Why “he/him, they/them lesbians” are offensive/harmful terms:

Lesbians are girls who are only attracted to girls, whether they are cis or trans

“He/him lesbian” invalidates a trans male’s male identity by implying that they are “still female” with the lesbian term

They are not, they are straight males

“He/him lesbian” invalidates a trans female’s identity as a female because it implies that they are “still men” with the “he/him”

They are not, they are females who like girls and therefore lesbian

Calling nonbinary people “they/them lesbians” is contradictory because lesbians are female, they don’t identify as such and the term implies they are “still female,” therefore invalidating their nonbinary identity

See how bad it sounds put into words? Do not use these terms and offend/invalidate people. Their pronouns are valid and should be respected
