These three female characters means so much to me.

Their friendship, their strength, and the way they found one another after everything they had endured have meant so much to me since I first read their story.

I can only hope that there is still so much more waiting for Nesta, Gwyn and Emerie, and that their stories will continue to have a powerful place in the world of ACOTAR.

Because their stories are worth telling.

Cassian felt his brows furrow together. “You obviously aren’t fine, Nesta.”

“Well,” she conceded, “it’s not like that has ever mattered before.”

“It matters,” Cassian said. Did she think … “It matters, Nesta.”

Her scoff called him a hypocrite without any words being necessary. 

“You know why I don't want to come to these things?"

He went still. Afraid to want the answer too much. But he couldn’t stop himself, “More than anything.”

"Everyone assumes it's because I don't care."

"I don’t think–

"No." She interrupted gently. "Don’t lie. I know what everyone thinks. And you’re wrong. I don't come because every room changes when I walk in."

His stomach sank.

She continued looking into the darkness instead of at him. "I can feel it. I’m not … I don’t know how to be like the rest of you. And I think, you don’t know how to be around me without feeling sad. Without being reminded of everything.”

I can say that this chapter is a lot, however this is Cassian's fall to rock fucking bottom, so it's gonna be rough. This won't be a quick fix, but it'll be a wake up call for him.
