Psalms 63:6-8

On my bed I remember you;

I think of you through the watches of the night.

Because you are my help,

I sing in the shadow of your wings.

I cling to you;

your right hand upholds me.

“Lord, my soul finds rest in You alone, not in circumstances changing, not in problems solving, but in Your presence regardless of what surrounds me.

I've searched for rest in so many places, achievements, relationships, comfort, control, but none of them satisfy the deep restlessness within like You do.

Teach me the difference between physical rest and soul rest, between temporary relief and the deep peace that comes from anchoring myself in You.

My soul was made for You, and it's restless until it finds its rest in Your presence, in Your character, in the security of being held by You.

Help me stop striving for rest through managing my life perfectly and instead find it by surrendering to You, letting go of what I'm clutching, releasing what exhausts me.

Remind me that resting in You doesn't mean passivity but trust, not giving up but giving over, not quitting but quieting my soul in Your presence.

Give me the wisdom to return to You when I'm weary, to run to You when I'm anxious, to settle into You when everything feels chaotic and uncertain.

Let my soul find its rest in You alone today, not dependent on outcomes or circumstances but anchored in the unchanging God who is my true refuge and peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.”
