kyratiqueen:
Ishwari whined, which was unlike her when he told her to do something. She didn’t want to do this though, she wanted to stay with him, where she belonged. “And what if I refuse?” She asked, a small pout on her lips as she crossed her arms. “I don’t want to be a spy, and you want me to take our son with me? What if it goes bad?” These thoughts has crossed her mind as soon as he told her, but she had let them overrun and now, she was thinking the worst. “What if he keeps me like a prisoner? Or kills our son and makes me watch?” She knew Pagan better than that but what if he had changed with the war waging in his new country. She stared up at Mohan, sighing softly as she waited for him to actually look at her instead of paying attention to his work, for once.
“You and I both know he would not dare murder the Tarun Matara. He may be non-religious, but he would not want to upset the Kyrati people more than he has already.” His body is tense from her whining – always one to counter his orders. What kind of married life was this? “I said you’re going, so you’re going. That’s the end of it.” There’s an edge to his voice. He’s irritated, and it’s obvious as he turns to face her, brows furrowed and jaw tightened. “I will not have my orders disobeyed. Do you understand me?”
Ishwari sighed, looking to the floor as she spoke. "Yes, Mohan." She knew it was no use to fight him when he got like this, especially when he looked at her like that. "When do I leave?" She asked after a moment, looking back up at him. She would try to be positive about this because, after all, she knew he was right. Pagan wouldn't dare kill her, the worst that would happen would be him ignoring her, or he would turn her away. "And how long will I be gone?" She was afraid to know the answer to that question, for she cared about her people just as much as she cared about Mohan. She didn't want to be gone long, but she would do what she had to.
