The Pitt Supernatural AU with Former!Hunter!Dennis and Werewolf!Robby!! (This idea has been stuck in my head for a week now lol)
Robby, who has been bitten by a werewolf like two decades ago. At first, he thought his career would be over but it turns out superhuman strength and endurance is just the thing you need in a job like this. Moving or restraining a patient twice his weight? Not a problem! Working through 27 days a month and only having the three days off around the full moon? Hey, everybody is happy with that arrangement! Not to mention that his heightened sense of smell, once he has gotten used to it, was actually helping him diagnose patients???
I just imagine Werewolf!Robby stopping mid-sentence to sniff the air, before spinning on his heels and yelling out orders because Mr. Phillips in South 16 is about to go into cardiac arrest.
Werewolf!Robby, in the breakroom with Dana, talking to her about her holiday plans with her husband before snapping his head up, breathing a low “Seizure!” and running off to Central 9 before the patient even so much as twitched.
Dr. Langdon about to discharge Mrs. Collins when Robby’s head pops in and demands he runs a Parkinsons test, “But she’s here because of a car accident?”, “Now, Dr. Langdon!” and he would listen because, as infuriating as it is, Robby has always been right so far.
Everybody thinks he’s just a once in the century genius with an insane gut feeling, meanwhile Robby prides himself on how subtle he is and that nobody has caught on yet.
Werewolf!Robby, who acts like a herd dog when it comes to his Pittlings, especially the ones he likes the most (*cough* Dennis *cough*). If he could he would bite the kids neck like a border collie bites ankles to herd his sheep! But for now, he has to quell his urges by just pulling at the smaller guy every chance he gets.
Enter Dennis, who did grow up on a farm in Nebraska, he just didn’t mention that his family hasn’t done any real farmwork since the early 50s and have been hunters ever since grandfather Louis was killed by a banshee. His father has been on a war path ever since, killing every monster on sight and teaching his sons to do the same. Dennis, always more on the softer side, had been questioning the morality of it since day one but only ever voiced them once, the beating he got that day was more than enough of a learning curve for him.
His breaking point was when he had to watch his brothers gleefully torture a little girl to death, who had been turned into a vampire earlier that day and had been pleading for her mommy up until the end. She hadn’t even understood that she was a “monster” now and Dennis returned asking himself who the real monster had been in that scenario.
When he got his acceptance letter for med school (he used a friends address so his dad and brothers wouldn’t find out), he made a secret plan and used his years of experience to wipe all of his tracks before running off.
Former Hunter!Dennis, having experienced life on the road since childhood, survived through homelessness, vampire led shelters, Djinns infiltrating soup kitchens and a very annoying ghost of a former student haunting the university library before starting his ER rotation.
Dennis, who figures Robby out in less than a week and falls into an existential crisis over the fact that he can't possibly kill his boss and the best doctor and mentor he ever met, solely because he's a werewolf but at the same time: There’s a werewolf in the ER!
Dennis, who realises that Robby only uses his heightened senses for sniffing out seizures, low blood sugar, panic attacks and cancer and sometimes helps patients get a diagnosis for stuff they weren’t even in for. In addition, there weren’t any raised death statistics in the area around the full moon so he must have a system in place that kept him from hunting.
Former Hunter!Dennis who, after focusing all his attention on Dr. Robby for the past month, realises he has fallen in love with the werewolf.
Maybe, during this time one or two of his brothers end up in the ER after a hunt gone wrong? Maybe a broken bone that needed professional setting, or a broken rip that now perforated the lung.
Dennis immediately recognising the fake name on the screen as one of his oldest brother’s alter egos and immediately going all protective mode over Robby. Telling him to keep away, kicking him off when he tries to go in the room with him, etc.
Enter shenanigans, misunderstandings, Dennis being a stressed-out mess over trying to tell his brother to fuck off and keep Robby save, while also not exposing himself to either of them.
Bonus points if there’s a rumour going around that the guy is Dennis’s toxic Ex. (Different last names and Dennis looking more like their mother while his brother comes more after their dad, but they’re arguing like they’ve known each other very intimately for a very long time.)
