The gist of the Biblical story, "the Binding (of Issac)” is of Abraham asked by God to sacrifice his son Issac as a means of testing his faith in him, and indirectly their fear.

In the Binding, before Issac was to be killed, Issac asked his father where the animal to be sacrificed was. An angel stopped Issac’s sacrifice as in Abraham words, "God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering" the act of following God’s word was enough and a ram was provided and sacrificed in Isaac’s place.

Unlike the Biblical account, Ballas is a malevolent God figure that used Issah as the memory that broke Excalibur Umbra’s will and mind to become a malleable avatar for the Operator’s to direct their killing instincts. Becoming the Orokin’s “salvation” from the Sentients.

Issac (EYE-sach) sounds similarly to Issah (EYE-sah).
