š- Abel wasn't the best at giving comfort. Even with his unassuming mask, deep down, he just wasn't the cuddly guy. That didn't mean he wouldn't sit there to let someone cry on him if needed. Hell, he wouldn't say a word about it. He wouldn't tease, mock, or tell a soul about it. This was just his odd way of giving back to the gang that took him in. - to whoever you can think of lol a good mind worker
āHey, are you alright?ā Abel asked as he watched Felix pace around the room.
āHuh?ā Felix snapped his head towards the other, before averting his gaze quickly. He ran a hand through his hair and let out a heavy sigh. āYeah⦠yeah, Iām fine.ā
It had been a hard night for the both of them. One of those days where they wanted to collapse in bed and sleep for a week afterwards. Except, they couldnāt do that. Or, at least, Felix couldnāt. Not when Maseru got horribly injured on this mission.
They were all safe now; they managed to get back to base and find some potions that could help heal Maseru slowly. Still, Felix couldnāt relax. It was his fault that Maseru got hurt like that. He shouldāve been more careful, protected the other better. And yet, he didnāt.
āFuck, itās all my faultā¦ā Felix let out a shaky sigh as he covered his face with his hands. Something worse couldāve happened tonight, and he wouldnāt have been smart enough to stop it. āStupid⦠so fucking stupidā¦ā
Abelās eyes widened slightly as he saw how weak Felix looked. The man truly did care about each other the teamās wellbeing, so much so that it ate him up inside. Abel didnāt know what to do, besides walking up to Felix and putting a hand on his shoulder. āItās not your fault, Felix. You did your best.ā He tensed more as he heard a quiet sob. āFelixā¦?ā
āIt shouldāve been meā¦ā Felix raised his head up, revealing his teary eyes and quivering lip. āI donāt know what I was doing and now Maseru is justāā His voice breaks as he sobs more. Oleander wasnāt here to comfort him, so he clung onto Abel suddenly. He wasnāt sure what else to do.
āOh, alrightāā Abel awkwardly wrapped his arms around Felix. He never was one for physical comfort⦠or comfort at all, really.
āIām sorry⦠Iām so fucking sorryā¦ā Felix couldnāt stop his tears, constantly muttering his apologies.
Abel stayed silent. He held Felix and let him break down his emotions. It was odd, really. Out of all the pain he had seen and inflicted, he found that he didnāt get joy from this. Felix really did care deeply for his teamā no, his family.
Felix really did find a way to always keep Abel on his toes.
