I'm going to be fully honesty, I skipped the Zekhan chapters when first reading Shadows Rising because I don't like him, and that was a Zekhan chapter. So I read through Shadows Rising, skipping that chapter, getting to the next chapter of Sira being like "wow Nathanos you're soo heartless" or whatever and Nathanos just not acknowledging you and thought nothing of it.
I learned about Nathanos' insanely evil act that turns to hilarious absurdity because it's throwing orphans in a tar pit and then setting it on fire only while listening to the audio book at work. It's such a bizarre tonal shift into the extreme absurdity and I cannot fathom why Roux wrote that instead of just... I don't know, Nathanos shooting him?
Favorite "fan favorite" characters who did not have plot armor or even name at first, but the community love them

AU idea: Modern Hero/Villain
•Hange works for the Zeke, a billionaire criminal mastermind as his confidant and scientific advisor. He charms her and promises a life she believes is worth living and spins a web of lies, convincing her that his plans are for the sake of bettering society. Levi is an agent and head of the task force that is investigating Zeke’s plots. They’ve been collecting evidence for years to finally but him behind bars. At an event Zeke is hosting thats masked as a charity event, Levi and his team infiltrate it undercover where he crosses paths with Hange and is charmed by here aura (and of course her beauty) The party immediately breaks out into chaos when he discovers that she is involved with Zeke.
