Useless Genius

The audience were made aware that John Davidson had Tourette’s in advance, the film I, Swear is about his life. People with Tourette’s have no control over their language, it is a disability.

Unfortunately a racial slur was shouted when Delroy Lindo and Michael B Jordan were on stage. The slur yelled is undoubtedly offensive, however the BBC are apologising on behalf of the audience member for their disability and all the rest of the media are having a great time piling on about it because they get to share a video with a slur in it.

Actor Jamie Foxx has gone so far as to claim John Davidson ‘meant that shit.’ Something the media are delighted to report on in a way that definitely doesn’t (ha ha) cause additional harm.

Now the BBC could have edited it out, but they didn’t. What they did edit out however was when Akinola Davies said ‘Free Palestine’.

The racial slur used is disgusting, the man who used it has a specific disability which impacts his speech and makes him say abhorrent things.

The situation is awful. The BBC, selectively editing to cause wider outrage and create ‘sides’ in what is already a horrible situation is grim.

Yelling slurs at Black People should’ve gotten his ass tossed the fuck out.

He would've and probably has laughed at the misfortune and death of anyone he doesn't consider worthy of basic human rights.
