So far today my mental health has been awful but I wanted to say something, even if it was only a few words. #WorldMentalHealthDay

This EP is essentially a short story, a short story about my experiences with mental health up until now. It’s been difficult and excruciating and frustrating and lonely, but it started getting better when I started writing about it and talking about it, even if it just meant I wasn’t keeping it tightly sealed inside myself. I’ve worked hard to get myself into a better place but I don’t know if the ground will ever truly settle, if I’ll dig up all the landmines. We all have our struggles, our fears, our ghosts but maybe being honest is the first step, whoever it may be with.

It might be blurry but I love this photo of me and @richardmarcmusic after the @marenmorris show tonight. We had SUCH a good time. We’re constantly listening to her music, whether we’re in a songwriting session or just chilling out and playing Mariokart. So we were two happy beans tonight.

Yesterday the kittens figured out how to UNLOCK the cat flap. Why am I not surprised.

So I spent the afternoon taking part in a research study for the Centre For Research in Autism and Education and apart from washing the gel out of my hair afterwards, it was SO FUN. So often it feels like Autism takes away opportunity but in this case, it adds and it makes me feel like I’m part of something bigger than me.

And after posting so many pictures of other dogs, I feel I must post a photo of my Lucky. He is the sweetest, gentlest dog in the world and I don’t know what I’d do without him. It’s worth noting that yesterday would not have been possible without my noise cancelling headphones. Relentless background noise completely drains me but also makes me that much more likely to have a meltdown. So these @bose headphones have been a lifesaver. Fortunately the dogs at Discover Dogs didn’t seem worried that they’d interfere with our conversations. @thekennelclubuk
