anyway these are the kinds of writings that inspired my post and no, my body is not an “echo of the patriarchal definition” of female embodiment and I long for the day people won’t hide behind big words and misinterpretations of theory to essentially deny the impact of sex-based oppression

“echo of the patriarchal definition” love this longstanding antifeminist meme - males brutalize and dehumanize female people for our bodies, so the actual problem is us and our bodies, not males or their active choice to perpetrate this brutalization/dehumanization, so the solution is that we should deny/”transcend” our bodies.

when people say stuff like “men see women as walking holes and a pair of tits, radfems [by acknowledging the female sex exists] are just like men, it’s patriarchy!” are straight up admitting that men oppress women because of our bodies, men enforce violence against us because of our bodies, and men, the creators and enforcers of patriarchy, define women, those they oppress, as being people with vaginas. But the problem isn’t men oppressing women, it’s women acknowledging our oppression. No issue with men’s violence against our bodies, the issue is us speaking up about the violence directed at our bodies from birth.

But they’re also saying, having a vagina = being nothing more than a vagina (aka a hole to fuck), but having a penis = being a whole person. These people never deny that they think if you have a group of people who only have vaginas, they are not people at all, just holes for men to stick their dicks in, and that you have to have a penis to be a person.

I can’t believe people are this stupid to say stuff like we can’t talk about sex because it’s a “patriarchal definition”, when “patriarchal definitions” are pretty important when trying to combat patriarchy. The “patriarchal definition” that the half of humans with penises (males) get to rule over and violently oppress the other half of humans with vaginas (females), is pretty fucking important to acknowledge, unless you don’t want male supremacy to end.

It is so vile and awful when people hear us say “women have vaginas” and immediately go “so women are worth nothing more than their vaginas? Women are just walking vaginas to you?” Like the amount of projection there is so ridiculous. I wish there was a way to make them see that this idea is A) their own fabrication and not at all implied in the original statement and B) just incredibly misogynist.
