Happy late Halloween!!

My gift to you all is a little Collector redesign I made :3 this design wasn’t created to be “better” than the current collector, just to be my own silly spin on it. I am a sucker for sharp shapes

Originally the colors were more cool but after messing with warmer colors I decided I like them better. That won’t stop me from using cooler palettes in the future though!!

10. pearl diver - obviously a reference to the emily dickinson poem “her breast was fit for pearls/ but i was not a diver”

9. class of 2013 - this is sort of just living under capitalism but the desperate need for ur mothers love and approval while simultaneously knowing that requires the sacrifice of ur happiness which already seems so unattainable applies not only to being asian american in the music industry but also to being gay

8. townie - mostly about surrendering urself to boys who don’t care about u in an attempt to feel anything, but feeling trapped and yearning and horny? thats gay. also “i am not gonna be what my daddy wants me to be/ i wanna be what my body wants me to be”

7. francis forever - gender ambiguous and too good of a pining love song to be straight. seasonal depression is gay culture. also every time i listen to this it feels like my heart is breaking lol

6. nobody - QUINTESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF GAY LONELINESS

4. geyser - i know this is also about like. music. but all violent nature metaphors are inherently gay so. 

3. pink in the night - again, too good of a pining love song 2 be straight

2. a loving feeling - this is the “we’re both heavily closeted & in a relationship only i’m in love & you’re here for a good time” anthem. see: “holding hands under the table” and “you only love me when we’re all alone”

1. come into the water - not only the most lesbian song out of mitski’s discography but also maybe out of all music ever. i cant even adequately explain why this song is so gay but mostly its the stuff about not wanting 2 make the first move and fear of rejection, explicitly bc ur afraid ur being predatory/selfish in your desire for other women- “maybe i’m the same as all those men/ writing songs of all they’re dreaming.”
