This book is truly an inspiration. If you desire to have an intimate relationship with God, Unwrapping Lazarus will definitely assist you on your journey. The author is very informative and addresses a variety of topics. Like Lazarus, many of us are restricted by our grave clothes and unable to live with the freedom and purpose God has planned for us. I have read the story of Lazarus multiple times but never thought about how the grave clothes apply to our lives. My connection with the story was with miracle Jesus performed and his power. The author spoke about bible knowledge, the purpose of studying the bible and Christian maturity. He mentioned bible knowledge is meant to make us hungry for more of God. Christian maturity is measured in terms of our relationship with God. Christians sometimes do not make that connection. The author shared a story about people he met while travelling to a particular area that faced challenges with reading and studying the scriptures, yet they had a great measure of faith. Their explanation was “The little we know we do.” What a powerful statement. Christians sometimes spend a tremendous amount of time reading, studying, memorizing the scriptures, yet no fruit or intimacy is produced. Knowledge of the bible does not always serve the intended purpose. Inviting God into our lives creates intimacy and allows us to be stripped of the grave clothes that restrict us. Thanks Chosen Books for the opportunity to read such a wonderful book at no cost. “The little we know we do” statement has truly made a difference in my life.
