Would you say to shippers of a straight pair to “go watch The Notebook”? Not to mention there’s a lot more options for them and they could likely find about 50 other Dark Fantasy genred anime with a straight pair at the click of a button whereas I’d struggle to come up with one with a gay one and even if I could, I couldn’t gurantee the same people who ship Mikayuu would even like the dynamic… so this is really punching down, not up.
