His tapping ceased as the young man and he spoke and Colin was surprised that a simple conversation would relieve him of many of his worries… He assumed that it was simply because his mind was no longer processing any thoughts of that of his father, and in turn, his death.
"Kind." he repeated, watching the man. "I’m not surprised, you’re one of the rare few here that doesn’t demand sex or fighting the moment you meet somebody." Colin said, with a shrug of his shoulders and a small laugh. "Really?" Listening as he spoke, Colin couldn’t help but grin "Way to put yourself down." He joked, nodding, "Don’t worry, I understand, it was just a simple slip of the tongue." Colin couldn’t deny that the man talked a lot, but it was refreshing from the usual moody and or needy teenagers he’d previously encountered. "I’m glad, I can’t do anything for the smell, and I refuse to get any form of a fake tan or foundation to remedy my issue with the skin."
Landon understood the need for conversation to drown out everything else. It was exactly the thing he was doing now but he guarenteed both he and Colin were doing it for a different deeper meaning. Not that he minded, of course. Any conversation was a good one at the moment. And this one seemed to be on the right track.
Biting his lip to keep himself from laughing slightly, Landon said, "Was raised a bit differently to some of the folk here, I suppose." He gestured to Colin. "You seem to be one the rare few too." Pointing at himself, he retorted with a grin, "What can I say? Self-deprecation always seems to be right way to go. Besides, it's kind of true." Landon shrugged a little bit before frowning teasingly. "The smell? What do you mean, the smell? Are you talking about the awesome deodorant that's radiating off you?" He leaned forward towards Colin as if inspecting his skin close up before pulling back and returning to his seat. "Nah, sorry dude, I'm afraid you wouldn't need it anyway. Your skin is better than mine, and I have Shadowhunter genes in me." This was the best way Landon knew to cheer someone up, and he knew that Colin needed something like that.
