Ok, you seem to take yourself seriously, as a fan blog. So, I hope you'll take this ask seriously.
I'm really new into the grunge stuff (don't even know if I can call it fandom), I'm 21, but I've been in countless 'fandom's since I was 9. (Over half my life, damn) And I really only have my past experiences, with fandom to base off of, but for nirvana specifically it's /impossible/ to find fanfic, ship art, or other stuff in the rpf sense. I don't understand why, or, I guess I can. People still make ship content, but only for straight couples? Is there a specific reason for that? Rpf, in and of itself, is complicated, and can be problematic, but I've never seen it stop people, before. Is it a "respect for the dead" thing? Are the fans just holding residual homophobia, in today's age? Even young fans, like myself, don't really even try to toe the line. I really love the dynamic of Dave and Kurt, specifically, and there's less than 500 fics under their tag on ao3. I feel a little crazy, and scared to ask anyone (sorry for choosing you, feel free not to answer, btw). This is just my way of having fun, I don't even post, online, but I want content to consume.. I write fanfic, but only physical, with pen and paper (for entirely unrelated, paranoia, reasons). Is that where it's all at? In someone's old notebook stash, in an attic, or a closet? I understand why theres not much, in the way of clips, candid photos, or other more personal moments, cameras sucked in the early 90's so over half of everything is by word of mouth. But why haven't the fans put in the work? Why does everyone seem so weird, and obsessed with Courtney (not that I dislike her, just not what I'm looking for)? Ugh this ask is massive, I'm sorry, again. Ill make the text small so it's less hefty. And, if it helps, or makes you hate me, I'm coming from the fall out boy fandom. Everything is so different 'around here'.
Personally I think it's out of respect for Kurt, Dave, Courtney and Frances. At any given moment Dave, Courtney or Frances could come across fics like that and it would probably be upsetting for them because RPF is a double-edged sword in this case.
