Draco Malfoy x Weasley! Ron twin! Fem! Reader
Y/N sat cross-legged atop the kitchen counter, screwdriver tucked behind her ear, entirely unrepentant.
That was the problem with her.
Bill was always so calm chaos never reached him.
Charlie was so good at managing to navigate through chaos so he never really minded it.
Percy was always reciting what happened during chaos with wierd accuracy.
Fred and George caused trouble because they enjoyed chaos.
Ron stumbled into trouble accidentally.
Ginny caused trouble because she was terrifying.
Y/N genuinely wanted to know how things worked. Every object became a mystery. Why did enchanted clocks choose specific magic? How did cursed necklaces recognize intent? Why were magical objects almost emotional sometimes?
Arthur adored those questions.
Ron suffered through them.
“You cannot take apart dark objects just because you’re curious,” Ron told her for the thousandth time during fifth year while following her through Hogwarts corridors.
“Actually I can,” Y/N replied.
Ron groaned dramatically. “One day I’m going to walk into the common room and find you possessed.”
“You licked a cursed gobstone in third year.”
“To see if it was really cursed.”
“You were unconscious for six hours!”
Harry laughed so hard he nearly walked into a suit of armor.
Hermione sighed without looking up from her book. “Honestly, I stopped questioning her years ago.”
By fifth year, Y/N had developed a reputation around Hogwarts.
She bought strange artifacts from older students.
She snuck into abandoned classrooms looking for leftover enchantments.
She once got detention after trying to “improve” Peeves with rune work.
Flitwick secretly thought she was brilliant.
McGonagall looked tired whenever she spoke.
Snape acted like her existence shortened his lifespan.
And Draco Malfoy absolutely could not stand her.
“She’s deranged,” he informed Blaise one afternoon while watching Y/N argue with a malfunctioning telescope in Astronomy.
“She talks to everything,” Blaise replied.
Y/N pointed at it accusingly. “Don’t you start.”
Because somehow the infuriating part wasn’t that she was strange.
It was that she made strange look easy.
Her robes were always ink-stained.
Her hair was never fully tied properly.
Her hands constantly carried tiny burns or scratches from experiments gone wrong.
And yet she moved through Hogwarts like she belonged there completely.
Like the castle itself amused her.
Draco hated that he noticed those things.
He hated even more that she noticed him noticing.
“What are you staring at, Malfoy?” she asked lazily without looking away from the telescope.
“You’re one failed experiment away from national tragedy.”
“You sound obsessed with me.”
“I sound concerned for public safety.”
Ron appeared instantly. “Why are you talking to my twin?”
Draco smirked. “Protective, Weasley?”
“Yes,” Ron said immediately.
“Pathologically,” Harry added.
Y/N looked offended. “I can protect myself.”
Ron pointed at the telescope, which had started smoking.
Then Colin Creevey got the camera.
At first it was just another Muggle novelty.
A Polaroid his parents had sent him over Christmas.
Colin adored it instantly.
He photographed everything …friends, lessons, food, ghosts….sleeping students.
Then one afternoon he misplaced it near an abandoned dueling room on the fifth floor.
A room everyone avoided because old magic lingered there strangely.
When he found it again, the camera had changed.
The first weird photograph was Neville.
The picture showed him covered head to toe in dirt and holding a snapped flowerpot.
Three hours later it happened exactly.
Then Dean’s photograph showed him failing a quiz before he took it.
Then Lavender’s predicted a fight with Parvati.
And naturally, the second Colin mentioned “possibly cursed magical object,” everyone pointed toward Y/N.
Ron looked immediately horrified.
“Yes,” Y/N said instantly.
“You are not touching haunted future magic.”
“You promised after the screaming kettle incident.”
“The kettle screamed first.”
Hermione leaned forward immediately as Colin handed over the camera.
“A predictive enchantment…” she murmured.
Y/N’s eyes practically glowed.
That was the exact moment Ron knew everyone was doomed.
For the next two weeks the camera consumed her entirely.
She carried it everywhere.
At first the future predictions stayed harmless.
But Y/N quickly realized the enchantment wasn’t stable.
And instead of being frightened like a normal person, she became fascinated.
“There’s layered magic inside it,” she explained excitedly late one night while sitting in the Gryffindor common room surrounded by tools. “Not just prediction. Emotional imprinting too.”
Hermione frowned. “Emotional?”
“The photos aren’t random. They’re choosing significant moments.”
“That’s deeply unsettling.”
“That’s deeply BRILLIANT.”
Ron grabbed a silver screwdriver before she could use it.
“You can’t stop scientific progress.”
“I can absolutely stop YOU.”
Every adjustment pushed the photographs farther into the future. Days became years.
