For Father’s Day, I commissioned an artist that hand embroiders birds to make a little portrait of three killdeer (Male, Female, and chick) and I’m so excited to gift it! Killdeers are my husbands favourite birds because they were the first thing he started noticing when he started to slow down and pay attention to things around him - he started seeing them everywhere on the backroads when he had never noticed them before and they have been a very special thing for him since. Our neighbourhood did an art crawl a few weeks ago, and this artist had a booth of birds she had done and we were oooing and aaahing over them. I decided to reach out the next day and she was amazing! I’m so so excited about this gift!
