Dead Chemists' final shows.
Long-time readers and friends will know that I have a good personal relationship with the hard-working young man behind Dead Chemists, and they have provided me with some awesome nights out.
I will make it to these, I am certain.
Bongripper @ The Exchange, 25/4/2013
.Audience Size - few hundred. Unsure. I have no idea what room cap was.
Shirts I saw: Down, Svalbard, Eyehategod, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Sleep, Saviours, Merciless Precision, Gets Worse, plus a couple of illegible metal bands.
This being my very first trip to the Exchange, which is the newest venue in Bristol (and becoming the replacement for the soon-to-demise Croft), I was excited as much as anything to step inside and take a look at the space. First impression was that I could tell it used to be a club, and still had a bit of that feel to it - the main entrance went three or four ways, including a big metal staircase, and was all corners and nooks. I only saw the bar area (which I can imagine feeling very small on a busy night) and what I assume is the main stage room, on the ground floor. This did the whole 'black cube' kind of space quite well, leaving a small dark kind of corridor where some merch tables were installed. This night wasn't full (or didn't quite feel it), but I can imagine The Exchange feeling very full when it is.
Why I won't start another band.
It is with some trepidation that I write this, given that it is a fairly new idea to me, and I’m not quite sure what the solution is yet. To this date I have been involved directly in three or four attempts at making a band, two of which have gone on to play live gigs, and only one of which had any kind of potential, before the situation imploded and, as I gather is common, we all ended up hating each other. I’ve never played more than 2 gigs with a band, never recorded a song; I cannot play any instruments (despite trying), I can’t sing, I am not a musician and I am comfortable with that.
Now where, in a subculture seemingly based around bands and music (such as punk), does that leave me?

Musicians and music fans, please take a look at this site!
It's only just starting up but I think has quite some potential as a resource once things get going.

Fuck this
Hi Guys
I’m sure you haven’t noticed, but I’m hardly writing any reviews any more, and having a personal blog as a secondary is a pain in the ass, so I made a whole new account. Follow that. Or don’t.
Before the rumours start, I want to nip it in the bud so there are no questions later; I am no longer a part of Brutality Will Prevail. When I put this band together, it was never meant to be a full time band and something to try make a living from. For me, we were always a hardcore band, working hard and doing everything on our terms to open opportunities, we’ve been able to travel, enjoyed a lot of support and I feel we’ve had a lot to be grateful for. This was never meant to be a job, it was just 5 friends having a laugh, and that was alright with me. I thought we did that well. In recent months this has changed a lot, mistakes have been made and things changed from being 5 friends in a hardcore band having some fun, to becoming a money making scam and exploiting the kind support we’ve received to date as a stepping stone to “bigger” things. The opportunity to travel is always cool, but I am not comfortable with using the hardcore scene, and use the band for a holiday. for me i care about the band to much to just abuse it, i have a good life in South Wales/job/house.Why would i give that up, go back on every thing iv said and sang about just to be a”rockstar”for 5minites.
I really thought i had 4 good friends, but time has shown that we are not the friends I thought we were. So there it is, if you see the farse that now is BWP in 2013 it will be with out me, and I wash my hands of it. I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me during my time in the band, it is much appreciated more than I can ever say,Ill still be doing purgatory records, and hope to see you all soon with some new projects.
Been away from my own tumblr feed for too long to catch up on posts (10 days, gosh), so I’m just going to post this picture of myself and go to sleep.
Follow ^ that rather than this.

Inspiration.
Aspiration.
Got tickets to this last night. Who’s going? #BirdsInRow #Bastions #Vales #Gnarwolves #TheColdHarbour #Bristol
I can't go to this gig because of work. You however, should.
Return of me to tumblr.
Hey music fans, guess you didn't notice there, but until yesterday, it had been ages since I wrote anything on here. There are a few reasons, including starting back at uni and seeing a doctor for depression, but I think I should be back now. Also, I've literally just 10 minutes ago started myself a personal blog, so if you're only following me not to hurt my feelings, then get on that so you can delete this shit from your feed. Thank you and goodnight.
Lucero @ The Fleece, 27/11/2012
