“Horror? And not the ravioli?! That was my selling point! But anyway, it seems you are an easy man to please. More gore or more psychologically thrilling?”

“I’m a chef, ravioli rarely excites me. An easy man to please, that’s right. Simple pleasures. Ooh, a little from column A and a little from column B- we’re having a marathon right? So I say we don’t limit ourselves to one or the other. My only request is that we watch the third Nightmare on Elm Street at some point, it’s my favorite.”

“It would have been so much easier to just ignore you if you weren’t so goddamn charming. Oh, you do? Does that mean my next drink is on you? Do you ever question why this place was called such? Pony Bar? Doesn’t sound….appealing.”

“Do you think some people don’t actually mean it when they say that? What? I don’t look Raven enough for you, but yes, it is.”

“An odd compliment but I’ll take it. Yeah sure, next one’s on me if it means you’ll stick around. Uh, never thought of it really, got any hypotheses?”

“Oh, please. Is this really an invitation to ‘Netflix and chill’? That’s so unoriginal.”

“Uh, actually I don’t have a Netflix subscription.”

“Well, I just placed an order for heart shaped ravioli’s for next Sunday. They’re even pink. Who wants to come over to eat them with me and watch horror films?”

“You had me at horror”

”How did you manage to break your nose?! Also, is it true that you get two black eyes whenever you break your nose? Luckily I’ve never had the pleasure of breaking anything. Ah, thanks. I’ll be overindulging in all of those things to get me through.”

“Started a fight after the game, got socked pretty hard. Yeah, left a couple of nice bruises, all kinds of different colors.”

“I suppose that even being the piggy bank is better than being nothing at all?” Her tone was equally as lighthearted as the male’s had been and she’d managed to smile to herself as he’d went on. “My boots are, thankfully, keeping me plenty warm so I’d be glad to join. I can tell by the color of James’ boots that he has very good taste, so hopefully that’ll still be true with whatever lunch will be.” The brunette had scrunched her nose as she’d managed a smile first at the younger boy and then at the male. “I’m Stephanie–if you were at all curious.” She’d started, actually glad that he’d been nice enough to invite her to lunch with them. Though this whole charismatic thing wasn’t like her at all, given that she was more often shy than not, Stephanie did enjoy talking to someone for a change.

“Point taken, it was a joint effort in that case.” he agreed with a smirk decorating his face. “Great” he said pleasantly, genuinely pleased to have the invitation accepted. “Right, yeah, well- you already know James” he said with a soft chuckle, manners weren’t necessarily his forte “I’m Lawrence” he introduced himself politely, if a little late.

“I’ve been up since four this morning finishing up four forums for international, and two seven page homework assignments.  I think at this point I have had so much coffee that I’m Wonder Woman and nothing can touch me.”

“Hey, it’s you again. Miss President.”

…Can I help you? I usually don’t let people interrupt my pampering time, but you made it sound like it was important. 

I lied cos I want to use your laptop but oh my god, look at your face. 

Oh! Oof, tell me you didn’t see that. I hate winter. 

Nice landing. You need a hand?

“It’s far too late (and too damn cold) to be out here on your own,” he calls out well aware that his voice shatters the silence as much as can be expected–maybe he should have aimed for a friendlier greeting “I’m heading back to campus–maybe you should accompany me,” and he hesitates, heat flooding his features for but a moment before he quickly adds “Safety in numbers, you know–that sort of thing.”

“Don’t think there anyone out here I can’t beat the shit out of but thanks for the concern.”

“Did anyone survive their first year with their soul intact? Cause I kinda feel…. dead inside and I still have about four years to go. “

“Broke my nose during my first soccer season, other than that I got through pretty successfully. My advice? Booze, drugs, napping, it all helps.”

Although Stephanie knew it was most likely impolite, she couldn’t help but keep her gaze focused on the male and the younger boy as they’d ‘rough-housed’. It was clearly all in good nature and the brunette had even managed a smile to herself at the male’s words. Finding it wasn’t really her place to say a word, she’d only smiled for a second before she’d found a small leeway that gave her time to voice her opinion. “They are very nice boots,” Stephanie spoke softly and gently, even managing a laugh. “I was thinking that maybe I need a pair just like them. I could turn in these boots for a pair like yours and maybe I’d be able to have a bit of fun in the snow, too.”

“Right? That’s what I said.” Lawrence agreed with a chuckle, clapping his younger brother James on the back. “Can’t take any credit for ‘em though cos he picked the color, I was just the piggy bank, right?” he said in a light hearted fashion, a grin on his face as he spoke. “If your boots are keeping you warm enough, you should come and grab some lunch with us. James’ is picking but he has pretty good taste.” he mentioned, she was nice, pretty, charming even and it seemed as if she could use the company.

“Acquaintances. Pickpocketter and victim. I’m still salty. …you’re taking the kid to get a beer? Terrible. Clearly I have to come to supervise.” 

“Or that. That works.”

“Good friends? Is that what we’re saying?” Issa said, tilting an eyebrow up at him before turning to the little boy. “Wow, James, those shoes are the coolest ones I’ve ever seen.”

“I wanna hear it if you’ve got something better.”

“That explains it, I’ve spent enough time working with your president on things.  We’ve probably crossed paths every once and awhile.”  Alaire beamed.  She was a firm believer the Delta’s had to stick together.   Especially when Greek life got competitive.   “James do you want to be a Delta Sig, like your brother?” She questioned.

“Right, right, yeah.” he agreed though he hadn’t been particularly involved with frat activities, not as involved as he should have been at least. James looked up at his brother with a confused face before turning his attention back to Alaire “I want to have an Xbox” the youngster informed her. Law chuckled and clapped his little brother lightly on the back “The Bonsaint family doesn’t have much of a legacy yet, I guess...well, not in college anyway” he said with a shrug of one shoulder.
