Ok so mumswap AU, where Hessonite is Steven’s mother. At the end of the war the Crystal Gems and the Diamonds make a secret negotiation, and the Earth is hit by the corruption light/song anyways. Hessonite, Emerald and Topaz, who haven’t left yet, are spared thanks to the power of the Prism, but their ships are damaged and never manage to leave Earth. They later find and take care of a newly emerged Aquamarine.

After thousands years, they’ve learnt to live with and respect humans, but they desperately want to come back home. Steven doesn’t know Topaz is a fusion, Emerald is in love with Hessonite but it’s always been a difficult relationship, she also loves Greg’s and Mayor Dewey’s vans and Jenny’s car, and Aquamarine has issues because she apparently doesn’t look like a Beryl and is trying to become the leader of the group. The Prism does things Lion usually is for. Do you know those theories where Rose delivered Steven as a sort of experiment…? This is the case. Hessonite thinks she might be able to come back thanks to the Prism, and without sacrificing Steven, who would keep living without a gem BUT with powers, creating a more efficient hybrid (in her original projects, a soldier).

They’ve tried to contact other gems for centuries, but no one ever replied. When Lapis informs HW, however, they’re shocked to find out that the Diamonds are sending some gems not to rescue them, but to SHATTER THEM… why?
