Let's Write!

When adjusting my essay for the Final Interview Reflection, I want to write more about Question 4, where I talk about a situation where I worked creatively within a writing genre for a project. I would like to add more about how I can use what I learned in class in the future when posting. Specifically, I love the app, "Pinterest," and I would like to build a platform where I could potentially become an influencer and inspire others. I could build my own content strategy, based on the knowledge I learned in class.

I love learning. I try to learn a new thing every day in life, and I want to continue to learn even after college. For this web writing class specifically, I liked learning about content strategy and how every creator online has a different strategy for posting. Before this class, I thought people just posted on social media and randomly became famous, but now I understand they have a set plan with goals and a purpose. This was super interesting and makes me feel as if I could work to become an influencer online, perhaps.

With my writing process, I am most proud of my ability to establish outlines and convert my outline brainstorm into structured paragraphs to write my papers. I think I have practiced building outlines since middle school, so I have almost perfected the craft to work best for me. My outlines make me feel proud because it helps me and makes me feel happier and more confident about my work.

Above is a screenshot of my Content Analysis paper in the Conclusions section. I wanted to answer the heading question of why this research is important for content strategy and MLB teams in general. Does my paragraph answer that question? Should I provide deeper answers? I tried to make sure the paragraph was broad and applied to the real-world, but did I go too broad? How can I make this better?

Without any context, would this be an interesting title that would entice you to want to continue to read? My project focuses on analyzing three MLB teams and seeing what type of content receives the most engagement from fans. Does this title relate to that? Do you like it? How would you change it for the better?

While completing this Content Analysis assignment, I realized how helpful creating an outline is to me. I knew I liked to make outlines because it helps me not get overwhelmed, but this project made me realize how helpful it is to break down a huge project that spans over multiple weeks. Also, with this project, I practiced using headings. I have never used those in a final paper before, but I think it was very helpful to stay organized.

Having an established and good revision process will not only help me succeed in this project, but it will also help in other academics AND regular life situations. I love learning from others, so I want and constantly ask for constructive criticism. It could be asking their opinion on what I could have done better in a certain social situation, or it could just be asking for them to review my answers on a math packet. Listening to others and taking advice from them is a great way to revise your own perspective and work. However, it is important to have your own opinion and thoughts too, and not let others completely control yours. Just like revising a paper, do not steal ideas. I will listen to other ideas and morph them, and apply parts to how they can help my paper or that situation.

First, I need to identify my argument. For this study, my argument is my hypothesis that MLB teams post content focusing on their players the most and those content posts receive the most attention. I plan to develop a style where I discuss each of the 3 MLB teams separately. I will look at each of their content and engagement levels and develop what I believe their content strategy is. For my study, there is no reason to compare numerical data between the three MLB accounts, so there will be little comparison between the three.
