Because I don't want to miss out on any juicy pieces of information I am looking up all the references in the appendix, which is in the third book. This is what happens when the author was a history professor. I am literally studying before reading The Fellowship of the Ring.
I think a lot of people forget the same things happened to Gen X thats happening to everyone else. We got hated on for coming out of the closet by our parents, criticized if we didn't learn cursive (not all of us learned despite popular belief), experienced child neglect because our parents thought they were giving us room to play (there were advertisements to remind our parents to hug us and call us inside when the street lights came on), we were constantly reminded we were failures to launch if we didn't have our own place by 18-20. We were told to grow a thicker skin, to keep trying. We made our own families with close friends. Getting counseling was a very secret and shameful resource to lean on back then. We grew up, learned to ignore the bullies, keep our friends close, and form our own groups. Ignore the bullies, listen to those that don't judge you. Safe guard you heart and your sanity. I feel bad that it is harder to ignore the people who are negative than it was back then. Back then we could go home and take a break and find some peace so we could start another day with a fresh mindset. I think thats what we need again. Remember how to find peace, to limit (not completely close off) people's access to our inner sanctuary, and not isolate ourselves in the process.

Next up someone is going to claim that the Narnia series isn't kids books.
Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.
I agree with this commit. I read the Hobbit when I was 11 the first time. I remember feeling proud that I had finished that book. I am reading it again as an adult. By the way Tolkien and C.S.Lewis (the author of the Narnia series) knew each other and shared many conversations. The following books edited and written by Tolkiens son might be more worthy of the debate of them being young adult books or childrens books.
The cornstalks in my garden keep getting blown down by midsummer winds. Yes, there is a seasonal wind. It comes before the thunderstorms. It comes after thunderstorms. It comes just because in the middle of the summer. My excitement for my garden dropped to disappointment. I am tired of tying lines of twine for these guys to rest on so they won't drop.

This $5 plant made my week. It kept me sane. I don't care that it was clearance, or that I had to spend 20 minutes trimming and pulling the dead bits out. It saved me, and I am grateful.
Just some late night musings… am I the only one!?!? #homemaking #home #c...
So this week I was a super proud mom that my kid cleaned their room. I tried telling another mom. Well it took some time to convince my kid to clean their room. And thats what brought the difference of families into the conversation. This parent doesn't live in a neurodivergent home. Doesn't need to do the whole double body system for cleaning, isn't dealing with excutive dysfunction, or a high level of distraction. It took a whole team to clean that room, each with our supporting and active roles. It's much simpler in their home. The kid is told to clean the room, the room is cleaned. I felt floored. Calling all neurodivergent parents so we can have real conversations about parenting and our lives.

Looking for a friend who loves the Hobbit, classics, and all of the above. Deep meaningful conversations about history, music, art, and gardening. Being an adult can be exhausting if you're wondering why other topics aren't mentioned. A love of nature and fiber art is recommended too.