The camera started producing images before the button even clicked.
And somehow through all this, Draco Malfoy kept appearing.
Then because he was curious.
Then because hours passed strangely fast around her.
He’d find her hidden in empty classrooms muttering over glowing runes, sleeves rolled messily to her elbows.
“You know,” he remarked one evening while leaning against a desk beside her, “normal people have hobbies.”
Y/N didn’t look up from the camera pieces scattered around her. “I do have hobbies.”
“Potentially fatal ones.”
“You’ve visited me six times this week.”
Draco felt himself smirk back.
Somewhere between insults and arguments, something shifted.
Y/N started expecting him.
Which made him unbearable.
“Why is Malfoy always around you lately?”
“He’s fascinated by my genius.”
Rain battered the castle windows while Y/N sat on the floor surrounded by tiny silver tools and scattered parchment.
The camera rested between her knees.
“You’re going blind,” Draco informed her from where he leaned against a desk.
“You’ve been staring at microscopic runes for three hours.”
“You’ve been watching me for three hours.”
Y/N grinned slightly and reached for the camera.
“I think I finally fixed the stabilization.”
“That sentence never ends well.”
“Oh relax. Worst case scenario, we explode.”
She adjusted the final rune.
The camera sparked violently.
“Why did you say ‘ah’ like that?”
“Because it’s not supposed to smoke-”
Draco lunged forward at the same moment she grabbed it.
A photograph slid out slowly.
“Why do you look traumatized? Do we see how I die?”
For the first time since she’d met him, Draco Malfoy looked genuinely shaken.
He handed her the photograph wordlessly.
And suddenly the air disappeared from the room.
It was them.Older. Far older than any photograph before.
Warm golden light filled a cluttered workshop lined with enchanted inventions and half-built magical objects.
Y/N sat perched on a wooden table wearing one of Draco’s black button-ups.
A wedding ring gleamed on her finger.
Draco stood between her knees, one hand spread possessively over the curve of her pregnant stomach while she laughed at something outside the frame.
Then moving gently, future Draco kissed her.
Like it was the thousandth time.
Y/N physically stumbled backward.
Draco looked equally horrified.
“You tampered with the camera.”
“You’re the one feeding dark magic into Muggle objects!”
“Oh yes because my lifelong dream was clearly reproducing with Draco Malfoy!”
The moving photograph continued behind her words.
Future Draco murmured something against her mouth that the picture couldn’t quite capture.
Soft and completely in love.
Y/N stared at herself like she was looking at a stranger.
“No,” she whispered again.
Then she grabbed the photo and shoved it deep into her bag like hiding it would erase it.
After that,everything got worse.
Y/N started noticing the way Draco always moved closer unconsciously when she explained something excitedly.
Draco noticed she only forgot to hate him when she laughed.
Arguments stretched too long.
Silences became dangerous.
So they avoided each other.
Then Harry accidentally walked in on Draco pinning Y/N against a bookshelf in an abandoned corridor while she whispered furiously “This is your fault.”
Harry backed out silently and later informed Hermione he’d “seen something deeply upsetting.”
Sneaking around after that became a disaster.
Ron was constantly suspicious.
Fred and George were worse.
“You’re hiding something,” Fred announced one breakfast while Y/N nearly inhaled pumpkin juice.
George narrowed his eyes dramatically. “She’s glowing.”
“You’re defensive,” Ginny sang.
Hermione looked up from her book slowly.
Y/N kicked Harry under the table before he could choke laughing.
The worst part was Draco found the whole thing amusing.
“You’re terrible at lying,” he murmured later that night while Y/N adjusted his tie in an empty corridor.
“I’m excellent at lying.”
“You look guilty every time your brother enters a room.”
“That’s because Ron looks like he wants to kill you.”
And suddenly months passed like that.
Secret meetings in unused classrooms.
Hands brushing beneath library tables.
Kissing in dark corridors while trying not to laugh.
The camera kept producing photographs.
Draco asleep beside her in a workshop.
Y/N dancing barefoot in Malfoy Manor.
Tiny red-haired children racing through hallways.
Every single picture terrified them.
Every single picture came true piece by piece…..
Y/N stood in a warm workshop cluttered with magical inventions.
Exactly like the photograph.
Her wedding ring glinted under golden light.
Draco’s arms wrapped around her from behind automatically while one hand rested over her pregnant stomach.
“You’re overworking again,” he murmured against her shoulder.
Because sitting on the nearby table was the old Polaroid camera.
And beside it, faded with age, was the original photograph.
The first future it had ever shown them.
For a long moment neither spoke.
Then moving exactly like the picture had predicted years ago, he leaned down and kissed her gently.
