        She was a ball of energy and delight, her features brightening as she took in the suite that they would be calling home for the next week. The scene of his victory. Oh, how he had waited and almost given into temptation! But now, now he would be able to indulge. 

        Daniel placed a kiss atop her head. “Go ahead and get comfortable. Our dinner reservations are not for a couple of hours yet.” If anything, it gave them time to adjust to the new location. Perhaps take a walk. Soak in the city. 

        Or, he could simply be a lecherous old man for one more night...

That worked for her, it was the easiest place to find him, and it would allow the two of them to be seen together at almost all times. No legal troubles for either of them could rise from such. She nodded once at his suggestion of the mansion. 

“The mansion. You can meet me in my room.” She almost laughed at that. How many times had she ushered those words? Perhaps that could be saved for later, though. For now, there were other matter to tend to. 

“It makes it the easiest for both of us, I’m sure.” She would then stand, and begin her trek towards the desired direction. 

        Her room.

        Daniel made sure he looked completely put-together that night. It was not a date. This was work... but why not put his best foot forward? Why not appeal as best he could? 

        He knocked on Midler’s door before pushing a couple silvering black strands from his face. Nervous? Very much so. So much rode on this very risky venture.

        There was not a hint of fear in her. Daniel could not be more pleased... except with how her hips ground down against his hand, craving more. The accidental friction that gave against him. The way her grip tightened on the cheap cape he had purchased just to complete the look. Putty in his hands...

        And he only wanted her more.

        His fingers quickened, his incentive to cease her ability to form the syllables of his name. He wanted her a quivering, moaning mess in his lap. He wanted her panting, praying, glowing...

        Daniel kissed the corner of her lips, encouraging her to turn her head. There was something so delightful about the intimacy that came with moaning into a kiss. Was it a power thing? Reassurance that he was the one causing such pleasure? He was unsure. Regardless, he wanted it.

        Well, she did not say no. She nodded, and the words were affirmative. Still, for a moment, his mind flashed back to how she woke, screaming in the night. Her fear. Her trauma.

        He would still take it slow. No sense scaring her off. If he had gotten this close only for her to push him away because he got eager...

        Daniel slipped one finger into her, feeling how wet she had gotten. How warm she was. Oh, he could only imagine how welcome he would be inside of her body. How those twitching muscles might clench him as they did not want him to pull out.

        Her nails in his back. Her moans in his ear. Begging. Legs wrapped around him...

        Slowly, he moved the digit out, then back in, waiting a few seconds before adding a second.

                               The answer was vague, as expected from a man that was put on the spot.  Daniel would not give him a concrete answer nor was DIO going to pry further on the matter—it wasn’t something that concerned him.

                  “——Very well…” His response was just as ambiguous, picking up the book that he had settled onto the table to return to his reading. The conversation was OVER, as far as he was aware. However, Daniel’s question proved otherwise. Golden eyes glanced away from the page where he had left to look at the gambler. His interest was certainly…endearing.

                      A moment of silence passes by and only a hum comes from the bottom of his throat, as he considered his answer. Daniel had already proven to be a man of trust—keeping the secret of the WORLD to the point of losing his sanity. His reward: A little insight into the future.

              “——A man of my trust shall arrive sooner or later—a dear friend of mine that I met in the States. I’d like you to meet him when time is due. After all, I have plans for you and your brother.”

        A friend from America. Daniel’s curiosity was piqued. Who? What manner of man was this that was so close to his Lord’s heart? Regardless, to meet the man was DIO’s wish, and Daniel was not want to displease.

        “Of course.” He nodded. “When the time comes. Until then...” Daniel gave a shallow bow. What he desired was a hot toddy, the company of his cat, and a good book before falling asleep. It had been too long since he enjoyed this set of comforts. How nice it was to have them back. His life back.

        You’re so good at this.

        Would it be tactless to say he had a lot of practice? Sherry was, as far as he was concerned, a virgin. Did he need to rub the fact that he was not in?

        So Daniel kept quiet on the matter and chose to focus on her sounds. Those sighs, whimpers, and moans. She was louder than he had remembered. Perhaps the better contact was the cause? Regardless, if this was how she sounded simply found his hand, how would she sound...?

        He shifted to try and ease some of his own discomforts, only to grind against her rear. Damn his imagination!

                     Daniel was right about something, and that was that she could look down on him if he were to show he had been concerned of her state despite his intentions coming from a place of good. She’d undoubtedly either tease him on the matter or be downright insulted by the question, as if she wasn’t strong enough to stand on his feet after such defeat. Mariah was a woman that hid her pain behind her pride and both, DIO and the gambler were well aware of that.

         “——She may have lost more than just a battle, but she stood up as quickly as she fell.” At least, that was the impression she wanted to give. But, of course, DIO could see right through her facade. He wondered if Daniel would be able to, as well. “——You’ll get a better from her than you will from me. Perhaps, a friendly face will lift her spirit.”

        “Perhaps.” Daniel would have to stop by her quarters later, then. Maybe she would let him in. Maybe she would deny him her company, even platonic. Maybe she would laugh at him, rub salt into the freshly-healed wounds of his failure. Mariah could be crueler than she was kind... and since when did their relationship mandate gentleness?

        He pulled himself from his thoughts. Enough of that. Later. He could indulge in his paranoia of rejection at her hand later.

        There was a level of sensitivity that she displayed that was abnormal to Daniel. Perhaps he was just used to women who were more experienced and familiar with either another’s touch or their own. Sherry - bless her - had barely experienced one and had she even tried the other?

        Her moans did not leave him unaffected. Daniel felt himself harden, pressing against her through the prison of fabric. There had to be a way that did not compromise their situation further but would grant him relief. How closely could he approach the line of legality?

        He moved his lips from her neck to her cheek. “You’re so pretty like this,” Daniel whispered. “So alight with pleasure. Giving in to your wants. Allowing yourself this. It’s beautiful... you glow.” All said as his fingers circled her again. A little harder, a little more focused.
