        She was a ball of energy and delight, her features brightening as she took in the suite that they would be calling home for the next week. The scene of his victory. Oh, how he had waited and almost given into temptation! But now, now he would be able to indulge. 

        Daniel placed a kiss atop her head. “Go ahead and get comfortable. Our dinner reservations are not for a couple of hours yet.” If anything, it gave them time to adjust to the new location. Perhaps take a walk. Soak in the city. 

        Or, he could simply be a lecherous old man for one more night…

        “Ahh, but I request to unpack myself. I don’t need you stumbling onto any surprises I have in store for you.”

As much as she desired to look him in the eye, to keep her attention on him, she couldn’t help but to let them dart everywhere, to observe everything that was in the room. This room was bigger than her entire house, and she was in awe of just how nice everything was. If his goal was to make her feel like a princess, it certainly was working. She couldn’t hide the smile that had formed. 

Sherry did, however, lean into his kiss as he placed it on her head. She nodded at his command, letting her eyes land on the couch in the opposite room. It was so nicely put together, it almost made her not want to sit on it.

If Sherry said that she wasn’t eager to get herself packed and going, she’d be a liar. Suitcase that had been sitting unused finally started filling up, and she felt like it was going to burst if she tried to put anything else in there, granted it was a fairly small case to begin with, but she ran through all the scenarios of what she might possibly need, making sure nothing went unchecked. 

There, she sat on the plane, seats that were much nicer than those of Economy. Then again, she had little to compare it to. This was her first plane ride, after all. Still, it was much appreciated, as was everything that Daniel was doing to ensure her birthday was enjoyable, and she let her head rest on him as the flight took flight, and as they traveled and landed. She waited patiently as he checked in, and as the elevator rose to their floor, eyes widening once the door to their room was opened.
