Kris the Capturer

“Paint, huh?” Ethan said, looking around. The walls were really… boring. “What color? Maybe I can help. Ohh! I can color some pictures to put on your fridge, if you want…”

"I was thinking something calming, like blue..." Kris mentioned pensively. "Of course, I'll probably need all the help I can get. And it'd be great have something on my fridge, this place is so...empty right now," she grimaced, "I never had many pictures to begin with, so I'd love it if you'd make some!"

“Don’t worry, I’ve been house trainin’ him. He’ll be well behaved, I promise!” Ethan said, placing his hand on his chest. “Cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in a pie…”

"Ethan, I don't think that's how the saying goes..." she smiled and took his hand.

Kris smiled and returned the hug, ignoring the fact that her face was red as could be. "I'm glad I have your approval," she replied.

“Right, I can do that!” Ethan said, feigning confidence as he filled the pot with water from the tap. He turned the stove on high and put the pot down, watching it eagerly.

"Ethan, a watched pot won't boil," she chided him. "Look over here so you don't jinx it. Anyway, we're making macaroni and cheese, if that's all right." She continued to rifle through the fridge for several items and put them on the counter.

"Mmmhm!" She looked at him expectantly. "Oh, calm down, it's mac and cheese, we won't have to do much." She giggled at his face. "Besides, if you have someone cook for you all your life, how will you survive on your own?"

“Wow, this place is really nice…” Ethan said, looking around. Grinning, he reached over and wrapped his arms around Kris, hugging her tightly. “I’m gonna come visit you all the time!”

"Thanks, it'll be even nicer when I get it clean." Kris embraced him in return. "You'd better tell your mom that, I don't want her thinking you've disappeared on her," she laughed. "I'm really glad though, I'd love for you to visit more, as long as you don't distract me from work!"