Meanwhile Robby, who has no knowledge of hunters or the danger he’s in, realises he's getting more and more obsessed with Dennis's smell as the weeks go by and starts to lose control around him. He doesn't want to hurt him but he also wants to drag him into his house and wrestle him to the bed until he submits to him and only knows how to moan Robby’s name. The closing full moon only heightens his urges and Dennis running from him, kicking him out of a patient’s room and keeping secrets from him is making everything ten times worse. Not to mention that Dennis and said patient seem to share a past.
Robby can’t stop himself from lingering outside the room, listening to them argue but when he hears how the guy talks to Dennis as if he was worthless, while also demanding him to come back with him? Robby can’t hold back, a low rumbling growl leaves his mouth, immediately silencing the room behind the door, startling the people in there just as much as himself. He fled before Dennis could open the door but he knew that he had to come up with a plan to make the boy his and that fast, so that he could never leave him!
A few hours later, when their shift ended, he asks Dennis to join him on his way and help with some leftover paperwork. It was a completely made-up lie (not even a good one. Paperwork? Really? What year is it lol) but he could always apologize for forgetting the paperwork at the ER and invite Dennis to dinner as apology. He’s just hoping that having Dennis in his house, if only for a few hours, will calm his instincts enough to make it through the next few shifts without doing something he'll regret.
He didn't expect to be caught subtly sniffing Dennis when he held the front door open for him, or that he would end up pinned on the ground a second later with an angrily yelling Whitaker in his lap. Most certainly didn't expect the boy to even have the strength to wrestle him to the floor with ease and yell at him for growling in front of two hunters. What the fuck?
It’s the hottest thing that has ever happened to him and he’s ready to be fucked here and there if it meant the little guy would keep yelling at him and keep him pinned like that. The whine that leaves him in the middle of Whitakers rant (something something about hunting and brothers) made him blush all over and lick his lips in horny embarrassment.
Dennis, who has been confused, stressed out, annoyed, belittled and yelled at by his brother all day, who just snapped and pinned his boss to the floor, was now adding “extremely turned on” to one of his emotions of the day.
“You’re just an old perverted dog, aren’t you? Didn’t even realise what danger you have been in all day and even now you can’t listen to me long enough to understand!” Thrusting his hips down he could feel Robby’s bulge filling in underneath him. The older man nothing but a panting mess on the floor, nodding at every degrading word Dennis spat at him. “You don’t even know what I went through today just to protect your ass! No, you only thought about getting me into your bed, didn’t you?”
Leaning closer to Robby’s ear, Dennis increased the pressure on his attendings wrist, delighted to hear him wince. “Thought you could lure me in here and what? Bend me over and fuck me like the dog you are? Make me beg for your cock? Or maybe you wanted me to put up a fight so that you could overpower me, pin me down and keep me in you lair?”
Robby let out another pathetic whine, thrusting his hips up. This wasn’t how he imagined the night to go but damn did he want it. A cruel laugh brought him back to reality as Dennis sat up, looking down at him and letting his hands pull on the zipper of the blue jacket. “More like a bitch in heat, right Doctor Robinavitch~”
OK where did that last paragraph come from haha. I guess they gonna fuck nasty before dealing with the elephant in the room.
Just Dennis going through the most stressful time of his life and Robby living through a bad holiday Rom-Com.
I need BAMF!Dennis so badly. He’s ready to fight off his whole family to keep Robby save!
Maybe some of the night nurses are actually vampires?
I wanted to add Jack in this as well but I can’t decide hoooow. He keeps reminding me of Gabriel (SPN), so I’d love to make him a Trickster who messes with asshole patients. (Something like trapping them in a dream where they have to watch their own autopsy or other, way more gory stuff xD)
Mel having delt with hunters before who didn’t know what autism was and tried to hurt her sister, so she’s ready to help kick Dennis’s brothers out/scare them off.
Trinity trying to warn Dennis about the nightshift vampires like “Please don’t think I’m crazy”, only to realise Dennis is the opposite of freaked out. She forces him to reveal Robby’s “furry little problem” and from then on won’t stop the Furry jokes around him.
Robby doesn’t know what a hunter is because the few he had unknowingly treated all uphold the rule of “Do not kill what saved your life” and therefore never caused him any trouble.
