“How about putting me down now?” Marinette asked pointing to the ground with her free hand. She was only a few inches from the surface. Her other hand having a relaxed hold on the hand that had just saved her from her fall.

“Though I really do thank you for saving me.” She said. “Trust me, I don’t make it a habit to fall off things.”

Adrien looked away as the older woman kept trying to make passes at him. Why did this always happen to him? Yeah, even at 18, he looked older than what he was but his age was all over papers and magazines from his modeling. Did this woman not know? That’s when he caught sight of Marinette. He gave her a pleading look, mouthing “help me” as well as he could and discreetly pointing to the cougar.

She frowned a little bit at that. “Just don’t starve yourself like I hear some models do.” She said before letting herself be pushed towards the counter. She picked out a sandwich and a water after a moment of thinking.

He tilted his head to the side, shaking his head. “No, I won’t starve myself. I promise. Father just keeps me on a diet.” he said, ordering his own soup and bread before walking with her to a cafe table.

“Well, that isn’t so bad.” She said smiling again. “Just as long as you are able to cheat on it every so often.” She sent him a wink. “I’ll see what I can do about getting you a few cookies every so often.”

Marinette just knew that would be the reaction she received. She looked down at the ground shuffling her feet. She hoped they could see him, know she wasn’t crazy.

She heard him speak next to her and glanced over. He had made himself visible again. Alya’s jaw had dropped as she looked between both Adrien and Marinette.

“How is that even possible?” She said after a while.

Adrien moved close to Marinette, floating a couple inches off the ground. “I’m…not sure to be honest. Maybe I have regrets? Maybe I just wanted too strongly to not leave…Either way i’m tied to my ring, and Marinette is keeping the ring, so wherever she goes I go.” he said, scratching his chin.

Nino stared between them, shaking his head. “So wait, my best bro is now a ghost, tied to the ring that turned him into a superhero, and not able to leave?”

“It would seem like that.” Marinette said. “I am glad to be able to see him again though.” She smiled at Adrien even giving a small giggle as he floated. “Though he is a bit cold now.”

Alya looked between the two of them. “And you two are okay with this?” She asked. “Marinette you seem to have a ghost boyfriend.”

“Is that really the strangest thing you’ve seen yet?” Marinette asked tilting her head at her friend.

The light blush turned into a full on blush as he took her hand. “Okay.” She said attempting to give him a small smile and get her blush under control. “What did you want to get?” She asked looking towards the menu of the café they had entered.

He bit his lip a bit, looking at the menu as well. “Well I was thinking of getting some soup and bread….I do have a photoshoot tomorrow so I can’t eat far off my regimen…” he mumbled to himself, smiling at her and gently pushing her towards the counter. “But i’m paying, so you go first.”

She frowned a little bit at that. “Just don’t starve yourself like I hear some models do.” She said before letting herself be pushed towards the counter. She picked out a sandwich and a water after a moment of thinking.

Nice one, dude”, Nino gave him a thumbs up and Adrien hesitantly removed his arm from around her.

Alya’s eyes narrowed slightly as she smirked at the pair. “You sure about that?” She asked. “The two of you did look rather cozy when we walked in…”

“You’re not really helping Alya…” Marinette said.

“I’m only teasing him a bit.” Alya said settling back on the couch. “I know he wouldn’t do anything to hurt you. You’re able to pick someone good enough for you I know it.”

“Just back off the teasing a bit.” Marinette said. “He is pretty shy.”

Alya gave a small sigh before petting her friend’s hair. “Alright.” She said. “I’ll lay off the teasing when he’s around.”

“I hope Adrien’s alright though...” Marinette said looking towards the door. “Do you think I should go check on him?”

“He has Nino, and girl I know your sense of direction.” Alya said taking Marinette’s arm. “You will be staying right here with me until they return.”

Marinette let out a small protesting whine as she hid her face in Adrien’s shirt. “Just ignore her, she’s teasing.”
