Two geraniums have pulled through!

Cannot for the life of me tell if this volunteer tree that I ripped out (and broke and am trying to essentially graft back together) is a white or red mulberry. Guides say the leaves should be like sand paper and not smooth, but they’re somewhere in the middle. I see white mulberries online that look like these leaves. They’re not high gloss, but they’re not completely dull. But the wood on white mulberries seems very yellow and this is more brown. I don’t know! Halp!

I believe these are northern catalpa because of their bloom size and flower density? I actually found a pod still clinging from last year and got some seeds!

We are still playing the “is it a cucumber or a cantaloupe?” game! Can you tell?

The brilliant thing is, my one garden pretty much completely failed during the winter. None of the perennials made it through. I was bemoaning this now weed patch when I realized I have an entire garden waiting right here. So thank you, farmer’s market seed mix packet distributor. I may not agree with the method, but I can’t argue with the results.

I didn’t realize there was a bird’s nest in here until I saw the photo! I was out on a walk and took a quick pic of the sunlight through the leaves.
