Susan Sarandon and Count von Count parodied The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Sesame Street. In said segment, the two were stranded outside a castle in the rain after their car broke down, closely mirroring the opening of the movie.

I'm late to post about the winter olympics but here's a fan animation I made of Kaori Sakamoto . I wanted to capture the dynamic energy of the performance.

Her smile, bathed in the silvery moonlight streaming through the window, felt like a sunrise blooming in my chest. I cupped her face, my thumb tracing the gentle curve of her cheekbone. The warmth radiating from her touch was a stark contrast to the cold, oppressive atmosphere of Privet Drive I'd just escaped.
"Luna," I whispered, my voice hoarse with a mix of longing and trepidation, "I think... I think I'm in love with you."
Her smile widened, her eyes sparkling with an ethereal light. "I know, Harry," she replied, her voice soft as a summer breeze. "You've been writing it in the constellations all summer."
My breath hitched. The constellations. Of course. Every night, we'd lie on the dew-kissed grass, pointing out patterns in the star-dusted sky, weaving stories of Nargles and Crumple-Horned Snorkacks. But lately, the stories had been subtly changing, the constellations forming shapes that mirrored the unspoken feelings blossoming between us.
"I⦠I want to be more than just friends, Luna," I confessed, my voice barely above a murmur. "I want to be everything you'll let me be."
Her eyes held mine, a silent question hanging in the air. The answer, unspoken yet thrumming through every fiber of my being, was clear. I wanted to hold her closer, feel her warmth against mine, explore the uncharted territory of our desires.
As if reading my mind, she leaned in, her lips brushing mine in a whisper of a kiss. It was a spark, igniting a wildfire within me. My hands found their way to her hair, the soft strands slipping through my fingers as I deepened the kiss.
The world around us melted away, replaced by the intoxicating scent of her lavender perfume and the soft press of her body against mine. We moved in sync, a silent dance fueled by unspoken emotions. Her touch was light as a feather, yet sent shivers down my spine. Every touch, every kiss, whispered promises of something more, something deeper.
The night air turned cool, carrying the scent of honeysuckle and moonlight. We lay entangled in the sheets, the silence comfortable, charged with unspoken desires. Finally, I broke the silence, my voice husky with emotion.
"Luna," I murmured, tracing patterns on her bare arm, "do you wantā¦"
Her eyes, luminous in the darkness, met mine. "Yes, Harry," she breathed, her voice barely a whisper. "I want."
And in that moment, under the watchful gaze of the moon and the silent witness of the stars, we crossed the invisible line, our friendship blossoming into something more profound, more beautiful. It was a love story written in constellations, whispered in kisses, and sealed with the tenderness of a summer night.
As dawn painted the sky in hues of pink and orange, we lay entwined, the warmth of our love a shield against the encroaching day. The world outside might be dark and uncertain, but in that moment, I knew that with Luna by my side, I could face anything. We had found our own constellation, a beacon of light guiding us through the shadows, forever bound by the magic of that summer night.
Such a wonderful moment. LOL, there's a part of me that goes: Oh if they knew about all the horrible things I've done to them-the times I had Voldemort kill poor Luna (well rather she took the bolt meant to kill Harry that second time), the times I gave Harry nervous breakdowns-a few leading to him staying at St. Mungo's, sometimes in a ward with Neville's parents and Luna's father, that time I decided that it would be Luna with the drinking problem because of what happened to her and because of the fallout of what people perceived her father did....
But there were also lots of romantic stories-especially during that summer between years 5 and 6...

Dick: wait, so your first girlfriend was Lana Lang, your second girlfriend was Lori Lemaris, your current ex is Lois Lane, and the guy who's obsessed with taking you down is Lex Luthor.
Clark: I--yeah.
Dick: sounds like, after all those L's, you might want a W.
Clark, sputtering: W-what?
Dick, looking directly at Clark so he doesn't misunderstand, gesturing toward Bruce who's busy descaling the coffee machine and absolutely *not* listening in on his kid trying to be his wingman: Take the W, Clark.

