Oikawa from now on will continue to practice and become better and better not for the fear of being surpassed ( he accepted the fact that Kageyama could surpass him one day) or for his Obsession against Geniuses, but because he believes in himself, in his capabilities, in the day his talent will finally bloom (for me, this chapter is the prove his true talent started to bloom, and this thanks to his “good sense” that he has honed until now! ). Oikawa didn’t win the match, but he did win a more important thing: The new confidence in himself.

In this manga I don’t think there are really Geniuses. Even Miya Atsumu, the best setter in High School in Japan, isn’t a Genius. In this manga there are only characters that work really hard their butts and become strong. I hope Oikawa will understand one day that both Ushijima and Kageyama really work hard: especially Kageyama doesn’t know what is a day of rest. He believes is a waste! Kageyama has the same volleyball’s obsession of Hinata!

You can have a lot of talent, it’s useless without work. You can don’t have any talent: nobody borns skilled. You have to work to become that. To become the strongest player you don’t have to be different, you have to make you strong. Maybe he has understood this.

In the past, someone talked to him about an hard choice to make. A choice he didn’t totally understand then: the easiest was “stop and complain about not being a Genius”; the hardest was “accepting that and continue on straight ahead”.

We know Oikawa. We know his talent, his courange, his determination.

And we also know what is the only choice that this amazing character could have made:
