i've talked about my thoughts (not positive) on people who are obsessed with watching cop bodycam footage as entertainment. well recently I came across an account of I guess cop bodycam footage related to CPS cases. I remember what it's like to have to explain yourself to cops as a kid. especially when a parent has come up with some elaborate lie. one year on my birthday my biological father told the cops my mom and stepdad were holding me hostage. the fact that a whole squad of cops showed up prepared for a showdown really made me think they are fucking morons. is bare minimum research done? research that tells you this is a man who is pissed off he has to abide by no trespassing orders and restraining orders (and has history of trying to violate them)? anyway the cops questioned my mom and stepdad and we were made aware of new lore he invented about me--I have the "mental age" of a 12 year old. mind you, he completely made this up. I guess his goal was to get me taken into his custody, like he's saving his disabled daughter who has been manipulated by evil mom and stepdad (he argued I can't think for myself). one female detective separated me from my parents to assess my mental state alone. she was the only one to realize he was bullshitting all of this. it's probably the only positive interaction with law enforcement I had in my life. it did make me realize that cops aren't stupid, their negligence is on purpose. a lot of cops just have a camaraderie like epstein & co.
a lot of people who watch cop bodycam footage seem to have a positive view of cops which is odd to me. you could say it's because they're not uploading footage that makes them look bad, but of the footage i've seen, they do still come across as clueless and negligent, especially when interacting with children in distress. i've come across footage online that mirrors my experiences and it always makes me feel sick. a lot of the domestic dispute footage. what is the point in uploading it? if it's entertainment, well, I do judge people who consume it as such. it's like true crime content--these are real peoples lives and experiences that they likely don't want to be reminded of on a random day while on social media. i've considered just not using certain social media platforms to avoid this stuff in particular because it always finds me somehow.