As Kohane leaves she says goodbye to everyone including the unseen child, and thanks them for their concern over her earlier. She is, as always, an absolute ray of sunshine and just endlessly kind, even when Watanuki isnāt letting her see them or even explain who they are.Ā
And the child reacts well!
BUT ISNāT THAT HEARTBREAKING?
So it seems that either the child was in a similar situation to Kohane with uncaring parents, or they were VERY young, or they were always some kind of spirit who just hasnāt interacted with many other beings just yet. Either way, it is incredible that they get to meet Kohane and right some of that wrong, even if only briefly.Ā
Meanwhile Doumeki has figured out some of Watanukiās plans here.Ā
In which something is hunting the child as well, so theyāre having to play defence.Ā
And I LOVE the panel at the top of the page here, with the stark black background as Watanuki and Doumeki look at each other. It has such a MOOD to it, especially since the background colours are inverted from the panels around it. And! Despite the fact that theyāre looking directly at each other, theyāre still in separate boxes. Even when thereās no actual shift in perspective from the viewer and no actual distance between them, they are still ~separated~, which really adds to the darker tone the panel is taking and connects it with the mood of the arc overall. It also introduces the idea that this task might be dangerous - moreso than usual, even, since the last time we saw Watanuki do this he just opened the gates and let it happen. Now heās ASKING first, which brings weight to the question.Ā
But of course itās Doumeki, so he agrees without pause and just moves the conversation along right away when Watanuki lingers on that fact.Ā
We get a few more hints about the nature of the spirit, but Iām mostly interested in that last panel with Doumeki looking at Watanuki in shock. Itās either Doumeki figuring out the spirit through context OR him applying the formula of the situation to Watanuki instead, WHICH is RICH with nice parallels for Watanukiās characterisation. He is a naturally empathetic person and always kind to kids, weāve seen that a lot, but the panel adds a parallel to Watanukiās own backstory that might hint at a connection he might be feeling to the child.Ā
Because Watanuki WAS forced from a place he loved for reasons he couldnāt comprehend. He was abandoned by his parents and left alone in this dimension when he was young, as Doumeki knows from when he first saw Watanuki, and these feelings were probably echoed for him when Yuuko vanished and left him in an emotionally similar state. With that in mind itās no wonder heās connected so deeply with the unseen child - and it also explains why heās taken Yuukoās loss so heavily as to spend ten years of his life endlessly waiting. In a way, losing Yuuko was the second big abandonment in his life, and the only one he properly remembers - itās The Watanuki Wound hitting as hard as it possibly can. It explains a lot.Ā
And HERE we get Doumekiās understated devotion shining through. Watanuki presents several obstacles in the situation to Doumeki and he once again accepts them all without pause. They have to stay within the store grounds, he has to stay with them outside, and heāll get wet from the rain - but Doumeki doesnāt complain at any of these even slightly, accepting each one right away. And he even checks in with the child to see if itās ok with them too.Ā
Itās a nice subtle moment but one where Doumekiās practicality really shines through. Heās doing this for Watanuki so OF COURSE nothing is going to be annoying or impractical to him, heās already agreed to do it so the side details donāt matter. Heās always in this every step of the way, as much as Watanuki never seems to fully realise the depth of his commitment to him.Ā
It feels like a direct echo of the encounter in the previous chapter, with a big hostile spirit made of darkness attacking them in the yard, but this one is already MUCH worse. The previous one was just a lingering angry spirit - this one looks cataclysmic by comparison. I donāt think weāve seen anything like it in xxxHolic before.Ā
Either way itās going pretty well in general until IT DOESNāT
UNPROMPTED.
WATANUKI GETS WRECKED.Ā
Itās unclear in this moment if the spirit has managed to do this to Watanuki (without either of them seeing it) or if this is more like āa priceā that is being taken out of Watanuki since the deal is technically unbalanced due to the amount of effort itās taking them. Or maybe a secret third thing! Not sure just yet but weāll find out later Iām sure.Ā
Itās all a very beautifully drawn little fight scene that ultimately ends with this little trick:
Which they explain wasnāt even a plan they set up, Doumeki just figured out what power the wine had from context and used it as a last minute tactic to (once again) save Watanuki from certain death.Ā
(He doesnāt thank him by the way)Ā
(Just, for the record)
MEANWHILE they won the battle and the being coming to collect the unseen child turns out to be a bridge
Or maybe there is someone else unseen on the bridge? Or maybe not! Maybe it just a bridge. But one way or the other!
Ok no yeah thereās no-one on the bridge. But they have successfully gotten the unseen child across the bridge after all! Successfully sending them to the after life.Ā
And, goodness, not to pick a fight with xxxHolic but Mokona comes in at the end so that he and Doumeki can piece together what happened and I think I actually disagree with them.Ā
So they say all this and Iām sitting here like WHAT?
WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
Have I missed an arc? Since when was Watanuki trying to learn to rely on others? Heās been doing it for ten years! THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR TEN YEARS.Ā
The problems Watanuki has been facing in the cage arc are: putting himself at extreme risk repeatedly despite the increasing warnings, pushing himself further and further away from his human connections, and being ok with anything that happens to him if it means achieving his goal of meeting Yuuko again.Ā
None of that has anything to do with Maru and Moro doing chores or Doumeki helping him with jobs, because again, theyāve done that since the start of the arc.Ā
Watanuki STILL put himself at risk here, shielding everyone else except himself and still using himself as a human shield to save the unseen child.Ā
And I want to point out that he DID NOT explain to Doumeki what the wine was for AT ALL, so he didnāt increase his trust in Doumeki or explain to him everything that was even just on the porch - let alone the fact that he didnāt tell Doumeki that he wasnāt shielding himself, AND ALSO wasnāt letting Doumeki see THE ACTUAL PERSON THEY WERE TRYING TO PROTECT.Ā
So, Iām sorry Mokona I disagree severely. Watanuki did not do what you said, he did not learn to trust anyone more than normal, and he hasnāt learned to try not put himself in infinite danger. He has put himself in the perfect Syaoran cage of infinite suffering for the vague promise of an unguaranteed outcome and nothing about that has changed by adding to his infinite suffering.Ā
BUT ANYWAY YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY
MAYBE THIS IS A LOVELY MOMENT AFTER ALL?
PLEASE TELL ME IF IT IS
At the very least itās nice to see Doumeki smile. IF ONLY IT WAS EARNED.Ā
BUT YES HAVE A GOOD REST AND STUFF THATāS GOOD ALSO
The chapter continues but I'll leave it there for the moment
