i was wondering, how much do you think it makes a difference if you go to a top ranked law school? also, i am from canada so do you think going to a top ranked law school in the US would help in canada? i understand if you don't know the answer but I thought I'd ask!

I can really only answer this based on my own experiences, and not having somehow gone to two schools of different ranks I can’t really give a fair answer. I’m glad I went to the school I did, though.

If you wants to practice in the U.S., go right ahead. If you want to practice in Canada, stay in Canada. Our laws and legal system are very different, so it's generally easier to land a job where you have some knowledge of the law. I only know of a handful of U.S. schooled lawyers practicing in Canada.

Also there is price. It is much, much, much less expensive to go to law school in Canada.

As for ranking, because there are so few law schools in Canada, the margin between the top school and the bottom is significantly narrower.
