It was through certain characters and their losses that Dante was able to reclaim his name and understand that true strength is much more than power, it's the desire to protect what's important to him.

The show has already taken Grue out of contact with Dante. Now with the chance of Nell being linked to Lady… It's kind of lost the importance of Ebony and Ivory's conception.

Assuming that in the second season Nell is close to Lady, almost a mother figure or very close friend, that at Lady's request she created Ebony and Ivory and that at Lady/Darkcom's suggestion Dante's new identity will be Tony Redgrave… What's left for him?

These details are fundamental parts of who Dante is in canon, these experiences were part of his growth, if in the show it will be attributed to Lady… It will only emphasize how Dante is a supporting character where his story doesn't have the slightest importance.

I think it's silly who thinks people who rightly criticize the Netflix show are bad. No one is stopping anyone who liked it from watching it, commenting on it and enjoying it, so why should anyone who didn't like it keep quiet? Everyone is just giving their opinion, no one is being rude, and as long as the criticism is respectful, that's what matters. (And the people who are idiots with those who like the show we treat like the assholes they are)

And then there's the tiresome argument: if you want the story of the games, play the games. No one asked for an exact copy, people are angry that Netflix's DMC lacks the essence that makes the DMC story so special and beloved. For those of us who love the lore, who like to see about the characters and their nuances that sometimes go unnoticed or little explored in the games, we simply wanted an adaptation that understood these details with the sensitivity they deserve. However, all we got was a mediocre adaptation, with shallow characters, flanderizations bordering on the ridiculous, expository dialogues and almost no development. An adaptation that doesn't know the main core of the story it wants to adapt and distorts it is not a good adaptation. They promised a faithful essence and delivered none of it, and we have the right to complain.

It's gotten to the point where many fans consider that an animation that has nothing to do with DMC, that the target audience isn't even the majority of those people, but that is well done and has the true essence of DMC than the "official" adaptation.

Because we have Dante himself who still hates the fact that he’s part demon even though he accepted it, and said he hates going DT because he feels like he becomes something he isn’t. He still wanted to be as human as possible and only use his demon powers if he really has to (like against Vergil)
