close but then one jumps onto Leon, knocking him down but holding his rifle out to keep the zombie from biting him. Feeling fear in her chest, (y/n) tackles the zombie off of him and the two roll a few feet while a few more come in at the hall.Â
Leon gets up and fires at a couple of the zombies while (y/n) gets on top of the zombie she tackled then, feeling a burst of rage, stabbed the monster several times in the chest before she stabbed it in the head. Then a couple of zombies come at (y/n) and she gets up, pulls out her pistol and shoots both zombies in their knees before running at one and stabbed it in the neck.
She stabs it again in the neck before stabbing it in the head then turns her sights on the other zombie as it tries to get up. She raises her knife and stabs it in the head but does it again and again. â(Y/n)!â Leonâs voice called out, loudly, and she stops and takes a few quick deep breathes.
âRest in peace, assholes.â She mutters before looking towards Leon. He looked concerned and worried, mainly from what he just witnessed of (y/n) going absolutely savage to the zombies and being covered in blood. Itâs like what happened in Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, the sounds of helicopters could be heard, the lights shining through the large windows in the hall.
Later, the clean up crew had entered and load up all the dead zombies off. âThink itâs the T-Virus?â Leon asked Jason as he, Jason and (y/n) stand in a different hallway. âWe wonât know till the lab checks it out. More important question is, how the hell did zombies get in the White House?â Jason asked and Len hums at this while (y/n) had her arms folded across her chest, still looking down at the ground. âAnd whoâs behind it?â Leon asked.
Later, Leon, Patrick and (y/n) began to walk in the main entrance room of the White House when a voice called out to them. âLeon? (Y/n)?â They turn around and saw Claire Redfield. âClaire?â They said, surprised, then walk up to her. âWhatâre you doing here?â (Y/n) asked her. âIâm here with reps from Penamstanâs provisional government. Just trying to get some schools and hospitals built.â She replied.
âPenamstan?â Leon said, confused. âYeah. The U.S. wants a military presence there, so thereâs supposed to be some sort of signing ceremony next week.â Claire replied then she thinks for a moment before speaking again. âIâmâŚhey, actually, could you guys take a look at something?â She asked. âYeah, sure.â Leon and (y/n) said as Claire holds out a file to them and Leon takes it to see it was a childâs drawing, a drawing of what looked like a zombie attack.
âWhatâs this?â Leon asked. âA little boy drew them. Theyâre what the civil war looked like six years ago. Doesnât that look a lot like Raccoon City?â She asked as Leon and (y/n) stare at the drawing before they share a look, silent conversation takes place amongst them. âI canât get anyone to go on record about what happened there. But after seeing those, I mean, itâs gotta be another outbreak.â Claire said as the couple stare at the drawing again.
âLeon, (y/n). Clockâs ticking. Letâs move.â Jason said as he walks past them. This catches Claireâs eyes. âWait. Isnât that the guy everyone calls the hero of Penamstan?â Claire asked. âIn the flesh. Look, we gotta go.â Leon said as he hands the drawing back to her. âDonât do anything stupid.â Leon said as he and (y/n) turn away. âExcuse me.â Claire said, sarcastically, as the duo walk away.
âHey, (y/n).â Claire calls out and (y/n) stops and turns as does Leon. âI-uh, I just wanted to say, Iâm sorry about Jill.â She said, sympathetically, and (y/n)âs eyes lowers to the ground before she looks back at Claire and nods. âThank you.â She said, softly, and her and Leon leave the room.
U.S. Naval Base - Agra Barbor, Guam
âSheâs a modified Virgina-class, with an upgraded ASDS onboard. Weâre going to sneak right in under the East Sea Fleetâs nose, load your team onto the DS, and launch it. Youâll make your rendezvous without them even knowing it. Yes, sir, this little ladyâs outfitted with stealth tech thatâs best-in-class.â The captain rattles on to Jason, Shen May, Leon and (y/n) as they walk on the metal walkway towards a submarine.
