You knew when you arrived in Africa, for the study abroad program, and the translator told you “we are so happy to have American woman” that there must have been a mistake. You were clearly a boy right? I mean sure you were on the smaller side and quite slender, and of course your long blonde hair could be viewed as feminine, but that was it right? Well you got to your lodging and were shown to a clearly feminine room. You checked the drawers and closets and saw only female clothes. You gulped as you realized what was happening. A quick knock on your door and you were told to head to the river shortly to make some mud rafts with the locals. You checked your drawer and found a swimsuit to wear. Albeit a black bikini. But you put it on, did your hair up in a not and headed to the river. You met many of the local men who were clearly fascinated by your pale skin and small little body. You in return rather shyly noticed how big and strong these men looked. You felt quite small in comparison.
As the next few weeks went by you got completely used to being in the role of the white American girl. You let the local men take you to see many of the wonders of Africa. For each man that showed took you out and showed you around, you happily returned the favor by letting them kiss you.
You kissed men at the pyramids. You kissed men on the beaches.
You kissed men at night around the fire
You kissed men in the local markets
And you even kissed men while exploring the jungle.
When the end of the summer came, you realized you would be kissing men the rest of your life. It wasn’t just Africa you fell in love with, you also realized being a girl is never something you wanted to give up
