I can’t believe it’s now Day 300 since I started living in the Aloha State; almost a year! Time sure has passed by very fast, for it seems like only a few months since I moved here. As I soon approach one full year since my move, I have begun to explore other hobbies, even take on modeling. Still meeting many nice people and establishing bonds. I even made a trip back to my home-state recently, which was much needed. It was great to see everyone whom I was able to see in a short amount of time. Nonetheless, I’m still happy where I’m at and very excited where I’ll go from here. As I mentioned in my last post, EDC was one of the best experiences of my life. Never anticipated how much of an impact it would have on me, even weeks after the event has ended. Not only did my group make it more special, but so did other people I met along the way. For those who know me personally, I am one to want to hear about other people’s stories and where they come from, or in this case, what brought them to EDC. It’s uplifting to meet others from all over the country and the world who still believe in PLUR and continue to spread that set of principles. All I can say is I definitely made new friends and I can’t wait to see them again, nor can I wait to make more friends and meet more people next time. LATE POST - 05/17-19/19: If you asked me eight years ago if I would ever be interested in going to a rave, let alone EDC, I would’ve said you’re barking up the wrong tree. After years of developing my own conclusions on raves and similar events based on stories from people, I refused to attend such occasions, thus developing a fear of raves. I allowed that fear to restrain me from stepping out of my comfort zone and venturing out. Fast forward to late 2018, I began to step out of the shadows and into the crowd by attending places and occasions I never thought I’d ever go to. After a couple small raves, I then made the decision to aim for EDC. This year, my intention came to fruition and all I can say is... I CANNOT believe I prohibited myself from experiencing this magical event for so long. To attend this EDM festival definitely felt like what THOUSANDS have now dubbed this place: HOME. I felt free to express myself and to not be judged for it. The vibes I received from the people were tremendously impacting. I finally discovered the meaning of PLUR: I don’t even know what else to talk about: the DJ’s, the music, the lights, the fireworks or the love I felt all over the venue; all just incredible to absorb. Day 200 since I’ve made my big move to the rock and yet, it feels like it hasn’t been as long. I’m still experiencing more each day about my new life. Still meeting new people and making new friends.
