what i really appreciate about naomi misora is how quiet and mundane her self-hatred is. she's never loud about it, she isn't actively throwing herself off a cliff in self-destruction or screaming about how much she can't stand herself-- but you can feel the influence of it in every interaction we see her have with the men in her life. it's the reserved acceptance of her place as raye straight up atticwifes her; the stifled questions and desperation to prove her capabilities in the face of beyond's easy genius; the lack of a fight as she follow's L's baffling orders; the softness to light, in spite of her own caution, as he gently guides her to her death.

i like to think that Beyond Birthday's extremely exaggerated imitation of L's habits was actually completely accurate to how L acted in the past, and BB was just basing his act off of a younger, more unhinged L, which was lost when L got older or something.

So many of the things people point out about Zeke's "coping mechanisms" or "just how he is" come across super ND to me. Zeke's ear scratching is a legitimate stim irl for a lot of people. Smoking could also be considered self-stimulatory as well. He uses his interest in baseball as a way to bond with Colt, as well as giving Eren his mit. Also, his conversation with Armin shows so much disconnect and lack of understanding the people around him.
