Good day/night, visitors. As you've stepped on my online territory that is my blog, let me introduce myself.

Call me Kunavi (koo-'nah-vee), it's Greek for marten (kounávi - κουνάβι), I simply like how it sounds.

I am a physical nonhuman, holothere, mainly a European pine marten, Martes martes, and secondary a Eurasian stoat, Mustela erminea, all on all levels including physical. Also I'm a European badger otherflicker.

Yeah! I'm a weremarten!

Indeed, I am mustelid fantasy! 🤎

Last night my left. shoulder..! blade..! sprouted thick fur.

I watched it.

And I disliked it. Very much.

I thought I disliked the first movie, but the second movie is worse. Horrible fanfiction with tiiiiiiny elements from the books. One element from the beginning of the third book, one element from the end of the first book, one big element from the second book, and one element from the end of the third book.And mixed with original scenario that isn't anywhere in the books. It's confusing. These elements from the books were the only good part.

You see, I am a fan of the books. And overall I am a fan of faithful adaptations without foreign fantasies from movie makers. I am from the camp of people who want Disney remakes that are made frame by frame, without any new additions that may ruin everything. I can understand if they must remove some book parts for a shorter movie. BUT not to replace them with weaker fanfiction that changes character personalities upside down or make weird plotlines. That's not their personality! The book characters would never behave like this or say this! I now admit that the first movie is more bearable against the backdrop of this flop that is the second movie.

Yeah, right - tell that to the people who protect species from extinction. Biologists, scientists who are working on how to save them. Tell that to the vets who save your pets and wild animals. To the wildlife sanctuaries that are kept by, you know, humans? To the volunteers? To the rescue workers who pull people out along with their pets? Are they evil too, only because they happen to be humans? How awful they all are - they’d be better off disappearing, ha. And those who advise "releasing" animals born in captivity, who eat from a feeding spot and have no survival skills in the wild. So the animal just sits and waits for some predator to attack them right there.

This whole discourse is driving me crazy.

Some say that others are bad rep. Others say that other others are bad rep. And once again, the general word "therian" is being equated with some childish, immature people who do nothing else but just run around taking everything from everyone. "The therians have stolen our term," "The therians have ruined our community," "The therians are eroding our experience." It’s a whole different story with the words "nonhuman" and "holothere" - they’re seen as "serious", "mature", "cut off from these little therian kids". What the hell does that even mean?! These are just other labels for specific personal experiences, there isn't some "what's less and what's more" factor in all these terms, is there? All terms just exist, and they shouldn't compete with each other "in coolness" or whatever!

Once the word "therian"/"therianthrope" used to be taken seriously! And that was enough! If you consider yourself an animal, then you’re a therian. And that was enough: both 100% animal and 1% animal folks were considered therians! There used to be a few subtypes like contherian or suntherian etc., but now other identities have crushed the general term "therian" so much that people are SCARED TO EVEN USE IT, for fear of looking like TikTok kids?

What have we come to, fellow animals? To the point of fearing a word that once belonged to us, to all of us - spiritual, psychological, biological, physical, clinical zoanthropes - everyone who identifies as an animal to some degree. And what do I see now? I see posts along the lines of "Oh, those foolish therians, they’ve ruined everything, pushing us out and leaving us no room."

Now even I have no idea how to describe myself from this labyrinth of words. I personally believe that I have some sort of genetic inheritance from a were-marten in my lineage, I have the corresponding genes and altered DNA, and I experience physical shifts from time to time. I have no idea which specific category my identity fits into. Physical, biological - I don’t know! And guess what, I’m totally fine with the word "therian"! It’s upsetting when I see people treat the term this way - like they’re actually afraid to use it!

Hello! :D Mustelid 'types are less common to see than even other carnivore family 'types, so it's always very nice to see more mustelid alterhumans!

I decided to take my kit outside, take some photos, read a book, and feed my favorite birds, the pigeons.

As you may know, I don't have much practice with digital art, it's my phone and my finger, but I tried so hard with this selfie edit!! It's me :D

r/therian is a mess, I'm out of here

Me saying that the Freedom of Form Foundation is a pseudoscientific science-fiction-esque project that no one should take seriously (but take it as a hypothetical research), is seen is "You were deemed to be trolling or otherwise disrespectful towards a user or alterhuman identities."

When I try to tell people to be careful, that such concepts are otherworldly, like changing skull bones, stretching existing nerves, growing feathers on human skin etc. all this radical change in anatomy, a restructuring of the nervous system to accommodate a new body form, is incredibly hard and near to impossible; and not even saying a personal thing to the commenters (as if to disrespect them). So they won't pay money to this science-fiction project foundation, all hoping that their ideas will come true in our lifetime.

And all they say is "people used to say that X was impossible too, so give it some time and it will be possible". This does not imply that anything is possible. And this funny thing from one of repliers telling me that new technologies always needed time and FFF just needs their time: "Maybe when you finish high school you'll understand that." Haha. Like yeah, new projects always take time, but they also stay feasible? Do not confuse partial repair or replacement of part of the body like replacing a heart valve, tissue engineering or kidney transplantation with a complete redesign of the adult body into a new body plan. I think there were different biology lessons in our schools..?

I perfectly see transitioning with body modifications, implants, plastic surgeries and prosthetics (I'm all for it, really), but not with changing bones, rearranging nerves, growing scales on skin, and moving muscles and blood vessels!

Otherwise, I wait for projects that will make teleportation (of living matter, not info), magic wands and a time machine (not to the future, but to the past) possible.
