So I've been in a total cosplay slump recently. No motivation to work on costumes and no inspiration. The many toxic drama happening in my local community isn't helping either, and a few of my close cosplay friends have stopped cosplaying entirely, so going to conventions is just really dull. How do I get that spark back...? So many planned costumes and materials already purchased. Sigh...

How to make a Labrys Axe (from Persona 4 Arena)
Somebody asked how I made my axe recently, and I thought I would share how I made mine with everyone through the use of a picture guide!
Hope it’ll be useful to fellow crafters out there! (I still consider myself an amateur though, and coupled with the fact I didn’t do any research on how it could be done beforehand, there’s probably lots more to improve on how I made this.)
Complete list of materials used: Foam board, Styrofoam, Gum paper, EVA foam, PVC pipes, screws, industrial cable, wood glue, hot glue gun, spray paint, silicone sealant

Hey Was wondering how yo made the Sphairai, was looking at doing this for my Monk Costume but wasn't sure were to start or what materials to use
Hi! Yay for more FFXIV cosplayers! My Sphairai has foam board as a base and I stuck in the handle with wood glue, then I covered it with a layer of gum paper. After that, I layered craft foam and EVA foam over the surface for depth. The detailings were done with Superdough, a type of jumping clay which is light weight and can be air dried. Gems were resin casted. I then primed the entire prop with white glue before spray painting the gold paint and dry brushing on the black paint. Actually it's kind of hard to explain it with just words so let me post up some progress photos haha.

Persona 4 Arena: Labrys So it's been nearly 2 years since I've posted anything here, and I thought I ought to revive it hooray! Have renamed it to suit my cosplay and crafting purposes as well as my attempts at photography. To celebrate this page's revival, here's a picture of my favourite cosplay to date, out of all my costumes. It took me 2 months for this entire costume: 1 month for the costume itself, 1 month for the axe. It was my first attempt at armor making as well btw! The photos are taken by Razrig Photography (https://www.facebook.com/razrigphotography) during STGCC 2013 and I really liked how it showed off my full costume + axe in the first one, and how I could see my makeup and gauntlets better in the second! <3
