Hello! Murderbot positivity for you! What do you think the drones look like? :)
I imagine them as tiny capsules, maybe the size of a blueberry. Very swallowable.

james ortiz says he decided to characterize rocky as really anxious and neurotic and the directors said that’s a big part of why they chose him. ryan gosling decided to play grace as scared and avoidant towards everything (alien ship, alien message, working on the task force, talking to stratt at all).
taking these (fairly) calm and cool book characters and making them extremely nervous is one of the things that really makes the relationship & entire movie work. and the fact that both actors decided to do this independently before ever meeting is very funny to me.
This really hammers home something I've been saying about Andy Weir's writing. He does a lot of things well and emotions are not among them. Some of the most emotionally hard hitting moments in the movie are practically footnotes in the book. I say this even with the knowledge that, yes, Grace does cry a ton in the book, too.
Characters might express emotions, but they aren't really conveyed to the reader. I think that is part of why his books have done so well as movies: there, he has a whole team of cast and crew and production to insert the missing humanity that his writing lacks.
To be clear, I enjoyed the book a lot, but this is the main flaw of Weir's writing, in my estimation.
Life is all about enticing larger women to lay eggs in you
100%!!!
as a former egg, I am CONSTANTLY trying to get laid by larger women.

“People don’t understand the word ruthless. They think it means ‘mean.’ It’s not about being mean. It’s about seeing the bright, clear line that leads from A to B. The line that goes from motive to means. Beginning to end. It’s about seeing that bright, clear line and not caring about anything but the beautiful fact that you can see the solution. Not caring about anything else but the perfection of it.”

“Do dishes” and “take out trash” both require the use of a spell slot, vs “use phone” is a cantrip, and brother, I am a level one wizard
The best reddit thread I’ve ever seen was when someone asked if the gang from Always Sunny in Philadelphia could kill Darth Maul and almost all of the responses were over 4 paragraphs long
Best quote from that thread: “To give the gang a slight advantage, We’ll assume that Darth Maul has not seen any of the films in the Home Alone franchise.”

Big fan of calling male characters babygirls but I think we should start calling female characters babyboys too
I’ve seen people on here rail separately against calling male characters babygirls and calling female characters little guys, and while I think they’ve correctly identified a problem (“girl” has sexual or demeaning or childish connotations while “guy” is an example of masculine-as-neutral-default) I don’t think the answer is to get more essentialist in our language use but rather to freak it up more. he’s just a little gal. she’s my sweet baby boy. she’s my boyfriend. he’s my special girlie. she’s my beautiful husband.

Murderbot is a passenger princess

Sometimes it’s so hard being a fan of Illyana Rasputin because I think she’s a really fascinating character and also in my heart I know she’s a lesbian and her backstory to me reads heavily as an allegory for CSA and then comic book artists will draw her in the most male-gazey-skintight-leather-titty-window-thigh-gap way with zero consideration for that
THIS EXACTLY!
There is a fine line between her owning her sexuality and being objectified and a lot of art of her is miles past that line.
Being a comics fan and seeing how characters are adapted in film and television

quirky fourth wall breaking character but theyre just fucking. wrong about the medium theyre in. they keep making references to cinematic techniques and directorial styles and the other fourth wall breaking character is like "dumbass we're in a fucking comic book" and they are in a video game.
Well currently they’re in a tumblr post but I see your point
we're actually in a youtube video if this turns out to be funny enough
I think it is so funny that the blurb of Platform Decay has Murderbot making a point to imply that it doesn't like kids.
Meanwhile Murderbot's actual interactions with children throughout the books:
(Not pictured is Sofi spamming her best friend Secunit with heart emojis or it carrying Tula around because she feels safe with it or Amena calling it Mom)
You are good with kids!! You are a person who likes kids!!! Would it kill you to say it? There's no shame in saying it.
