Last summer's comic book binge saw my interest in Marvel and DC reignite. It was a flame that I regret putting out in the first place.

It got to the point where I doubled my collection and had to redesign an old filing cabinet to store all my new pick-ups. I probably visited the local comic shop once or twice a week, buying anywhere between one-to-four comics per visit. I became a regular at one shop and made my presence felt at three others. I was reliving my high school days.

I got caught up in various stories during this time; most of which were pretty popular series (i.e. Avengers vs X-Men, New 52's Batman: Court of Owls). On top of that, I collected quite a bit of Thor's and a lot of old Amazing Spider-Man's.

I've never been much of a sneaker dude. When I was a kid, I'd get my annual kicks at the beginning of each school year. I still vaguely remember some of the shoes I had during elementary school. I had a pair of orange and black velcro Roos; a pair of baby blue Phat Farms; a dirty pair of Converse; white-on-white Iversons; and orange high-top Pony's. 

High school was a write off because my school's uniform required students to wear black dress shoes. Students still tried to wear black-on-black Air Max's, but their disguise didn't last long.

The only really time I took sneakers seriously was when I played basketball. I got hand-me-down shoes for the longest time, like my Nike Team USAs that I still rock today.  In grade 11, however, I finally got my own pair of shoes; the Nike Air Max Spot Ups (Dirk Nowitzki Playoff  Pack Ed.) I still have 'em to this day. They're in pretty good condition, even after seeing some mileage.
