Aspiring Polyglot

Hi there! My name is Phi, I’m from the UK and I’m currently studying a Linguistics and Languages degree. My dream is to become a Speech Therapist (also an author, translator and language teacher on the side - I have a lot of dreams, and most of them are about words!) ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚

why have I made this blog?

Since I am a distance-learning student, it can sometimes be difficult to find the motivation to study so I really hope this blog will hold me accountable and keep me productive.

I also really admire the studyblr & langblr communities and hope to make some friends who are similarly passionate about all things languages! ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚

I’m so excited to learn Catalan but, given its similarities with Spanish, I don’t want to confuse myself. So I intend to start learning it when I have finished my degree in May 2027!

❀ A slower, but still lovely day today... with a little progress on finding somewhere to live in Germany!

❀ Had a call with a lovely woman in Germany about accomodation, we spoke half in German and half in English

TUESDAY 14TH JULY 2026

❀ Unusually for me, I spent almost the full day in the sun (with proper SPF, hydration, coverage and sufficient breaks in the shade ofc!) and it was lovely!

Hobbies:

❀ Worked more on my filet crochet top

❀ Read 98 pg. of Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy [FINISHED] (it was a really well-written book but the ending annoyed me)

❀ Read 20 pg. of The Honey Witch by Sydney J. Shields (it has been a long-standing joke in my book club as the worst book they've read but I hadn't joined at that point so I have been leant a copy in order to feel their pain hahaha)

Activity:

❀ Went for a walk with my best friends and then to book club (I think I did about 10km)

❀ Did some stretches

Study:

❀ Did this very basic German speaking practice to work on my pronunciation

MONDAY 6TH JULY 2026

❀ A very tense start to day with England VS Mexico but worth watching because what a game!
