Her hands were small when she held onto her mother.  Gyda was always small, but she would never quite realize her size unless she was in the comforting arms of her parents.  Safe and warm and without a worry or care, she treasured these tender moments—and the moments she had hoped would come. Gyda had hoped there would be many of them, if the gods were good and just and kind.  And they were.  She liked to believe that they were.

She was quiet as she shared the tender moment with her daughter, she'd hold true to her words. She would live by them, and always make sure there was no doubt in the minds of her children that they were loved, and protected above all others. 

Oh, he has a great history of enjoying people’s company and that of everybody’s husbands. [chcukles and shrugs] I only said it because I surely would have ruined the delighted conversation with him. Whenever we met he goes all grumpy and I say inappropriate things to her just to see how he reacts. But he seems rather calm lately… [humms]

I see, and here I thought I had reason to worry about his fondness of my husband.
