C-X Lore Updates and some dumb doodles I did on another whiteboard
I'M BACK ON MY BULLSHIIIIIT
Can we agree that since I've posted at least one canon character artwork and yap sesh that I get to return to my ocslop... please?
I think I've finally gotten an idea down for a more concrete origin story of C-X that fits what I envisioned in her while also being more grounded in Mewgenics canon. Maybe I'll finalize it a little more once I finally get to watch the Terminator movies (I plan to do so after I move!!), but for now here's some updates.
The most major one being that she actually originates from The Future.
She was created by the robo-Nazis of the Future, made specifically to neutralize other robots of her class, C-Models specifically. For this purpose she was given access to an arsenal of weapons beyond what even they could wield, and a syringe device that can let her remotely control any machines she comes across.
Her creation borrowed traits from the C-800 and the C-1000, both regarded as "parent" models to her. And maybe they were literally parents to her, too... who knows what went on between the time she was made and the time she came to the past?
Some robots of Däs Future evidently are allowed more emotional expression than others. Clearly Dr. Mangler is one of them, given the frustrated anger he felt upon seeing his creation die... or perhaps even that response was programmed? Either way, for a reason one could only chalk up to as clinical error, the C-X retained more awareness and sentience than her predecessors.
Headcanon and think up what you will of their capacity to develop such a thing, but C-X had all of it from the start. An awareness stronger than most of her situation, and the capacity to question things. For her own survival she of course couldn't openly express or even hint at her own feelings...
But slowly she began to process the extent of her situation, and the realizations that dawned on her were staggering.
They changed her relationship with Däs Future beyond repair. And after both units that were sent out failed to return, she saw her first chance to finally escape the skyborne prison. With her suddenly losing her connection to Däs Future, there was only one option left for the enfuriated Führer...
And that's the major lore update!
C-X is a sort of inversion of the typical "robots who turn against their masters trope". Not in the sense of the trope itself being inverted, but in the sense that its target is. Because from what I've seen, this is most commonly applied to humans, especially in her technical inspiration's source material, which. Nonono. C-X hates everything that contributed to her creation. Humans of course are not exempt. But she really has it out for other robots the most. Especially the C-Models. ESPECIALLY her fathers.
What a Frankenstein's monster she is, huh? Except alot tinier. And conventionally prettier. In... more ways than one. Hold onnnnn now. Small frame, thin frame, a thin coat that looks smooth and featureless... blue eyes? Hrmm, where have we seen THIS before? Making one of the Nazi robots a character portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, an Austrian-American, was a choice. It was a choice, Edmund. And I'm damn proud of it. And I'll admit accidentally making C-X a mirror of ideal feminity to C-800's reference-driven idealized masculinity wasn't a conscious choice but DAMN it I will still gas myself up for that!
Anyways enough of my ridiculous talking. I'm going to drop some more whiteboard doodles of her. Here!

And that's all for now! Thanks for the awesome whiteboard Rummy!!