Apparently, Wilsonâs crew were able to trace the source of the hacking and it was indeed China. And from the plea of Wilson, Graham approved of Shen, Jason, Leon and (y/n) to go on this mission to sneak in China. Leon and (y/n) stop and stare at the submarine, both of them feeling a bit uneasy at this.
They get inside of the submarine and the couple, Shen and Jason sit in a rest area of the submarine. âOkay, where we at?â Leon asked Jason as he and (y/n) stand and lean against the wall while Shen and Jason sit on a couple of chairs. âAll right. Our mission is to infiltrate the bio-research facility and seize any evidence pertaining to the hacking and the viral terrorist attack at the White House. Iâll brief you further when we get to shore.â Jason said.
âWe could just hack them. Whatâs the point of even going?â (Y/n) asked, skeptical. âSorry, little lady. Thatâs classified for now.â Jason replied and (y/n) scoffs. âDetailâs on the facility?â Leon asked. âFor now, classified.â Jason said and Leon sighs. âTime limit?â Leon asked. âClassified.â Jason said but (y/n) also said it at the same time as him.
âRight. Is there anything you can tell us?â (Y/n) asked, getting annoyed. Shen glares up at (y/n) as Jason stares at (y/n) before he shakes his head. (Y/n) lets out an annoyed growl and Leon places a hand on her shoulder. She looks at him and he shakes his head at her, basically telling her to not to push it.
She lets out a heavy sigh then looks down at the ground. âWell, Iâm going to go check the gear. Get some shut-eye.â Jason said as he gets up and leaves the room, Shen gets up and leaves too. (Y/n) walks over to the table then goes to sit in the chair next to it.Â
âThis is ridiculous.â She grumbles before letting out a sigh and Leon watches her. â(Y/n), we need to talk.â He said and she looks up at him. âIâm worried about you. Youâve been acting a bit reckless lately.â Leon said. âWhat are you talking about?â (Y/n) asked and Leon gives her a look of disbelief. âYouâre really asking that? What about Pittsburgh when you just went crazy on that B.O.W? Or how about back at the White House?â Leon asked, getting a bit annoyed, and (y/n) bites her lips and turns her head away.
â(Y/n)âŚâ Leon mutters, concerned, making (y/n) shut her eyes as if thatâll make the conversation go away. âI know youâre still grieving over JillâŚâ he said. âDonât.â (Y/n) whispers, shakily, as she felt her eyes burning with tears. âAnd I understand it but, sweetheartâŚ.â Leon said and he walks right up to her, reaches his hand out towards her face and caresses her cheek.
She leans into his touch as he continues. âIt shouldnât mean for you to try and get yourself killed.â He said, she opens her eyes and looks up at him. The two share a look before (y/n) signs, grabs his hand, removes it off of her face as she stands up. âI get youâre worried, Leon, but really Iâm fine. I justâŚâ she said then she lets go of his hand and sighs again. âIt wonât happen again. I promise.â She said, looking into his eyes.Â
Leon looks her over, even though he didnât believe her he also didnât want to make this into a full blown argument. Especially when theyâre now at a job. It was Leonâs turn to sigh before he nods, slightly. âOkayâŚ.weâll talk about this later.â He said and (y/n) lowers her head at this. âHeyâŚâ Leon said, softly, and she looks up at him again. âI love you.â He said, sincerely, and she gives him a small smile, feeling her heart swell at this. âI love you too.â She said and he leans down and kisses her, lightly, on her lips.
Minutes later, Leon and (y/n) walk down the hallway when they heard groans and grunts. They stop as they see a bathroom door was open and Jason was inside, doing something with hands but the duo couldnât really see as Jason pants and grunts. (Y/n) moved her head slightly and she couldnât sworn she saw a syringe in his hand before Leon places his arm around her waist and leads her away as they continue to walk down the hallway.
Both of them feeling a bit unsure what to think of this mission and their teammates.
