Read @sky-kiss' excellent fic Do Not Go Gentle and was inspired. This is decidedly much sillier, but hopefully I have maintained the proper Sad Dad™ Vibes.

My friend recommended this small card photo frame to me before, so I took a picture to go with it. Today it arrived and I put them together... ohhh😭

Verso held Gustave steady with both hands, studying the light in the room as he slowly shifted him left and right, searching for the perfect angle.

"There. Right there." He repositioned Gustave's arm, then gave him a light, brief hold — a silent signal to stay still.

Through the window, the light fell exactly across their lashes.

"Perfect." Verso's breath, warm and soft, brushed over Gustave's eyelids. Gustave looked up — his own lashes nearly grazing Verso's full lips.

Their eyes met — those gray-blue ones. Gustave searched them for something beyond tenderness and appreciation. He couldn't tell if he found it.

Verso held his gaze for a moment, then, noticing Gustave's lips part, asked if the pose was uncomfortable.

Gustave's mouth opened. "No." Damn. That's not what he wanted to say.

A quiet laugh from Verso. "Then stay like that. I'll be quick — alright?" He let go. Something left Gustave's body along with those hands.
