Another clip from the short-lived (thanks to the pandemic) 2020 Danish production of Tanz der Vampire. This is probably my favorite staging of āKnoblauchā ever.

Hugh Panaro and Elizabeth Welch together really should've been against the law.

Tanzsaal - Tanz der Vampire (2005 proshot)

At this point if they actually wanted to make a unique retelling of Dracula, they should have Quincey as the main character, market it as a tragic Western/British romance, and then halfway through drop us into the plot of Dracula
Ok, so in the original Bram Stoker novel, sunlight is not lethal to Dracula. He just loses most of his powers. I'm bringing this up cuz I want a horror comedy where the hero, sensing dawn, tears off the curtains as a last-ditch effort only to have the vampire go "Aw shit, there goes most of my fancy powers. Guess I'll have to beat your ass the old-fashioned way" then proceeds to just deck the hero cuz a vampire at half-strength is still a fucking vampire.
I would honestly love for Dracula to beat a man by hand even with his powers. "Oh no Dracula is evasive and attacks when people are sleeping." No. Give me brawler Dracula. Like bare knuckle boxing, alley knife fighting in life vampire who almost never uses his powers because "why bother when I arrive with these fist?" I'm feeling like... What if Robert Downey Jr's version of Sherlock were Dracula. You feel me?

Iām at work, extremely tired after Prague Pirates, but I just noticed I havenāt posted a thing in nearly three weeks, so have a quick doodle done during snack break to end the long inactivity while I try to think of a proper comic or painting to do over the next few days.
Sir David Suchet shares an amusing fan encounter story from the set of Agatha Christieās Poirot in Hastings, East Sussex - BFI Q&A, November 12 2013
āāOh!ā she said, apparently satisfied, and set off on her away again, only to stop once again moments later. āThank you for choosing Hastings,ā she said, with a gentle wave, and she set off up the street away from me. Even as I remember that day now, it brings a tear to my eye. It was so touching, and seemed to reflect exactly how much ordinary people really seemed to care about the little Belgian, even if he was entirely the product of Dame Agathaās imagination.ā - David Suchet, Poirot and Me

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER | 3.22
I work at Trader Joe's and decided to make an OFMD lighthouse painting inspired chalkboard! I wanted it to be something that fellow crew would immediately recognizeā¦and then get butterflies and warm fuzzy feelingsš„° Nothing can ever take away the impact this show has made on all of us.
I had so much fun making it! Hope you all enjoy!
Stedeās little face when he says, āā¦The next adventure?ā Like, āthis one where I bring you tea just the way you like it isnāt adventuresome enough?ā
And Edās like, āYeah, see, the thing is, no one has ever brought me tea before or cared enough to even know how I take my tea and Iām so achingly in love with you at this point that if I do not leave RIGHT NOW I will only fall more in love with you, though that feels literally impossible, and you donāt even know that I have been flirting with you for the past month and also how fucking dare you look so hot in that dressing gown, so fuck you, actually, please never leave me.ā
I don't wanna @ anyone because I understand how fast things seem to move in today's landscape of streaming shows dropping entire seasons in one day, and networks pumping out new series constantly to try to attract more subscribers with no intent to actually maintain those shows over time but I just saw someone self-deprecatingly lament that they are still thinking about a show that ended almost a year ago, making fan art and playlists for it, and I want to be very clear:
you can still create fanworks when it comes to old media!! PLEASE do!! there are always going to be new fans who will appreciate it, and veteran fans who are dying for new content and new perspectives. also, less than a year is NOTHING. the original Star Trek series was on TV six decades ago and there are still people losing their minds over it, writing stories and reblogging gifsets daily, and that's only one example.
a fandom lasts as long as there are people who love a thing, even if it's only a handful of people. love what you love and write and draw and make gifs and playlists about it!
raise your hand if you still have brainrot about a show that isn't airing
I think that Sunnydale can largely thank Anya for not having a lot more incidents of chaotic inexperienced magic users (e.g. the Trio) causing mayhem. Why? Well, when Giles sold Glory 2 items that could be used for a dangerous spell, she called him out, basically asking why he would sell anyone such a dangerous combo. This indicates that Anya is at least generally aware of what shouldn't be sold to customers or what to watch out for, and implies she wouldn't have sold Glory the items. Furthermore, when the gang is under the Tabula Rasa spell, we saw that an amnesiac version of Anya was able to perform potentially dangerous spells using only a single spell book, including conjuring rabbits and a sentient skeleton (that Giles sword fights with). This indicates it would be entirely possible for people with no idea what they're doing to perform irresponsible magic fairly easily.
Basically, Anya prevented a large amount of even more crazy whacky things from happening in Sunnydale
We needed scenes of Anya calling Buffy and saying "Someone just bought these dangerous items and he was clearly a vampire intent on ending the world, you should go stake them"
Buffy "Why did you make the sale if you knew this could end the world??"
Anya "I jacked up the price and got him to pay triple. I mean, he thought he was about to end the world so he wasn't going to care if I took all his money. Now go kill him before he does the spell, this is your sacred calling"

Good Omens 2.02 | The Clue
For your viewing pleasure, the extended shot of this epic sceneš“āā ļø It sadly had to be shortened for time, but we really enjoyed doing this in one take. All the little details- the Swede as a fashionista, Auntie watching proudly, Wee John weighing his options, Frenchie all Cool Hand Luke, Stedeās hesitant smile at the endāļø Taika is the one timing the throwing of the clothes while guiding the camera operator so he doesnāt step on our brave extras. Directed by the amazing @ferfrias⨠And I sadly had to cut the opening shot of brave young Alexās a** so this post doesnāt get flagged. But I know itās all seared into our brainsā¦ā ļøš
