Colin's incessant rambling was finally coming to an end as he stared into those deep, dark, beautiful eyes. He could see the confusion however, the misunderstanding of his situation, how lost she was in terms of his scenario and he felt a tug of discomfort at his inability to seemingly express his thoughts. At least his body had ceased his tears for now.
Her hands cupped his face and he stared, his sense of dread, paranoia and anxiety was slowly slipping away, and his tense body slowly began to lax within her hold. He felt so much like kissing her lips... To pretend as if she hadn't found him like this, torn, confused and anxious by the haunting visages that seemed to loom about whenever he was alone. But he knew that would be too cruel. Too cruel to leave Cassidy wondering what had left him in this state and so he knew he needed to talk and explain.
What man... Grimacing lightly, Colin tugged his gaze away so as to focus on her question - removing any trace of distracting thoughts from his mind. After a lengthy silence, he spoke, his voice low as he told his story;
"I-It was just before I turned, Cass... I was a traveler, b-by my father's side." He bit his lip as he mentioned his only relative who had been there for him. "We were running. Hiding. I- I don't know from whom or what, but we had to, you... You know?" He listened to himself, why couldn't he just get to the point. Why couldn't he just explain it all, or better yet, make it all go away. "W-We finally found a home... A home at a friends. He was a nice man, he used to treat me so well, with gifts and all." Colin recalled "But he was evil, Cassidy. He was fucking evil." Colin spat, venom dripping from his voice, as he slowly sat up and turned his attention to Cassidy. "Sometimes... I'd forget the whole time that my father was gone. Just like that, my memory was wiped away. I never understood why. That was until my Father found me..."
Colin paused, shaking his head with a sigh, "He found me with the man at my neck, feeding from me, Cass." He said, his eyes falling to the floor "A-and he was furious. My father tackled the man, drawing a blade from his boot and stabbed him so many times." Colin's eyes widened as he could almost envision the scene "So. Many. Times. Just like that. I-I thought I was safe, but... He simply grabbed my father and threw him to the floor... My father told me to run. Leave. Flee and never turn back... If only I hadn't listened. If only I stayed, I may have saved my father." He felt the warmness behind his eyes that revealed the approach of his tears "I-I ran. Hid away in the kitchen, slammed the door shut and pushed the table against the door... I could hear the fighting inside. By the time I gained my courage... It was too late. I opened the door and there was my father and the man. Dead." He let out a dry, airy laugh "Dead. Just like that... The one man we trusted had ended my father's life..." he trailed off, tears falling from his face.
