What I’ve come to realize is that two people can be trying their best and it can still not be enough to make something last. I can try my best but I can’t expect my best to be good enough for somebody else and that’s okay. It doesn’t take away value from my worth but more so help me protect it. See the value in it. I think where people go wrong with love is having a “If I do this then this person has to feel this way about me” mindset, when in reality nobody owes anybody anything. We as human being are not entitled to anothers emotions or time. To be free in love is to give and expect nothing in return. It’s saying “ okay I am trying my best and just because this person isn’t receiving it how I’d like them to doesn’t mean I am any less worthy or not enough.” This. This realiziation is a hard pill to swallow, we spend so much time and effort to make something work just to have to walk away because at the end of the day, sometimes your best or your way of loving or the way you need to be loved is not something the other person can fulfill and vice versa. and that’s okay!
