Reunited || Miranda - Oriana
Miranda held Oriana close when she started to whimper and stroked her head to calm her down. Relief flooded through her when she got the confirmation that Henry Lawson didnât touch her sister. She would have laughed if Oriana wasnât so torn about all of it.
âShhh, itâs okay Ori. If you did youâd be probably dead now, so Iâm really glad you didnât shoot him. I donât know what Iâd do if I couldnât have saved you. And you have no idea how glad I am that he didnât touch you. You have nothing to be sorry for. I swear you did the right thing. Nothing good would have come out of it if you shot him or tried to. Iâm glad I got to kill him, Iâve waited for that chance for a long time.â
Oriana clung tightly to Miranda, fisting her hands against Mirandaâs back. She buried her face against the older womanâs shoulder to hide her tears, but the way she trembled gave it away anyway. For a long time she was quiet, except for the muffled sounds of her sobs.
She hadnât really cried about it. Not in front of anyone. There had been a few times, curled up in the floor of her shower until the water grew cold and a chill had sunk past her skin and into her bones. It was a while until the tears began to dry up this time as well, and with the drying of her tears came the soft sniffles and coughs to clear her throat. She pulled back just a little so she could breathe, and lifted one hand to try and wipe away the evidence of her tears.
âSorry⌠Iâm okay now.â
